After lunch I climbed up the stairs and went to my room. Aidan was laying on the bed when I walked in, he was looking sad.
“Hey sweetie,” I said and sat on the side of the bed. “How are you feeling now?” I smiled.
It really pains me to see him in this condition. My boy is usually healthy and cheerful but for two days now, he has been laying on this bed quietly.
“I am fine Mummy, can I go to school tomorrow?” He asked.
“Hmm… I don’t think so but if you fully recover tomorrow, then you would go to school on Wednesday okay?”
He did not seem pleased with the information, he looked rather disappointed.
“Okay,” he muttered sadly.
He has lost a lot of weight in the past two days. The doctor said it was due to something he ate and now I am starting to wonder if my step parents had a hand in this.
I mean Aidan was healthy the night I had left him here, then I called my step parents and told them that I was coming to pick him up in the morning, when I came here the next morning they told me I can’t leave the city because Aidan has fallen ill
So maybe they had made him fall ill on purpose to stop me from leaving the city.
Gosh! How come I am realizing all this now?
They had been playing me from day one just for the sake of power, I thought the relationship was more valuable to them but I was wrong.
After staying with my son for a while, I decided to go downstairs and meet my step parents. I need to put an end to this mystery on my identity, I would have to trick those old people into releasing my werewolf powers, it all comes to an end today.

Crystal’s stepmom and step dad sat on the couch discussing, her stepdad was upset with her stepmom.
“I can’t believe you Martha, she’s just a young woman but she is smart, the way you did it made it look like you only cared about power and nothing else,” her stepdad scolded.
“Don’t give me that look Phillips, we both know that’s all I care about; To make our clan powerful and dominant again,” she replied showing little or no remorse for her actions.
“Really Martha? So did you have to make her know that? When she had survived the accident, you should have comforted her and taken care of her wounds immediately, you should have at least served her lunch before you started making the request. Only the goddess knows what she thinks of you now,” her stepdad spoke sadly.
Martha sighed. She was tired of pretending.
“Forget about it dear, Crystal trusts me completely, she has always trusted me since childhood so it would only take a little pushing to convince her to do what we want, and if she still refuses… Then we can use her fears against her, we will blackmail her into doing it,” Martha said.
“Alright, if you say so, the deed has already been done anyway. Once we convince her to do what we want, then there will be no need for her anymore. She can take her child and go wherever she wishes, I don’t care,” Philip said and they smiled.
Just then they heard Crystal’s footsteps as she came down the stairs. The couple pretended like they were discussing something else, they did not know that Crystal overhead the whole discussion.
However, she did not confront them yet, since they had been using her she felt like it was time to use them back.
She came down the stairs and walked into the sitting room, she took a seat on one of the vacant sofas.
“Crystal, how is your elbow and knee? I hope the pain has subsided,” Philips asked, showing fake concern.
“Yes Dad, they are no longer hurting,” Crystal replied with a smile.
She sat patiently waiting for them to bring up the topic and before long her stepfather did.
“Crystal, your step mum had told me what happened earlier. I understand that this is difficult for you considering that he is your baby’s father but it’s the right thing to do.
Think of it from our own perspective, if Alpha Logan Stewart uses his blood to awaken our clan’s sword, our Pack would be powerful again, we would all be happy, Aidan included.
We would have peace, you will no longer be scared of Logan finding Aidan. Your stepmom told me that you think Logan wants to kill Aidan, if that is the case then you would not need to worry again, we got you covered and we would be able to protect Aidan as soon as Logan does it.
Finally, like your step mum had said, this is your mission too because you are a werewolf and a member of this pack so you have to do it,” he stated.
Crystal was amazed. She still found it difficult to believe that this quiet and caring man that she considered as her father for the past twelve years is also involved in this conspiracy.
“What if I say that I don’t believe you in the last sentence? You are all lying to me just to get me to do what you want. My own parents told me that I am human, that I had no wolf so why are you lying about it?” she queried
“Crystal it’s not a lie, how many times do I need to tell you that to convince you?
Your powers are sealed, you are a werewolf!” Her step mum said for the umpteenth time.
“Alright then, prove it. Prove that I am a werewolf by releasing my powers which you claim are sealed, turn me into a werewolf and only then would I believe you,” Crystal stated.
The old couple stared at themselves, then back at her.
Crystal knew that they had been caught in her web, if they were as desperate as she thought they were, then she had no doubts that they would release her powers. She intended to use them just like they had planned to use her.
There was silence in the room as her step parents pondered over the thorny issue.
“What could they possibly do now? How great was there hunger for power, was it strong enough to push them into making that decision or not?
