CHAPTER 116

Book:Stepbrothers Punish Me Every Night Published:2025-3-17

Rolex’s POV
It’s weird enough that we are all in a situation now where we have to praise whatever she does in case we want her to help us. It’s been very annoying to do, but she deserves everything we are doing now. We decided to give her the princess treatment she deserves, but she’s always running away from us.
Could it be that she already knew that we found out her secret, and she’s trying to stay away from us so she won’t have to help us with anything? But it doesn’t seem fair to me. She should at least give us a chance to redeem ourselves.
To be honest, I’m already tired of this endless cycle of chasing her around, and she still keeps the hatred in her heart. It’s a little bit too late for me to be the one lecturing her, but I hope she can finally find it in her heart to forgive someone.
“What are you thinking about so intensely that you are this serious?” Sean asked me.
“Nothing much. It’s just the fact that we finally found the white wolf, and it only means that we are in more potential danger because we might die,” I replied to him.
He bobbed his head in agreement. “You’re right about this. We don’t really have much time, which is why we need to try harder! If she loved us, she would have been willing to help us. But since she hates us a lot, of course, she will avoid us like a plague.”
But my brother is right. I shouldn’t give up just because she wants me to. This is our only chance at survival, and we should be shameless in everything we do. We shouldn’t take offense at anything at all. After all, we are doing this to survive, and it doesn’t matter how she treats us.
I decided to go out to look for her. She was sitting down in the garden, and I knew the camping was going to come to an end very soon. It seemed like she was meditating, so I didn’t disturb her. I just sat down around her to see what she would be doing.
She must have sensed my presence and stopped meditating. She looked back and found me behind her. She almost jumped, but I quickly caught her in my hands.
Our eyes locked for a moment, and she immediately pushed me away to stop me from going any further. How did she know that I was already planning to do something to her? I can’t help it. Whenever I’m near her, my wolf goes crazy and wants me to touch her, but we are restricted.
“Why did you scare me like that? Stop appearing behind someone without notice!” she yanked at me.
“What are you doing that you’re so serious about?” I asked her.
She looked at me with confidence. “I’m trying to meditate to balance my inner… I don’t know what it’s called, but enough freedom or something like that.”
After that, she didn’t bother to look at me as she sent me away to stop bothering her.
I didn’t see her around at night, so I decided to go to the same place to check on her again. Luckily enough, she was sitting there and looking at the stars. I had already heard from my brothers that she always came here every night to look at the stars-probably because she misses her mother so much.
The same mother we all made a nightmare for her and insulted her because of. But it’s all good now.
“What are you doing here again?” she asked the moment I arrived.
How is she always able to sense me when I’m far from her? Am I the only one who doesn’t know how to hide my scent? My brothers do it for me when we are together.
I responded, taking a seat beside her.
“What could someone as honorable as yourself want from me? I don’t think you want something ordinary just by sitting down beside me,” she demanded.
But I couldn’t tell her the truth. If she knew we found out her secret, she probably wouldn’t want to see us again, so I had to keep my mouth shut about this.
“I’m not here for anything. I just want to accompany you in this moment. My brothers have been doing this the last few days, right? Besides, we need to protect you, so I’m just doing my job.”
“You guys are really doing a great job, coming in turn by turn and trying to seduce me. If you think that’s going to make me break your curse, you are wrong. It can’t be broken,” she assured me.
I didn’t say anything but just continued to look at the stars.
Maybe she’s right. We should stop trying so hard.
I was already encouraged by my brother not to give up, and now she’s breaking down my spirit again. I looked at her, and she seemed confused by me.
“What is wrong with you? Can you just say something reasonable?” she demanded from me.
But what can I tell her? That we are really trying to get her to break our curse? She should have known that she wouldn’t be willing to help at all. She already made it clear right now.
I couldn’t say any more words to her as I decided to take a look around before leaving. I can’t just leave her all on her own here. She could easily get taken away.
I looked around and saw a mysterious figure standing at the far corner and looking at us.
I thought it was just someone from the camp, but the way the person was still standing there was suspicious. So I decided to look into it.
I didn’t like the way I kept looking at the person there. I slowly moved closer towards the person to see their face, but the moment I started getting closer, the person started running, and that prompted me to run after him.
I continued to run and chase him, but I couldn’t find him anywhere after a while. Then I realized that I had made a mistake. The first thing I should have done was to protect Mia from getting taken away by someone she doesn’t know.
I rushed all the way to where she was sitting down, and she was still there, looking at the stars. It was quite a relief to know she was okay, but it was also annoying to see that she had no fear of the world. I thought she was just too carefree.
“You actually came back after I sent you away. You must be really persistent,” she said.
“I told you that this place is dangerous, and you don’t listen to me. Why don’t you just go inside and rest? You have seen the stars enough, haven’t you?” I demanded from her.
“Why the hell are you scolding me? It’s not my fault if anyone is after your lives. As for me, they can’t do anything to me, so you shouldn’t worry. Besides, I’m the one who fell off a cliff and survived.”
Is she really boasting of her achievement to us?
Of course, I know the only reason she was able to survive is because she is the white wolf. But she doesn’t know that her secret is no longer a secret between us.
“Just listen to me and stop coming around at night! If you have great power to stop people, you won’t be able to do it if you are cornered! Be very careful!”
