* * * * * Crystal’s POV * * * * *
I could see most of the girls were already ogling at him. I don’t blame them anyway, he is hot and cute.
He was wearing black striped jeans with a body-fitting white T-shirt. His shirt was short sleeved and I saw a little tattoo he had on his right arm.
I didn’t see that last night. His hands were covered with black thick hand gloves. I guess that was to shield himself from the sun, but his attire doesn’t look that protective to me.
Maybe he had extra in his backpack.
Mr Scott showed Michael an empty chair to sit on, then he exchanged a few words with the principal before the bald headed principal left the class.
Rhea walked in just that moment. She greeted Mr Scott who replied to her greetings with an order to leave the class.
Well she was a few minutes late and the pot-bellied demon does not tolerate lateness to his classes. I felt sorry for Rhea.
“Now as I was saying, before I got interrupted. One person in this class has to answer the question or you will all get a capital F!”
Seriously? I thought he had forgotten about this.
Now I wish I was Rhea, at least she would not have to retake the course with us. Her disappointment has turned into a blessing for her.
I looked towards Michael and caught him gazing at me, he smiled and I smiled back nervously. How was I even able to smile when my four months left in this school was about to increase to a year and four months.
“So my question is, State Pythagoras theory”
Huh? So that is the big question that he had been scaring us with? Well that’s a piece of cake for me. I am sure someone would answer it in no time.
I looked around but the students were gazing in the air, it looked like they didn’t know it. How could they not remember such an easy thing?
I remember learning it in high school and we also did it in my first year of college.
I almost burst into laughter when I saw Simone flipping through the pages of his book. He is dead meat for sure. Was he deaf or what? He had clearly heard the instruction that any kind of malpractice will lead to an automatic failure of the course, yet he was doing just that.
“Simone Smith, that is a good job you are doing there, please do not bother to take my exam this semester if there is any, because you have already failed this course,” Mr Scott spoke in his stern voice.
Poor Simone, he is certainly going to be back in this class next year.
I was still surprised that no one had answered the question yet. Did they not know it or were they hesitant like me?
“You all have two minutes left to answer that question,” Mr Scott announced.
What are you doing Crystal?
You know the answer, don’t be shy or we would have to be back here next year!
I gathered courage and raised my hand just the same time as Michael.
Interesting, it is till his first day and he’s already been impressive, trying to answer a question.
We both took our hands down at the same time, so that the other person could answer.
“Don’t bother yourself Mr McQueen, you are only joining us for the first time, so let Crystal answer it to save the rest from failing or she would have to fail with the rest of them.”
I sighed and got up. I guess this was up to me to save the class, or like Mr Scott has said… fail along with them.
“Sir, Pythagoras theory states that the sum of the squares of the two shorter sides of a right angle triangle, is equal to the square of the longest side called the hypotenuse.”
The class was quiet after I answered the question, even Mr Scott and that made my heart race.
Did I answer it wrongly?
Well if I did, then I will not only be embarrassed, but I will end up repeating this course next year with the rest of the students.
I looked at Michael and he smiled sweetly at me. That smile convinced me that my answer was correct, but why isn’t Mr Scott admitting it?
“That is very correct! You guys are lucky about that or you would have all failed this course and you better thank Miss Crystal after this class is over, you all owe her one year of your life,” Mr Scott announced and a few people grumbled.
I felt proud of myself and my accomplishments. Even though it was just a piece of cake, since it had saved all my classmates, I should feel proud for answering it.
* * * * * *
After the class had come to an end, the students started laughing over it, hailing insults at the lecturer behind his back.
Michael walked to my desk…
“Hi, miss brilliant,” he chuckled.
I laughed softly. “It is Crystal and you didn’t tell me you would be attending this college.”
He took a seat close to mine. That was where Rhea sat in class, I wonder why she hasn’t come in since then, did she go home from there?
“Well in my defense, I did not know that you study here either,” he replied with a smile.
He was way more handsome than he looked last night, and he had that ink on his face that made him look pretty badass.
“Now you know. How was your night?”
“Well, I walked home thinking about the pretty lady that had invited me for a delicious dinner, it was the most amazing night of my life.”
This guy knows how to flatter a woman, he is good at it.
“And what about you? I hope you had a blissful night?” He asked sweetly.
Blissful night? Ha!! Well apart from the part where I had to run to and fro to see Logan and the part where I had a fight with him, my night was good after all.
“It was okay,” I said with uncertainty.
“This place is noisy, do you know somewhere quiet we could go and have a little chat?” He asked.
Well, I know just the perfect place for a peaceful conversation in this college.
“The love garden!” I answered.
Huh? Love what?
I almost burst into laughter when he made that face.
“It’s a beautiful garden, called the love garden. It is also quiet and peaceful,” I explained.
“Well from the name, I believe that place is only meant for lovers,” he grinned. He looked even more cute when he did that.
“Yeah, but I’m pretty sure we can break a few rules,” I smirked and he chuckled.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t mind breaking a million rules to get to know you better,” he replied and I blushed. I like this guy
So since we had no more lectures for the rest of the school hours, I decided to hang out with Michael.
We went to the love garden as it is fondly called and had a pretty good time. He was fun to be with, always making silly jokes and flattering me while I laughed.
I had not been that happy in a long time and I was glad that I got to meet him. We became very good friends and got to know each other much better.
I also got to learn some new Vampire history. It was really fun hanging out with him, very very fun!
To be continued!!
