* * * * * Lucy’s POV * * * * *
I sat on a stool, facing the mirror while applying makeup to my face. Just then, the door opened and Simon walked him.
“Did you get her address?” I asked, with my eyes still fixed on the mirror, while I rubbed the little red dot on my nose with the help of my middle finger.
“Yes I got her address,” Simon replied and came to stand behind me.
“Good, send it to my phone number.” I smiled and rubbed my lips together.
“But why do you need her address? What move do you plan to take next?” He queried with curiosity in his tone.
“Hmm… Since Crystal is ill and unable to go home, I would use this opportunity to go to her house in search of anything that I could use against her. I need to find clues that are unfavorable to her so that I can use it to separate her and Logan.” I explained with a smile.
He folded his hands and shook his head. “If you don’t find any, are you going to give up on this obsession?” He asked.
I was in the process of darkening my eyebrows when he said that. I paused and looked at him through the mirror.
“You think I am obsessed with Logan? Well you are wrong, I am obsessed with the position of luna and I have every right to be. I have had this dream since I was a teenager. I have worked so hard to put everything in place so I won’t let anyone ruin it now.
As for your question, I am sure I will be able to find something but if in the case that I don’t, then I will just have to come up with a new plan, but I cannot let Crystal take my position.” I stated.
“Why are you so obsessed with being the Luna of this Pack even though you don’t love Logan? The union would only bring your pain if you are to succeed, why won’t you understand that Lucy?”
“Listen, if you are tired of supporting me then you can leave, I will do just fine without you but you have no right to tell me what to do with my life. Is that clear?” I queried and continued with the eye pencil.
Who does he think he is?
“I am not telling you how to live your life but I am only advising you because I love you. Logan never loved you and he can never love you. Is that the kind of relationship you want to have?”
I sighed. “I already told you Simon, I don’t care if Logan loves me or not, my only goal is to be Luna, that’s all I care about,” I replied.
“Well if that is the case, there is another way. You are an Alpha’s daughter and your father has no son, so if you get mated to someone else, you could either take the position of Alpha or let your mate take it then you become Luna. That’s a win-win situation,” he suggested and placed his hands on my shoulders.
I paused and tried to think about what he had said. Well it made sense but I already have my eyes on the New Dawn pack because they are above ours and my family and friends also think that I will be with Logan.
Going back to my Pack would be a disappointment to them and I really don’t want to disappoint my parents, but in order not to continue the argument with him, I decided to pretend like I accept his idea else he would not let me do my thing in peace.
“Fine, but I will still keep trying. If eventually all of my plans to secure the position don’t work, then I’ll consider your idea.”
He smiled. “Great, and I will be your mate right?” He asked.
I chuckled. “I haven’t said that yet, I only said I would consider your idea if I don’t succeed and you are not wishing me failure now are you?”
“Oh no, as much as I want you to fail, I wouldn’t wish you failure, you will find it yourself because no one can cheat mother nature.”
I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him through the mirror. “Jerk!”
He laughed and went to sit on the bed.
“If you sit down beside me all day and night, I don’t doubt that Logan would find out about us soon. So you better get up and leave before he notices.” I warned him.
“Hahaha… And what makes you think that he doesn’t already know?”
“The fact that you are still alive, he would rip your head off your body the moment he finds out.” I giggled.
“No, you are wrong. He won’t be mad at me, in fact he will be happy because I have taken away his problems.” Simon chuckled.
I grabbed a comb and threw it at him but he was quick to catch it.
Damn it! He has good reflexes.
“You are violent, I love it!” He chuckled.
“So you are calling me a problem and a violent one at that?” I frowned.
“Well I also said I love it, don’t omit that part.” He smirked.
“Arrrghhh!” I groaned.
This guy is crazy, how did I even get involved with him?
* * * * * Omniscient Narrator * * * * *
Crystal’s step parents walked into the sitting room. They both looked worried.
“Have you tried her number again?” Her step mum asked. She was the one amongst them that lacked patience.
“Yes, it’s still not reachable.” Philips replied.
“That silly girl! I asked her to come back early so that she can stay with her son, but it’s already 10 a. m. and she isn’t back. Who does she expect to look after her son while we are away?” she complained.
“Relax Martha, that shouldn’t be a problem. Aidan is not a baby anymore, he can stay alone until his mum comes back. I mean, Crystal usually leaves him at home whenever she is out, so I am certain he will be fine. But I am just worried that she has come back and ran away with her son.”
“Hahaha!” His wife laughed. “Come on Phillips, do you think I am a fool? First of all, she would not be able to travel because she has no money. Secondly, I had hidden some of her very important stuff and she wouldn’t leave without them,” Martha assured.
“Wow, that is smart of you. In that case, I don’t see anything that we have to worry about. Since it’s important that the both of us attend the meeting, I think we should leave him here alone.
Crystal will probably come back before we do, then we can find out from her if she was able to accomplish the task.” Her step dad said.
“Yes you are right, and I don’t see any reasons why she would give us an excuse if she returns. She slept over there which means she was with the Alpha throughout last night, she must have convinced him to awaken our wolf clan sword.
We would finally be powerful again. Our clan will rise back to the top and everyone will fear and respect us.” Martha laughed evilly and her mates laughed with her.
“Alright, we are late already. Go and tell that kid that we are leaving so that we can be on our way,” Phillips instructed.
The middle-aged lady nodded and headed up the stairs while her excited mate stood at the main door waiting for her.
They believed that their dreams were about to come true and that was worth the excitement, but who knows what fate had in store for them, only the future could tell.
