“Watch out!” Silver’s voice resonated in her mind as she tried going inside her room.
But it was too late.
“Miss! Where did you go?” One of the sentinel wolves who was watching her room closely caught her.
‘Damn it!’ Leila commented inside her head.
She swallowed hard as she tried to compose herself. Then, she faced the sentinel wolves. From the looks of it, it was clear that there was suspicion reflecting his eyes while looking at her.
But she maintained her intimidating aura.
“Why? I couldn’t find anyone a while ago. I want to eat. I am starving. I just tried going to that hallway, but I couldn’t find anyone. Good thing that you are here now. Ask a servant omega to bring me some food.” Leila said darkly.
Then, she lifted her left brow making the man in front of her get more intimidated.
She was about to go back to her room when the man talked again.
“Why is your dress filthy, Miss?” The man inquired deviously.
Her heart was beating so fast inside her ribs as if it already wanted to get out from it. But she had to think rationally. She didn’t want to get caught anyway.
She faced the man gave him a deadly glare as she checked her dress.
Truth to be told, there was some mud smearing on her dress!
‘Damn it!’ She cursed out loud inside her head.
But she looked at him with her head held high.
“And? What are your trying to point? Tell the servant omegas to clean the hallway, then! Damn it! Your master gave this dress to me and now it is filthy and ruined. Tell the servant omegas to get into my room and wash this. I don’t want to be labelled as ungrateful woman in front of your leader.” Leila said trying to sound annoyed.
Then, she pursed her lips tightly acting so irritated.
“And besides, stop checking me out. Or else, I will tell the leader that you seemed to admire me from the way you look at me. I am sure that he won’t think twice of ripping that head of yours.” She told him mockingly as fear crossed his eyes.
This time, she knew that she could already get away.
Leila instantly turned around and went inside her room.
She blew out her breath as it seemed like she had been stifling it inside her.
“Damn, girl! That was awesome…” Silver commented inside her head.
It seemed like even her inner wolf didn’t see that coming.
Well, she might now get better at acting, huh?
“Now, what are you going to do?” Silver inquired seriously.
Leila swallowed hard.
“I have to buy time because of creating such excuses. Then, I will meet the Triad leader.” She replied back.
Silver snorted inside her head.
“Why? Don’t you have to do that?” Silver retorted back.
She pursed her lips together.
“I have to know what happened to my father… And I have to confirm something.” Those were the only words that she could tell her.
Then, a soft knock on her door stopped her from saying more.
A servant omega went inside her room with bread, cheese, and milk with her in a tray. Her stomach growled.
It seemed like she hadn’t felt herself starving already.
This might give her a clear mind. It was better to eat first gather some strength then strike later.

Leila held the tray of empty plates and glass in her hands as she went out of her room.
The sentinel wolf who castigated her a while ago was not there anymore. There was a younger man guarding her.
Perhaps the man a while ago was just too coward to face her. Well, she wasn’t joking anyway if she had to, she would tell that. However, she didn’t want to if her stopped his malicious and suspicious glares at her.
The sentinel wolf immediately went to her as she instantly handed him the tray.
“Put that back in the kitchen. I have to meet the leader. Is he in the hall?” Leila inquired intimidatingly.
And it seemed to be working because she saw fear immediately crossed at the man’s eyes.
Her intimidating looks which she learned from Myrtle and Hunter was kind of working. It was a good thing that she tried learning it.
“Uh, y-yes, M-Miss… You can go straight at that hallway. The last room at the left side is the hall where the master is.” The sentinel wolf dreadfully replied.
She stopped herself from smiling viciously.
And all that she had to do was to nod her head seriously and walked past him leaving the poor sentinel wolf alone in front of her room.
This is the last time she will be seeing this man.
He was indeed such a good manipulator. If not for Hunter’s words she might be listening and believing his words. Between him a complete stranger and Hunter. She would be crazy if she believed this man.
For sure, there was something else in his story. She knew that he might be the one lying to her. Because she believed in Hunter. He won’t hurt her intentionally.
Leila walked lightly.
She didn’t want to alert anyone especially the Triad leader.
Besides, she had to think rationally and gather all her composure at that.
Of course, his face was kind of intimidating and creepy. And she didn’t want any of it. It was making her shiver down her spine.
She wouldn’t want any of it for the rest of her life especially when she married the eerie man.
Leila took a deep breath and was about to knock on the door when she found it opened, and a bark of laughter resonated behind the door.
***
“Are you threatening me?” The masked man inquired darkly causing Leila to swallow hard.
She instantly knew that it was him who was talking.
But who was he talking to?
She clenched her hands into balled fists as her forehead creased. She didn’t even know who he was talking to but there was a huge part of her that was telling her not to interfere and kept on listening.
“You are the one filling me in with her whereabouts especially back in that small village. You are just a spy her spy. The reason why she is here now.” The masked man stated mockingly.
Her heart beat escalated as her hands turned cold.
‘W-What? Who was he talking to?’ Leila inquired inside her mind.
“Just… Just stop this! You can’t marry her!”
***
For a moment, Leila felt the blood inside her brain drain.
She swallowed hard as her heart slowly stopped its beat.
‘N-No…’ Her mind was yelling at her unable to process whatever that was trying to get inside her head.
Because that voice… She knew that voice.
