His gaze was too intense, too sincere, making Rosalind’s heart tremble.
“Ulric.”
“I’m here.”
“Your mother…”
“Don’t worry about her,” Ulric interrupted gently. “She and my dad have always been accustomed to being flattered and can’t stand opposition. Whatever they do or say, you don’t need to take it to heart! As their son, I can’t control their thoughts, but I know clearly what I want, and they can’t control me either.”
Things he didn’t want to hear, he treated as mere noise.
He couldn’t shut their mouths, but he could cover his ears.
Rosalind’s lips moved slightly, but she didn’t voice her thoughts.
She lowered her eyes and smiled, “Ulric, is this the first time you go up against them? That’s why your parents are surprised.”
“Not really.” Ulric held her slender waist tightly and sighed, “My mom went through some bad experiences before and developed severe mental illnesses along with heart issues, so she’s become more paranoid. Over the years, our way of communication was that if I thought they were right, I’d listen. If not, I wouldn’t argue, but I wouldn’t comply either.”
“Your parents love you very much.”
“Yes,” Ulric had to admit that.
As the only son of the Walters family, he was naturally valued and favored.
Rosalind’s hand loosened a bit, but Ulric immediately held it again.
“Don’t be afraid. I only recognize you as my wife.”
She lifted her eyes to meet Ulric’s gaze.
“We’ll deal with future matters in the future!”
It was still the same words.
“Rosalind!”
Ulric’s voice grew heavier.
Rosalind knew he was getting angry, so she quickly wrapped her arms around his neck and offered her lips willingly.
“But right now, I’m yours.”
With her being so proactive, of course, he wouldn’t let her go easily.
Rosalind discovered that Ulric was open to discussion on everything except this matter. In bed, his gentleness vanished along with any restraint!
In the end, any bit of strength Rosalind had left was completely drained away.
It seemed only by doing so could Ulric assert his claim over Rosalind and ensure he still had access to her heart.
…
Cedric acted swiftly. Upon receiving orders, he immediately sent someone to escort Sirena.
To prevent any mishaps along the way, Ulric instructed him to first send Sirena back home and then secretly transfer her to Sweden.
This way, even if Audrey discovered it midway and wanted to search for her, she would have to look within the country.
“Where exactly are you taking me? I’m not leaving!”
Sirena had become emaciated now, her voice never recovering from previous hoarseness. She looked sickly-a far cry from the once elegantly dressed lawyer she used to be.
But in this place, no one pampered her. The escort glanced at her coldly. “You have no choice. Shut up.”
“What you’re doing is illegal! Detaining me is already a crime; now you’re planning to smuggle me?”
Though Sirena’s eyes were covered, she sensed she must have boarded a plane!
“Hah, talking about law when you’re in the hands of the Walters family.”
The men laughed dismissively without paying her any heed.
Sirena felt panicked.
Because she knew Audrey wouldn’t harm her-even though she had harmed her beloved son. After their last meeting, Sirena felt Audrey still remembered their past relationship! But if she left Audrey’s sphere of influence, things would be uncertain!
If… if Rosalind decided to have Ulric kill her, no one could save her life!
