Chapter 944: Former Rival in Love

Book:Married The Day We Met Published:2025-3-16

Their marriage made her suspect her charm and dampen her confidence in life. Bridger even tried to torture her for the rest of time at the cost of his own marriage and happiness.
Marely covered her face with her hands, crying almost to the point of fainting. “Can you forgive me? I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I was so scared back then…”
“Go tell Jerry.”
The room was filled only with sobs. The door was slightly ajar, light falling on Bridger’s shoulder, yet he was enveloped in loneliness and desolation.
A sudden soft sound pierced Bridger’s eardrums. As if driven by some unseen force, he looked up.
His gaze fell on a woman who should not have been there.

Mollie’s voice was weary. Facing Callie’s shock, she gave a bitter smile. “It all happened when I was nineteen. In the blink of an eye, I’m already twenty-three.”
Many things had happened over the years, too many to recount all at once.
Callie was already very shocked. She had always thought Mollie was someone with many stories, but she hadn’t expected this…
“Have you ever regretted it?” She held Mollie’s hand tightly.
Mollie thought deeply. “My biggest regret is not stopping their wedding.”
“Callie, if you have a choice, I hope you won’t regret it like I did.”
This was a hint.
Callie, slow to realize, pressed the button for the third floor as she entered the elevator. Kieran noticed her unusual state. “Aren’t we leaving?”
“I have another friend to see.”
“What friend?”
Callie looked at him. “Why, do I have to report everything I do and everyone I talk to Nelson?”
Kieran pressed his lips together and nodded.
Callie was silent for three seconds. “I’m going to see his former rival in love. Go ahead, report it.”
“Callie… please don’t.” Kieran could imagine how terrifying Nelson’s expression would be. Worse still, he was the only one tasked with watching Callie.
If she insisted on doing something, he couldn’t forcibly stop her.
The elevator descended. The woman in the mirror crossed her arms, speaking leisurely. “What’s there to be afraid of saying? He’s getting married; he won’t care about his ex-wife.”
Kieran leaned against the side. “Actually… we can all see that Miss Ellison isn’t as important as you. To him, you’re special; otherwise, he wouldn’t have specifically asked me to follow you.”
“He’s just afraid I’ll cause trouble at his wedding.” Callie wasn’t appreciative.
The elevator opened, and she walked directly to the internal medicine department. In the office, several doctors were working at their desks. They were stunned to see the beautiful woman visiting.
Callie looked around but didn’t see the person she was looking for. “Sorry to disturb you, is Tobias here?”
Someone quickly replied, “Tobias is in surgery; it hasn’t finished yet.”
Callie understood. “I’m his friend. Can I wait here?”
“Of course, you can.”
Tobias’s desk was cluttered with academic papers and various books. Callie sat in his chair while Kieran stayed close by.
It was like having a bodyguard.
“Can you not stand in front of me? I’m going to take a nap.” Callie seemed genuinely waiting for Tobias to finish surgery and closed her eyes.
Kieran dutifully stood behind her. After a while, seeing she had really fallen asleep, he moved slightly to stretch.
Callie opened her eyes.
Silently, she picked up a pen and quickly wrote a line on Tobias’s sticky note.
At that moment, Kieran turned around. Callie was already standing up. “Suddenly don’t feel like waiting anymore. Let’s go.”
