I dropped my spoon in my plate.
“No” I told Christian.
“What?”
“I don’t want to be baby sat”
“Wayne is a little more dangerous than the average baby sitter” Christian said with a wry grin.
I felt like slamming my plate into his face in anger.
“Christian, I’m serious. I’m turning twenty three”
“And, there are men out there that I do not trust, women too. They prey on pretty girls, young beautiful girls, Wayne is not baby sitting you, he’s making sure that you’re safe ”
“Then I’m not going ” I said bitterly.
“Fine” he said with a satisfied smile.
I started to think of how I would sneak out of the house, the security men in this house were still and quiet.
“You’ll come with me then. It’s just to give me the assurance that you’re safe ”
I looked at him, he was smiling at me across the table.
I picked up the knife and tightened my fingers around it.
“I will stab you with this” I told him.
His smile grew and turned into laughter.
I heard Harmony chuckling.
I rolled my eyes at both of them and left the table. I heard Christian’s footsteps behind me as I entered into the bedroom.
“What do you want to do with the girl?” He asked.
Instantly, I forgot that I was angry.
“I don’t know. I promise to help her”
“There is someone I know”
“As I there Isn’t a someone you don’t know ” showoff.
He laughed and sat on the bed.
“Regalia was like that for a long time before she healed” he said.
“What happened to Regalia?” I asked.
I held my breath in my throat, I had been hearing about the fact that they beat their trauma and I heard nothing about what caused them the trauma in the first place.
Christian shook his head as if he didn’t want to tell me and I remembered feeling betrayed.
“She was sold to a wealthy Swedish billionaire when she was young. Marcellino didn’t do it but his crack whore of a girlfriend did it and he knew about it but didn’t stop them. Jeandre went to Alexander for help, no way. Hew went to my mum for help, nothing, he went to Marcellino…”
I stood there in utter silence, my heart beat was pounding in my ears as I listened to the horrible story.
“It took years before Jeandre could reach me. I cut myself off from the family, no one knew how to get a hold of me and I was still building the foundation of my company back then, I even slept in my office without seeing daylight for months… I think he still hates me for it. The fact that he tried to get an appointment with me for years and he couldn’t get it because I was too busy and I didn’t even know that Regalia was in trouble. He took it upon himself to save her and bring her back. He saved up money, travelled to Sweden and it took about a year before he even found out where they had kept her. When he got there, he had no way to get her out. He didn’t plan ahead ”
Christian turned his gaze to me from the ceiling.
“When I found out that Jeandre had been trying to reach me was through a letter he managed to send from his captive’s home, I reached out to Marcellino and he told me what had been going on for six years. I was broken and angry at everybody that had laid their hands on Regalia and Jeandre and every body that was running the underground operation. Jeandre too had been turned into a sex slave and he didn’t escape because he couldn’t take his sister with him and he couldn’t leave her there either. I was so sad that I waited six years to find out, by then they had been through a lot, seen a lot, faced a lot of pain and misery that they could hardly even eat or sleep or speak. I took them to a facility in Ireland and they stayed there for some years before they healed and made their way out into the world again ”
Jeez, no wonder Regalia was so… Rude to say the least.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know ”
“Come here ”
I went to lay beside him on the bed.
“I didn’t want you to go anywhere alone without security because these men have eyes Nd hands everywhere. At parties… Everywhere. And you stand out in the crowd, it scares me more because they can easily single you out and”
“It’s okay ” I whispered and climbed onto him.
I straddled him while he laid down and placed my body on his.
“I’m not going out while Blue”
“Thank you ” he said to me.
“You can take Harmony to whoever is a professional, someone that’ll give her a safe and peaceful life, but please don’t take her to a place where she’ll get a filthy tongue like Regalia ”
Christian chuckled.
“Wayne almost bit her head off her neck the day he met her”
“Or maybe he was simply just attracted to her. She’s exactly what Wayne is looking for in a woman ”
I raised my head from his chest.
“So Wayne like means girls, huh” I said with raised brows and Christian’s smile dropped.
“Jenna ” he warned but I didn’t take the warning.
“What, Wayne is cute”
Before I could blink, Christian had me on my back and both of my hands were pinned above my head, it was so fast that even after seconds, I didn’t know how I got to that position.
“You just reminded me. I was supposed to punish you for coming”
“Oh, Christian. It’s not fair, how did you expect me not to come when you were fucking me nicely with your fingers”
“You were supposed to follow my instructions” he said angrily and with a hiss.
“I was just joking when I said that Wayne was cute, you know that right?”
His grip on my hand tightened and I winced.
“Christian, it was just a joke” I said searching his eyes.
It struck me that I had never referred to another man as cute, it was the first time he was hearing it from me.
