“What the hell?!” Leila couldn’t stop herself from uttering those words.
She couldn’t believe what was happening.
Tamika simply broke her glance at her and simply went towards the sink to rinse her hand as if she had no serious injury to her hand.
Her lips were still ajar as she watched her, like she wasn’t hurt at all. Even though she knew that her wound was a bit deep and there was a lot of blood.
“Don’t worry, this is just a small cut.” Tamika explained without any trace of emotion at all!
Leila pursed her lips together as she went towards her.
“Just a small cut?! Look at your hand!” She uttered in pure disbelief.
However, before she could even get closer to her her feet stopped.
She inwardly shook her head.
‘No… I shouldn’t trust her… Not yet… Or simply… Not ever…’ A huge part of her commented inside her head.
She looked at her coldly though she couldn’t hide her annoyance because she didn’t even tend her wound seriously.
‘Perhaps, this is her tactic to get closer to me… This might be her trap…’ She anxiously stated inside her mind.
She didn’t want to trust easily.
Like what she decided to she would not give it that simply. Even though she had a hunch that Tamika might be telling her the truth that she saved her.
Tamika stared at her briefly and gave her a small smile.
Leila swallowed the lump in her throat as she was looking at her foolishly.
She didn’t know.
There was something in the way she looked at her… the way she had smiled at her… the way she acted towards her…
And Leila didn’t even pinpoint what it was.
Then, Tamika put some strange leaves and oil in her hand before putting some bandage on it. However, she just couldn’t do it right.
In the end, Leila had finally moved towards her and helped her put on the bandage.
She wanted to get annoyed… even point Tamika’s strange glances at her… She wanted to tell her to stop but she bit her lower lip and let the awkward silence take over between them.
“Thank you…” Tamika gratefully said as she finished putting a bandage on her wound.
She smiled at her from ear to ear but it didn’t reach her cold looking eyes.
That was it.
It was the one that she was thinking of. There was one thing that was just so peculiar about her.
Her deep purple eyes.
They were so lovely yet it was so cold and distant… even reflecting mystery beneath them.
Leila couldn’t stop looking at them.
She was really amazed by them.
“You can stop looking at my eyes now. You might get a shock in your life once they turned into something more peculiar…” Tamika commented all of a sudden causing her forehead to crease.
She looked at her curiously.
And no matter how much she tried not to ask her or even talk to her. She couldn’t. Perhaps, it was because it was her nature to be nosy and talkative. Or was it because Tamika’s presence was just… was just making her feel like she could spill all the beans to her, and she would certainly keep it all her secret.
She didn’t know.
Her aura was just so light and heavy at the same time.
There was a part of her now that as if she could tell her everything.
But there was also half of it that was just so heavy to deal with… something enigmatic and dangerous.
And Leila didn’t even know the meaning behind her every word.
But she decided not to ask anymore.
She put the bandage back in the small box on the table. And she was about to go back to her room when Tamika spoke behind her.
“Aren’t you going to ask me?” She inquired seriously causing her to turn her back and look at her.
It was as if she was trying so hard to be friendly to her, but she was failing miserably. She couldn’t even smile warmly it would always end up cold and distant.
Tamika suddenly let out a deep sigh.
“I know that my features just won’t let you talk to me. But I apologize. I can’t simply change it. It is already my genuine and normal expression.” Tamika explained without her asking about it.
Then, Leila let out a deep sigh and looked at her seriously.
Perhaps, she would try talking to her. She would try giving her the chance to trust her. Maybe she would give her the answers she was looking for.
“Where are we? How did you find me? Why did you save me?” She asked one after the other.
Tamika let out a deep sigh.
“Are you really sure that you want to know? There are some things that I can’t explain further, Leila. And I hope that you can find it in your heart to trust me… Especially when I don’t really know personally and let you here inside my humble abode.” Tamika said seriously causing her to feel off guard.
Leila swallowed hard as she felt the growing guilt inside her heart.
She knew that Tamika was right.
However, she couldn’t blame herself for doing that.
“And I know that I couldn’t blame you for that. But then, I am still hoping that you can find it in your heart to trust and… love…” She added as if she could read her mind.
Leila slightly clenched her jaw as she felt like she was being pushed in the corner.
Then, Tamika looked at the things on her table.
There were medicines, bottles, various leaves and things that she didn’t even know what was.
“You are in the deepest part of the South.” Tamika suddenly declared causing her to gasp in shock and looked at her.
Tamika was already looking at her seriously.
She almost gasped for breath.
“And it is fate that brought me to you. It is the moon goddess’ will for me to walk that way and save you.” Tamika continued.
Leila, on the other hand, was simply looking at her as if digesting her every word.
“That was it. I don’t have any hidden agenda. I don’t even have deeper knowledge about you, Leila. All I know is that you have to be strong. You have to be cautious. And you have to live in order for you to fulfill your destiny. And now… This is the moon goddess’ telling you to start a new beginning. That it is your choice of what fate you want to attain.” Tamika’s words suddenly hit her like a ton of bricks.
To be honest, she wasn’t expecting those words from her… from a stranger. She didn’t even know how she knew what might be running into her mind right now.
But she was right.
She was thinking about those things. She was thinking about the words she had uttered. She was thinking that maybe this is her chance to start all over again.
