I climbed down the stairs and walked into my room in anger. I did not want to believe what Lucy had just told me, but there are so many reasons to believe her.
**
First of all, the picture was taken at Crystal’s house. Secondly, she had always stopped me from coming into her house, clearly because she was hiding something from me.
But when I asked her if she was seeing another man, she replied in the negative and just yesterday she finally confirmed that she was keeping a secret from me.
But if having a mate and a child was the secret, why was she excited about it?
The third reason why I think Lucy might be telling the truth is that I had caught a baby’s scent on Crystal in the past but she denied it, she claimed it was the baby passing by.
With all this, I was really confused. What was I supposed to believe now?
Finally, I remember the day I was intimate with Crystal. I had seen marks that were similar to cesarean scars on her stomach, but she claimed she had undergone surgery in the past.
**
I went and sat beside her on the bed, then patted her head. She had been sleeping since 11 a. m. and it was 3 p. m. now. She’s really unwell.
I don’t want to doubt her but she has put me in a situation that I am forced to, but I will confirm before I start pointing fingers at her.
I should go and see for myself, I should not believe anything Lucy says until I confirm it with my own eyes.
I think I should go there right now and find out if what Lucy had said is the truth, that is the only way I can clear these doubts in my mind.
I called Blake immediately and asked him to stay with Crystal, he’s the only person I can trust to look after her in my absence.
But however, before I left, I gave him a warning. If he even comes close to her, let alone touch her, I will kill him with my bare hands.
I got into my car and headed for Crystal’s house. I tried to push the negative thoughts behind. I refuse to believe that Crystal has been lying to me, there is no where she has been lying to me all this while, she looks too innocent to play such stunts.
But then, the young man in the picture Lucy has shown me, is the same man I had seen her with at her school, the one she claimed was her new classmate.
I just wish she was awake right now, I would have believed anything she said because I trust her completely.
Before long, I arrived at Crystal’s step parent’s house. I got to the door, took a deep breath in, then let it out.
I pray that what Lucy said turns out to be a lie, because if it’s the truth and I find another male here, I would have to fight to end his life.
Crystal belongs to me and I won’t share her with any man, especially not a vampire.
I first pushed the door gently and it opened slightly. It was not even locked so I guess I don’t need to knock, I should just walk in and take whoever is there by surprise.
I pushed the door slowly until it was wide enough for me to enter and I took a step in.
I sighed and wondered if I was doing the right thing, but it was too late. I was two steps in already so I had to proceed, I walked into what I guess was their sitting room and my eyes saw something that made me freeze.
A young boy, he was sitting on the couch wearing a sad face, his eyes were fixed on the TV but it didn’t look like his attention was there.
“Hello…” I called softly in fear.
I was afraid that Lucy’s words were about to be confirmed as true, that Crystal really had a son with another man.
The kid turned his attention to me and he crumpled his face. I was a stranger, so obviously he was wondering what I was doing in here and who let me in.
He got down from the couch and started walking towards me without a look of fear in his eyes. The more he came in my direction, the more my heartbeat increased its pace.
I was very much afraid but the fear changed to shock when he finally approved. I crutched down to his level with wide eyes, I could not believe what I was seeing.
It seemed like I was staring at my five-year-old self. The same hair, the same eyes, the same attitude, the same boldness and height.
This was just a younger version of me, which can only mean that this child is my child. I have a child with Crystal!!
“Hello Mister, I think you forgot to use the doorbell,” he said with a wrinkled eyebrows.
Oh my god! That voice, it was like Crystal’s but with a bit of manliness.
“Um… I don’t think there was a doorbell there, little one.” I said, unable to hide my excitement as it spread on my face in the form of a smile.
“Then you should have just done it the old-fashioned way, you should have knocked and not address me as little one, you should have called me prince. I am royalty!” He said in a stern voice and I chuckled.
Hearing those words with that attitude reminded me of what I was like as a kid, I was also very stubborn and I got everything I wanted from my parents.
“Alright prince, I am sorry I didn’t knock before coming in. Tell me, is anyone at home?” I queried.
He folded his arms and looked around. “If you have a message, then you should leave it with me. I am the man of the house now.”
I couldn’t help but smile like a fool. I was looking at my own flesh and blood, the pheromone between us was the same. This was obviously the happiest moment of my life!
“No I don’t have a message, I had actually come to see you,” I replied
“Really? Did Mummy send you here?” He queried.
I nodded. “Yes, your mum sent me to see you,” I lied.
“Well, where is she and why isn’t she back yet? She sent the other aunt to come and get me earlier, but she left and never came back. Now you are here too, I’m not going to let you go until you take me to my mum.”
When he said the other aunt, I guess he was talking about Lucy, he must have lied to him as well.
“Tell me prince, how old are you?” I asked curiously.
Even though I was already certain that this child is mine, I wanted to confirm by knowing his age.
The first time I had gotten intimate with Crystal was on the full moon night four years ago, so if the child was older than that, it could mean I am wrong.
“Well… I am three years and a few months old,” he replied and my face lit up with a smile.
“Also, when I said you should call me a prince, I did not mean that you should actually call it like a regular name. My name is Aidan but you should refer to me as a prince,” he added quickly.
I chuckled. “Aidan! That is a beautiful name and don’t worry, I would call you like a prince because you are actually one. So tell me prince Aidan, who is your father?” I queried
I have confirmed that the child is mine now but I also have to confirm that there is no man in Crystal’s life, because even if there is, I will still take my mate and son with me.
Aidan sighed and bumped his palm on his forehead.
“How many times do I have to explain to people that I do not have a father?” He asked with an angry face, and my smile disappeared.
As much as I am happy that Crystal has not moved on in all these years, I am not happy that she didn’t tell my son about me, she made him grow up with the idea that he had no father.
Did she not have plans of getting back together with me?
“So, are you going to take me to my mum or not?” My sweet little Aidan queried.
I smiled in excitement. “Don’t worry, of course I will, your mum is currently not feeling fine but I will take you to her. Maybe she would feel better after seeing you,” I said and he smiled.
That same breathtaking smile that Crystal has!!
I took his hand and was about heading for the door, this was supposed to be a happy family reunion for me, but things went wrong the next minute as I felt a force drag the child off my hands.
I turned around in surprise and saw a middle-aged woman holding Aidan with a small knife to his throat, and an elderly man standing behind her with a sword in his hand.
Was that Crystal’s step parents? But then, why are they threatening her son’s life?
To be continued!!
