Chapter 98

Book:Stepbrothers Punish Me Every Night Published:2025-3-17

Mia’s POV
After my wolf begged me to save his life, I decided to do it anyway.
I’m only doing this because my wolf asked me to. If not, I would have just
left him to die. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if I did that right now, but I
won’t. Not for now.
I moved closer to him, trying to inspect his wound, but he wouldn’t let
me touch him. It made me angry.
Is he trying to make me mad deliberately or what?
“Are you going to let me save your life, or are you going to continue
being an idiot? You think I like being here?” I fired at him.
He shook his head. “I’m sorry. I’m not trying to make you angry or
anything. I just don’t want you to waste your time here. If you really
want to help me, maybe you should get someone else to do it.”
I couldn’t believe his arrogance.
He must look down on me so much that he thinks I can’t save him.
I mind-linked my wolf again. You see? I’m trying to save him, but he
doesn’t want my help. So don’t ask me to help him anymore.
“No! You can’t do that, Mia. You have to save him, and that is the only
way we can both not feel guilty,” she replied.
I don’t know why she keeps insisting I save him. After everything they
did to us, I don’t think we should feel guilty at all.
But what should I do when he doesn’t want me to help him?
Should I just knock him out and give him my blood?
But he’s going to know I did this to him after he wakes up-he’s not that
stupid.
If only I could erase people’s memories, then it would be easier for me to
do this.
“Whether you believe it or not, I’m here to save you, not frame you.
Don’t think I’m as despicable as you are,” I told him and pushed his
hand away.
Then, I moved closer to check his wound.
He was caught in a trap coated with poison, and I didn’t know who set it.
But it had to be someone who hunts werewolves. Even as an Alpha, it
wouldn’t be long before he succumbed to his wound.
Luckily for him, I could save his life.
“Does it hurt a lot?” I asked him.
He nodded. “Yes, it hurts a lot. But I can endure it. You said you can really
help me… What can you do?”
I looked at him in anger. “Are you seriously questioning me? Do you
want me to save you or not?”
“I’m sorry,” he apologized, sounding sincere.
But I knew better-he was just being a hypocrite.
“There’s no need to apologize for anything. I’ll do what I can to help you.
Just close your eyes and breathe for a few minutes,” I commanded him.
He hesitated but eventually did as I said.
As soon as he closed his eyes, I took out a knife, cut myself, and let my
blood flow onto his wound.
Within moments, he groaned in pain but still didn’t open his eyes.
I stepped back and watched the process happen.
He fell unconscious for a moment, and I thought it was the perfect
opportunity to run away.
But then, I wanted to see if what I had given him really worked.
So, I stayed.
I should be glad to see him in pain, and yet, I didn’t know why I felt
otherwise.
This… didn’t feel right at all.
After a minute, he finally opened his eyes, looking shocked.
He glanced at me, then back at his wounds. They were completely healed.
He couldn’t believe what was happening.
Though a faint scar remained, he was able to move his leg again.
I was sure he had a lot of questions now-suspicions too.
But I knew how to defend myself.
I wasn’t going to tell him my secret.
I wasn’t going to let him or his brothers cling to me any more than they
already had.
There was no way I’d tell him I was the White Wolf-the one they were
looking for.
The only one who could save them in both ways.
“How do you feel now?” I asked.
He shook his leg a few times, then stood up.
“I feel completely fine now. It’s like nothing ever happened to me.”
“Okay. That’s good to know,” I said, turning to leave. “I’ll be on my
way.”
But he grabbed my arm.
“Hey! Let go! I swear, you’re getting on my nerves! I knew saving you
was a bad decision. I should have just let you die-just like you did to
me!” I shouted at him.
“No, Mia. I’m not trying to make you angry,” he said. “I just want to
know how you did this. I’m sorry… I looked at you a little when you were
doing it, but it seemed like you poured something. What’s the secret to
this? I thought you didn’t have a wolf?”
If he had looked at me when I was doing it, couldn’t he have seen that I
was bleeding?
So why was he asking this?
Was he playing ignorant, or was his vision just blurry at the time?
“It’s none of your business how I did it,” I snapped. “I don’t think you’re
in any position to ask me questions. You should get some rest and leave
when you can.”
I jerked my hand out of his grasp and started walking away before he
could ask more questions.
No matter what, I didn’t want him to know anything about me.
The moment I turned around, a dagger came flying my way.
I immediately dodged it, but I fell-straight into his arms.
For a brief moment, our eyes locked.
Then reality hit.
We were being attacked.
We quickly looked around to see who was bold enough to attack us in
broad daylight.
That’s when I saw them-wolves.
Their scent was unmistakable.
Rogues.
The situation became clearer to me.
The trap that had wounded him earlier-could it have been theirs?
What are they doing, trapping werewolves?
“Stay behind me, Mia. They don’t look like good people at all,” Xavier
said.
I scoffed. “I know that better than anyone. It’s not as if you’re any
different from them.”
The more we moved back, the more of them appeared.
What the hell is going on here?
