This question made Bridger loosen his grip. His interest waned instantly, and he said, “Mollie, some things should be done in moderation.”
That meant he believed it.
Mollie cleaned herself up and said, “Sometimes, I really feel sorry for Marely. Childhood sweethearts growing old together, it’s all just a joke.”
Bridger let her go.
Mollie left Taiho under the unfriendly gazes of everyone. It was only when she was standing by the roadside to hail a cab that she remembered she had an apartment here too.
Over the past year, Bridger had given her many things. Luxury items were delivered monthly, and besides the house in Ylosea, there were several properties across the country. He never blinked when swiping his card. She even had free access to his club.
Mollie had only stayed in the Taiho apartment once.
That night, she had sneaked out to attend an academic salon without telling Bridger. She drank the wine handed to her by her senior and was caught red-handed by Bridger.
Bridger could act. He politely took her away and brought her to this place nearby, pressing her against the wall and entering her from behind. He ground into her slowly, then took a limited edition bottle of red wine from the cabinet and poured it over her body. “Don’t you love drinking? Lick it clean.”
Mollie occasionally thought back to the first time she saw Bridger.
A month before Marely’s wedding, the legendary Kaiser family hosted a banquet at Club Paradise.
Mollie arrived late because of an experiment. She quietly opened the door and met those bright, dark eyes, unable to look away.
Behind him was a large, bright floor-to-ceiling window. His long legs were lazily crossed, and he held a black-covered document in his hand.
It was the first time Mollie had seen someone so good-looking. Truly handsome, she thought.
Later, Mollie learned that the black-covered document recorded traces of her life from childhood.
One by one, people were introduced. When it was his turn, he casually extended his hand. “Bridger.”
“Mollie.”
Everyone’s gaze turned unfriendly. Marely put down her chopsticks with a slight noise on the table.
Mollie didn’t dare say another word throughout the meal.
She couldn’t remember what was discussed at that dinner.
All she remembered was quietly taking off her panties under the table and putting them in her bag. As the dinner ended, she chased after him.
Bridger had drunk a bit, his eyes sparkling with light as he looked at the young girl. “Do you know what you’re saying?”
Mollie smiled brightly. “I said, I want to be your lover.”
The barely eighteen-year-old girl exuded youthfulness in her eyes. Such a blatant gaze, not hiding ambition and desire, made Bridger lose his composure for a moment. Then he suddenly stepped forward, cupped her face, and kissed her.
Mollie’s eyes widened as she stared at his high nose bridge and those eyes filled with nothing but lust. She kept looking for a year.
Their relationship lasted exactly one year.
Mollie knew how to behave and act obediently, maintaining their ambiguous relationship well.
Only once did Bridger ruin Mollie’s study abroad opportunity. The department head was blunt: “Give my regards to Mr. Kaiser.”
Mollie rebelled and didn’t visit Bridger for two weeks. She finally ran into him at a Hudson family banquet and acted as if she didn’t know him, even taking a call in front of him. “Don’t be mad, I’ll come see you tomorrow.”
Her stepfather asked ambiguously, “Mollie, are you in love?”
“Yes.”
Bridger’s face changed immediately.
Before the meal was over, he elegantly wiped his hands and said in front of everyone, “Mollie, I brought experimental data for you. Come to my room to get it.”
