Chapter 100

Book:Stepbrothers Punish Me Every Night Published:2025-3-17

Xavier’s POV
I can’t deny she looks cute when she’s angry about the situation. I’ve
long waited for a moment like this-where we would be alone together. I
guess I’m too selfish compared to my brothers, and I might always want
to do things for myself, but it’s not my fault.
I don’t know why she came into the woods in the first place, but she
ended up saving my life. I would have been long gone if it wasn’t for her.
How she did it is still a mystery to me because it felt like she was giving
me something liquid. My vision was blurry at that moment, and I
couldn’t see anything even though I was peeking. She was this close to
me, and I missed the whole process.
However, I still feel suspicious, and I know she’s hiding a lot of things
from me-which I’m going to find out very soon. Not that I have a right
to know what she’s hiding, but I can’t help my curiosity. I need to know
how she was able to heal me so fast when even most werewolf doctors
can’t do that.
“I don’t want you to talk to me at all. I just want you to stay the hell away
from me! After all, we’re alone-who knows what you’re going to do to
me?” she said.
Sometimes, the words she says to me hurt, but we have to endure them
because she’s the reason we should live, after all. After framing her and
letting her be pushed to death like that, there’s no way she wouldn’t be
mad at us. Even I would be more furious. In fact, I can’t say what I would
do if someone did that to me.
But it’s all in the past.
I’m going to make sure she forgets everything and forgives us. It might
take a while, but the process is promising. At least, she didn’t let me die
-she saved my life. That’s more than enough to know that there’s still
goodness in her, that she still cares about us, even though she acts like
she doesn’t.
“Do you want me to give you the jacket, then?” I asked her.
Of course, I wanted to give her the jacket, but I wasn’t sure if she would
accept it. That’s why I acted like I wasn’t going to give it to her. But she
seemed offended by my words. Maybe I should make it up to her by
changing the subject. Besides, we still don’t know the source of that
attack we had earlier, which is why we’re in this situation in the first
place.
“Do you, by any chance, have anything to do with those people? You’ve
been in this area for years-you should know a little about them,” I
questioned her.
She looked at me with a frown on her face. “Excuse you? I don’t know
what you’re talking about. I have no idea who those people are. Can’t you
see the way they are? Why should I have any relationship with rogues?”
“That’s not what I’m asking you. What I’m trying to say is-”
“Wait a minute!” she cut me off. “Could it be that you still see me as a
rogue from your pack and you’re looking down on me, thinking I’d hang
out with people like that?”
I didn’t know she would take it this seriously. It’s not how I wanted it to
be. Of course, I’m not looking down on her. But I was suddenly reminded
again that we banished her from the pack.
“You know very well that’s not what I mean. I just want to know why
they’re after you and if you need to take more security measures,” I
explained to her slowly.
“I don’t even know where they come from. They could be organ
traffickers or perverts like you-who want to hurt women weaker than
them,” she responded harshly.
I guess she really doesn’t know who they are. But this isn’t just about
organ trafficking-there could be something else going on with those
rogues. I’m going to find out what it is. I don’t think I should tell her
about it now, so she won’t be too worried.
But I can see she can protect herself. Her fighting skills earlier were very
good. I think coming to her uncle was the best decision she ever made in
her life.
“I don’t think they’re organ traffickers. They could just be angry with
humans entering their territory, since people like them are always hiding
in here,” I told her.
She nodded. “You’re right. Could it be that some werewolves are bullying
them, which is why they resort to this countermeasure?” she asked.
“I think it’s reasonable enough if you say it like that. But I’ll still look
into it-you don’t have to worry.”
“Just mind your own business, and I’ll mind mine,” she said, looking
away.
She looked at the sky and the moon, but all I could look at was her
beautiful face. Somehow, my wolf was reacting faster than usual, and I
didn’t know what to do to stop him. I couldn’t stop looking at her. I badly
wanted her, but it would be wrong of me to ask for something like this.
“Mia…” I called her.
She turned to look at me completely, giving me all of her attention.
“What do you want now?”
I moved closer to her while keeping my eyes on her. She seemed very
confused by my actions and moved back, but I still got even closer and
stopped her from moving away.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing? Stay away from me, you
bastard!” she fired at me.
“I’m your mate… I don’t think you can always keep me away from you,” I
said to her.
She snickered. “Really? You better keep your distance before I send you
to hell!”
I couldn’t stop smiling at her as she said those words. I moved even
closer, pulling her neck toward me.
I kissed her immediately.
It was hard to resist something like this. I wanted to see how much her
hatred would hold up. I knew it was bold of me to assume she wouldn’t
hit me after this, but I still tried anyway. I expected her to push me away
quickly, but she didn’t.
She was still in on it with me.
I deepened the kiss, making it go further, and she was still responding to
it. For a moment, I thought everything was fine. I started taking off our
clothes. My body became so heated that it was driving me crazy. There’s
no way being with my mate in this kind of situation would be easy for me
to resist.
I unbuttoned my shirt, and we were almost naked.
Kissing her nape, about to take it a step further-
But she suddenly stopped me.
“That’s enough! I don’t want to do this!” she said immediately.
I respected her wishes and moved away from her. She picked up her
clothes from the ground, put them on, and walked a bit farther from me
to sit down. I realized she was upset about what had just happened, and I
didn’t bother to ask her anything.
She didn’t talk to me the entire night.
