“Who are you?”
Regardless of how dry her throat was and how her senses mess up with her, because an unknown and strange woman appeared in front of her, she managed to utter those words.
And Leila wanted to clap at herself for that.
Especially when it came as coldly and as bravely as she thought it could be.
However, the woman’s expression didn’t change even a bit as she asked her that question.
It was as if she was just looking at a mere object that she had seen her like forever.
She was certainly no, totally weird.
Then, in a matter of a few more seconds, she felt her body become weaker and weaker making her swallow hard.
“You are still weak. That’s understandable. You have fought death you have to eat.” That was her answer instead.
That made her forehead creased a bit more.
It was as if she didn’t mind her words. It was as if she had her own world to deal with. And that she was just there for her to take care of.
Well, that was what her guts were telling her right now.
Most especially at the way she looked at her and cared for her.
However, she couldn’t trust anyone right now.
Well, she might have lost her sense of trust after everything that happened.
“Just answer me. Who the hell are you?” She uttered those words for the second time.
This time, she couldn’t hide her annoyance any longer.
The woman simply nodded her head as if she finally understood something.
“I saw you in the woods and decided to help you. It seems like you have gained consciousness. This is a good sign. I have brough food. Don’t worry, there is no poison in that.” The peculiar woman replied instead of answering her question.
That made her so damned speechless.
This woman seemed to really have her own world ignoring my words.
Damn it!
Leila looked at her weirdly as the woman walked towards the small table just below the bed. She didn’t bother walking towards her bedside table instead to bring her the food in the bowl.
Her stomach churned silently upon smelling the sumptuous food. It was as if she had not eaten yet for the past few days and…
‘What the heck!?’ Leila commented inside her head.
“What the heck happened? Where am I? And who the heck are you?” She burst her questions one after the other.
She almost forgot what she had been thinking about a while ago.
This woman just messed things up inside her head. And right now, she needed some answers. But she also has to weigh things if she must.
Whatever the woman’s answer was she had to weigh things accordingly.
She won’t trust easily.
That was her new motto now.
However, her head slightly throbbed as she was trying to stay calm and collected despite whatever was happening around her. She had to know.
Who this woman is?
Even though she would tell her that she is trustworthy enough as if she would believe.
There would always be someone who would betray you.
And those people unfortunately were the ones that was close to you… dear to you… someone you care and love.
Leila gritted her teeth as in her mind thought of someone.
She immediately tried to stop herself from thinking about him anymore.
The woman suddenly shook her head as she gently placed the bowl of food on the table. She was looking at her with her face void of any emotion. She didn’t even bother answering her damned questions.
Leila didn’t know how to react.
It was as if her mind was blank, and she didn’t know what to think about.
Furthermore, this woman…
She couldn’t decipher whether she was a friend or a foe. All that she knew was that she was truly not good in decerning people.
And she learned it the hard way.
Right now, she had to be more cautious and alert. She should be rational and mindful. She didn’t want to be impulsive or even be driven by her own emotions. She had to think rationally starting today.
“Stop overthinking and focus on getting well. Your questions will be answered soon.” She said using her cold tone of voice.
Leila didn’t know whether it was her normal way of talking or she was also as cautious as her.
Whatever the reason that she had she doesn’t want to trust easily.
“For now, eat and be strong. You still have a lot of things to face, Leila…” She called her name making her mouth slightly ajar.
She looked at her with her eyes wide.
“How did you know my name?” She asked in between her gritting teeth.
“Do you know who I am? How? Are you spying on me? Who the heck are you?” She asked furiously.
But the woman simply stared at her like she was just looking at a person, trying to decipher every bit of her.
“Just call me Tamika. If you want to know more about me, make sure to tell me your story, too.” She replied seriously making her shut up.
She bit her lower lip as she glared at her like she was some sort of a puzzle that she couldn’t comprehend.
But the weird thing was, the woman also did the same thing.
She was looking at her like she was a puzzle that she was willing to solve.
Then, she went out quietly.
The very moment, the woman named Tamika shut the door she instantly breath out loudly. It was as if the room was too crowded for the two of them.
Leila didn’t know but the woman seemed to be too intimidating.
Perhaps, it was because of her cold and stoic expression.
‘But be careful, Leila…’ Silver commented inside her head all of a sudden causing her forehead to crease.
“What do you mean?” She asked curiously.
Silver stayed quiet.
And Leila almost thought that she had gone away again.
‘She seems to be not an ordinary person… Don’t trust her… Well, not just yet.’ Silver thoughtfully reminded her.
Leila let out a deep and audible sigh.
“You don’t have to remind me of that. I know.” She replied as she looked blankly at the huge window with wooden frame.
The window was unclear as she was thinking deeply of her situation now. It was like the window still unclear. Everything is still messy around her and even though she didn’t want to agree to that intimidating woman, she had to.
Because she is right.
She had to get well soon and become stronger.
Perhaps, one of her goals right now is to know whoever it was.
She had to know how the heck she knew her.
But right now, she had to eat since her stomach was already growling. And she didn’t want another war with it.
And later, she would make sure that her questions wouldn’t be left unanswered anymore.
