“Put the gun away, Wayne” Christian said through gritted teeth.
Wayne put the gun down and shot me an apologetic looke before leaving the room.
Christian turned me to face me and he kissed me again, swiping his wet tongue across my bottom lip.
I felt my knee weaken and I clinged to him for support.
“Let’s go” he whispered against my lips and instead of releasing me, he kissed me again.
By the time we pulled out, the girl had stopped shaking and she was standing by the corner, her back pressed against the wall.
She looked young.
“Hi” I said to her taking a step and she backed away, fear swam through her eyes as she figured out there was no where left to run.
“I’m not going to hurt you” I said raising my hands to show her.
Her eyes kept straying to Christian, she wasn’t scared of me but she was scared of him.
What did Mr Mason do to her to make every man a threat.
“He’s not going to hurt you, do you want him to leave?” I asked her.
She turned her gaze to Christian and she turned back to me.
“No” she said barely above a whisper.
“What is your name?”
“Harmony ” she said.
Beautiful name.
Beautiful girl.
“How old are you?”
“Eighteen…”
I turned to look at Christian, as if sensing my gaze he turned back to look at me and I read his expression.
“Mason hurt you, right?” Christian asked her and she shifted back again, hitting the wall.
“It’s fine, Mr Mason is dead now” I told the girl, she looked like didn’t believe me.
“Come, I’ll show you… You don’t need to take my hand, he’s over there ” Christian said and I walked with him to the room we were before.
Mr Mason was on the floor, laying in the pool of his own blood. His dead eyes were staring blankly through the air.
I heard a gasp behind me and turned to see the girl staring at the body with her eyes wide as saucers.
“Come, let’s get out of here” I told her.
She started walking quickly, she was in tiny clothes, kind Larissa would wear, the type I would be wearing right now if I never met Christian to talk some sense and self worth into my head.
“I’m Jenna, this is my fiancee, Christian”
She smile a little at me and threw a nervous glance at Christian.
We got into the elevator together and Christian made sure to keep his distance from her, he sensed her discomfort and he understood more than anything.
We rode in the car with Harmony, I didn’t discuss it with Christian yet, I didn’t even know why she was coming with us, I didn’t have any reason. All I knew was that she was scared and I wanted to protect her.
Christian didn’t ask me any questions either. We drove into the compound and he got down first and came over to open the door for me.
“How about I talk to her first, I’ll be in with you in a minute”
He opened his mouth to protest but he turned to her and he gave me a small nod and left.
I turned to Harmony and she turned to me.
“I’ll be twenty three tomorrow” I said, wondering if she even needed to hear it.
“Happy birthday” she said weakly.
“Thank you. Are you hungry, when last did you have something to eat?”
“I don’t remember”
She was staring at me but into me, as if she was searching for an expression that would instantly give me away as a bad person.
“Christian is a great chef” I told her
“Why did you bring me here?” I waited for a long time trying to find another reason.
“Because at eighteen, my dad died, we lost our house and I had to walk on the street asking for money so I could buy some food me and my mum. One time I wore this really short red skirt and this tiny tube top . Because I was thinking of sleeping with someone that night for a bigger amount of money. When I turned around and saw you in your red skirt and tube top, I saw myself. I brought you here because I would want to help myself”
She started at me, silver lined her eyes and understanding filled them.
“Mason bought me uh, from my dad and he brought me to be his…”
“It’s okay” I told her stretching my hand and I was touched when she hugged me as she cried.
She cried for a really long time.
Christian stood in front of the house trying to look inside the car, he was worried but he was respecting boundaries.
“Your husband is back ” she whispered.
I turned to the window to see him coming back to the car. He wasn’t my husband, at least not yet.
“He can help you” I told her.
“Help me?”
“Get back on your feet, find a place to live. Should I ask him?”
“No, I don’t want to be a burden”
“Baby, aren’t you guys done talking?” Christian asked as he opened the door.
“Five minutes” I said pushing him away and shutting the door again.
“You’re not going to be a burden. Or if you don’t want him I can help you”
She smiled first with her eyes before the smile reached her lips.
“Thank you, Jenna ”
I didn’t know the first thing about uplifting a sex slave and finding her the help she needed, but I was more than willing to give Harmony the best.
I opened the door and climbed down from the car.
Christian looked from me to her then me again and a proud smile was on his lips.

“Blue just called, she said she’s coming tomorrow to see you” Christian said trying to fill the awkward silence with words.
Harmony was eating too quickly, I was scared she would choke on her food.
“It’s been ages since I saw Blue” I said under my breath.
“She says she’s taking you with her to her family’s vacation home”
I remembered the party she spoke about and I knew it wasn’t vacation home at all.
“Yeah?” I asked trying to suppress my smile because Christian was watching me.
“Yes. I’m going to be busy tomorrow so Wayne is coming with you”
