I thought I was the only one good at lying, but here I found someone who is an expert in the field.
Does he really want me to believe his words?
Does he want me to trust him again?
Does he think I would fall for his lies again?
Then he better think again, because that’s not going to happen. I have been deceived one too many times to be fooled again in this lifetime, especially from the person of Alpha Logan Stewart.
So he wants me to believe that he had only said those words to save me?
What do I look like? A fool?
“Please tell me that you believe me Crystal, tell me that you see the love I have for you. Look into my eyes and tell me that you don’t see it, the feelings are true and it’s clearly written in my eyes.”
Look into his eyes indeed.
He knows very well that his eyes are intimidating to me, the moment I look into them, I feel weak and find myself submitting against my will, then he takes advantage of it to make me love him again, only for him to hurt me again and again.
That is not happening, not this time, because I would not look into those eyes.
“Please say something Crystal, why are you quiet? Don’t you still believe me?” He asked and cupped my cheeks.
His hands were cold and I hate the fact that they made my heart race.
I am glad that I did not bring Aidan home, it seems like the goddess is supporting and protecting me after all. If I had brought Aidan home, then it would have been a different story right now.
“No Logan, I don’t believe you. It’s obvious you are only saying this to cover up, you did not expect that I would overhear your conversation.
I heard all the terrible things that you said about me, in fact if I was to choose between you and your mate, I will feel safer choosing her because she voices out her intentions openly, she doesn’t hide her true nature or lie to people, she is straight forward and not a chameleon like you!” I yelled.
That was right, Lucy does not hide the fact that she despises me, she doesn’t hide the fact that she envies me, she doesn’t pretend to like me but him, he comes to my front and says he loves me, then behind he calls me a sex tool, an instrument used for his satisfaction and pleasure.
“Crystal it really hurts me when you doubt me like this, what do you want me to do in order to prove myself to you? I am already willing to place a mark on you, why can’t you see it?”
Place a mark on me… What an act, I also fell for that.
“Just say it Crystal, I am ready to do anything to prove my love for you. I will do anything you asked me to…”
If I were him, I would be careful what I wished for because the way I feel right now, I could tell him to do something he would regret for the rest of his life.
Come to think of it, why did I even let myself fall for him? I knew that he was a werewolf who had a predestined mate so it’s obvious he was going to play me. Who knows if he is not also playing Lucy right now.
Just then, he turned his back to me and faced the window. He was about to go in that direction when I suddenly saw Aidan’s drinking bottle which I had not been able to put away.
My heart skipped its beat and my eyes widened. If he sees that bottle then he would ask questions, it’s obvious it was a baby’s bottle, my secret might be exposed. What do I do now?
Logan’s words struck my mind. He had threatened to kill any child that was not born for him by Lucy and that put fear in my mind.
I quickly went closer to him and hugged him from behind before he could proceed any further. I made him turn to face me.
“You don’t need to prove your love for me Logan, I believe you,” I lied.
“Really Crystal, do you believe me now?” He asked with scrutinizing eyes.
“Yes Logan, I really do,” I said then I pressed my lips onto his and started to kiss him.
While at that, I stretched my hand to the window frame and took the bottle without his notice, then I let it fall into a basket where I am sure he wouldn’t see it.
After that, I broke the kiss. He was smiling like a fool.
Even though I had only kissed him in order to hide away the baby bottle, I can’t deny the fact that I enjoyed it. His lips are magical or maybe it’s because I haven’t let another man kiss me, maybe it was normal with every other kiss with the opposite gender.
I should let Michael kiss me the next time he wants to, that way I can prove to myself that it’s just something normal, I am not really in love with him.
“I am glad to know that you believe me Crystal, I really do love you and I want us to be together,” he said
In his mind he has succeeded in fooling me again, only if he knows how wrong he is. I am never going to accept him, I just want to get rid of him so I can end this drama and go to bed peacefully.
“I also want the same thing Logan, I want to be with you alone.”
Hmm… I have become such a professional liar, I could see he was totally buying my lie without requesting for his change.
“So does that mean you will be returning to work tomorrow?”
Ha! In his sweet dreams, I am never going back to that castle, in fact after now, I don’t think he would ever see me again.
“No Logan, I already found a new job today,” I replied. “So I won’t be able to work in the castle anymore, please pardon me.”
“Oh, really?” He asked.
“Yes Logan, I found a job at a library, please look for a replacement.”
“No Crystal, I don’t think anyone would be able to take your place, not in my castle and not in my heart. But do not worry about it, I think I can manage the work on my own just as long as you are happy,” he said sadly.
“Alright then, take care of yourself.” I forced a smile
“I would, I might come to check on you tomorrow and any other day that I am free, you can also come over to my castle if you wish.”
“Alright then, I will think about it. Maybe when I am free, I could come over,” I replied and he nodded with a gloomy look on his face.
“I will leave now and sorry about the door, I’ll send someone to fix it in the morning.”
“No, don’t worry about that, I will take care of it and don’t come tomorrow please, I need to go to work.” I protested.
“Okay goodbye.” he concluded.
Well the next time he comes here, he’s not going to find me so there won’t be a need to send a handyman.
You have fooled me for a long time, Logan, but now you have been the one getting fooled.
