Jayson’s POV.
“You want to know your son’s killer? Then stay out of getting your emotions messed up with your head.” He shrugged as he looked at me.
“You don’t have to worry about that. I will be leaving New Kingston the moment I get my son’s killer.” I muttered as I looked at Collins.
“You expect me to believe that? Huh?” He chuckled softly as he looked at me. “And why would I trust you? I have seen men, powerful men, lay waste because of their emotions.” He cursed as he smirked.
“And come to think of it, you couldn’t even help but get intimate with her. You should have seen Ian Eriksson aimlessly searching for his beautiful Emilia.” He scowled as he looked at me.
He raised his head as he looked at Ian Eriksson as he wore a broad smile as he watched Emilia approach him. They embraced warmly before he kissed her forehead.
Collins smirked as he turned to me. I quickly looked away, ignoring Ian and Emilia. “There you go again, Jayson.” He said mockingly as he looked at me.
“You can’t even stand the sight of them and you expect me to take your words seriously?” He sneered as he looked at me. “I would love to watch you prove your point of not letting your emotions ruin my plans. And just know that if you do, I will see to it that I have my men torture Emilia, having wolfsbane ingested in her system.” He sneered as he frowned at me.
“You wouldn’t want that.” He said as he emptied the vodka he ordered.
“How long do you think you will remain feared?” I scowled as I looked at him. “What do you gain inflicting nothing but pain and causing discomfort to everyone around you?” I queried as I rolled my eyes.
“Nothing. I am just paying back what was given to me five years back and do you expect me to back down or forgive the wrong deeds?” He slammed as he looked at me.
“Close to the New Kingston’s bridge, there are currently six founding members’ children.” He smirked as he brought out his cigarette as he lighted it with his customized lighter.
My eyes went wild in terror upon hearing that.
“Logan, Owen, Jack, Peterson, Patricia and Helen. If I was to save one, I would happily save Helen McKinsey because all she has ever done was to get involved in their mess. They believe they are meant to stand for each other through thick and thin and you know what? That is their weakness!!” He cursed as he stared at me.
“Oh! And if you are asking me how I managed to know about their location. I had my beta place a tracker under their cars and just a word from me and my old time friend who just returned from Chicago, will take the shot and guess what, he never misses a shot.” He grinned as he looked at me.
“But then, the question should be, “Who is Liam’s killer there? Or is the killer still here?” He said as he smirked.
I turned to him as I couldn’t help but wonder what he knows about Liam’s killer. I couldn’t stop thinking about his statement.
“What did he mean by asking if Liam’s killer was still here?” I asked myself as I scanned the hall which wasn’t too crowded again as people were now leaving.
“No!” I chuckled softly as I looked at him. “You are only trying to pull some stunt and also, trying to shift my attention from the prime suspect now.” I scoffed as Logan was now my prime suspect.
“Jumping into conclusions will only make you appear like the impulsive uncle and you might end up taking the wrong man down while your son’s killer still roams freely and worst scenario, you might have your secret blown out and that might have your place as part of the founding families revoked forever.” He scowled as he chuckled softly.
“And… I have sent my baseball bat man away.” He said with a smile as he looked at me.
Without saying another word, he walked out as he met with Dahlia and his right hand man, Ace.
He turned to me as he winked his right eye before walking away with them.
“Darn it!!” I cursed as I watched him walk away. “Such an annoying being.” I said as I rolled my eyes.
“Are you okay?”
I jolted as I turned around. “Grace?” I forced out a smile as I looked at her. “You scared me.” I said as I gulped in the vodka I have been holding.
“I saw you two. Thought you two were best friends when I saw you walk inside with him and now, I could clearly hear you cursing and also, looking at him.” She muttered as she turned to Collins.
“It’s nothing.” I forced out a broad smile as I looked at her. “We just met recently.” I sneered as I got up. “I am tired already and I really need to catch some rest.” I said with a broad smile as I turned to leave.
“Have you seen Logan yet?” She questioned as I paused, then turned around.
I exhaled gently as I looked at her. “He left with the rest of them. Guess they want to have some time off!!” I said with a broad smile as I looked at her.
“Oh! That’s strange. He never informed anyone.” She mumbled as she looked at me.
“They are no longer kids for crying out loud, okay?” I responded before excusing myself as I returned to my room.
I kept on pacing about in the room as I couldn’t help but keep wondering who Liam’s killer was. Now, I couldn’t for sure say if Logan was responsible for Liam’s death but then, he also seemed interested in Owen.
I crashed down on the bed as I couldn’t fix the whole puzzle. I kept on thinking heavily as I drifted into a deep sleep.
