Chapter 76
Seer

Leila smirked at Tammy sarcastically.
She couldn’t believe that she could hear those words from a peculiar woman like her. It might be really true that looks could really be deceiving and that odd words could come from someone you less expect to come from.
Then, she shook her head as she smiled without humor.
Leila looked at her with her cold and serious expression. Her dark brown eyes turned a bit darker almost close to black.
And right there and then, Tammy could feel the seething anger from her.
“Kindness? Love? The old Leila?” She sardonically said those words as if it was something so disappointing and disgusting.
Then, she chuckled without humor and shook her head once again. It was as if she couldn’t believe what she heard from her. It was as if she could hear something so ridiculous but it was something that she could be annoyed for.
“You must be joking, Tamika.” She uttered in pure irritation as she gave emphasis to each and every word.
This time, she couldn’t hide her annoyance anymore.
“After everything that I discovered… Do you think I can still go back to who I am in the past? That’s-”
“Yes, Leila… You can… If you want.” She cut me off.
Her voice didn’t even falter. It was as if her words didn’t even affect her… at all.
However, that only made her more irritated. It was as if she was invalidating her feelings. She felt like she didn’t understand her… at all.
But Tammy simply shook her head like she saw something in her eyes.
“I understand you, Leila…” She said using her cold voice.
But Leila shook her head wouldn’t plainly believe her.
“No, you don’t. That is why you are simply telling me to forgive and let love overtakes whatever this is…” She told her accusingly.
Then, she glared at her.
Tammy didn’t even flinch at that.
“You don’t know that pain of being betrayed, Tammy…” She uttered every single word with pure hatred and pain.
“You don’t know how painful it is to be betrayed… by the people whom you trusted and love. The pain… It is more excruciating…” Leila continued brokenly.
Tammy let out a deep sigh.
Then, she stared at her straight into her eyes.
Right there and then, she saw a glimpse of unbearable pain reflecting her broken soul. But in just a blink, her deep purple eyes returned into a cold and void one.
And she smiled at me.
It was such a blank smile something that she always does.
And it some something that was making the hair at the back of her nape stood up.
Leila thought that she was already used to it. But now, she learned that it wasn’t the case. She might need a lot of more time to get used to her trademark creepy expression.
“Believe me, Leila… I know…” The way Tammy said those words made her swallow hard.
But she pursed her lips.
Nothing could ever make her stop.
She knew deep inside her heart that the pain wouldn’t be healed just like that.
Leila would surely treat the Blacks as her mortal enemy.
And she swore that to her father’s grave.
“If that’s the case, then, you should have known what my anger is coming from, Tammy. You should have understood me better.” She retorted back.
But Tamika let out a deep sigh.
It was as if she wanted to say a lot of things that she couldn’t.
“That is the very reason why I am telling you to calm down and asking you not to dwell on your anger, Leila.” She said calmly but it just made her glare at her more.
She gritted her teeth as her anger and hatred escalated.
“Because I know… I know how to be betrayed by the ones you loved and trusted. I know how it feels like. I have been there. And believe me, you wouldn’t want to know what else I have been through.” She explained with her voice composed.
However, Leila was caught off guard.
There was something in the way Tamika said those words that made her stop for a bit.
She swallowed hard as she felt the mounting pain and melancholic ambiance that was fluctuating into the air.
“I understand you… What your feelings are coming from. And perhaps, this is the reason why the moon goddess led me to you that day… To guide you… To make sure that you won’t regret what you might chose… You have a lot more inside you, Leila and you have to be careful in making your decisions.” Tammy tried to explain profoundly.
Leila knew that her words was brief and deep. Even Silver was trying to tell her to simply follow Tamika and ponder about her words. However, her egoistical side wasn’t helping at all. It was her impulsiveness that was trying to stop her from doing whatever Tammy was trying to tell her.
“You might know me as someone who is so knowledgeable with herbal medicines, Leila… But believe my words… I know that you already know what I am talking about. Don’t be too tenacious…” Tammy stated seriously before she finally stood up.
But she was just too hardheaded to even acknowledge her words.
She shook her head stubbornly and stood up, too.
“You can’t just tell me what to do… Stop making deductions, Tammy. You are not a fortune teller…” She sardonically commented as her forehead creased when she saw something glistened Tammy’s eyes.
Her mouth slightly turned ajar.
Then, Tammy let out a deep sigh.
“What if I am? Are you going to believe me now? Is it enough for you to finally decide for what might be the best for you now, Leila?” Tammy asked coldly.
Leila swallowed hard unable to utter any other word.
Then, the corner of her lips rose… She smiled wickedly… Then, she let out a bark of laughter.
“You… Don’t tell me you are a fortune teller? That’s absurd!” She exclaimed as her lips still formed with a wide smile as she was shaking her head.
She couldn’t believe that ridiculous side remark.
“And what if I am, Leila…”
Her smile froze as she heard Tammy said those words.
She was caught off guard as if she was processing her every word.
“What if I am?” She uttered once again.
That served as her confirmation.
Her ears weren’t playing with her.
She really heard her say that.
“I am a seer, Leila.” Tammy finally declared causing her to be so damned speechless.
