* * * * * Crystal’s POV * * * * *
After I had dressed Aidan up for school, I quickly carried him to my step parent’s house.
They were surprised that I had come so early in the morning.
I used my morning lectures as an excuse, but the truth is that I wanted to be ready before Logan shows up, so he doesn’t have to come inside.
I don’t know why he has to be so stubborn, but I will continue to do my best in hiding Aidan away from him.
I couldn’t make breakfast at home due to the fact that I was in a hurry, so Aidan and I joined my step parents at the breakfast table.
“Mummy, are you going to come pick me up from school today?” Aidan asked why drinking from his cup of milkshake.
“No honey, I have to go to work. Your aunt Mary or your big mum and dad would come and pick you up okay?” I smiled.
“Mummy, you no longer have time to play with me, you go out very early in the morning and come back when I’m asleep,” Aidan whined.
My poor child, I have been neglecting him recently due to school and work.
“I’m sorry my baby boy, I promise we will have a lot of fun this weekend, how would you like to go to the park?” I asked.
“The Pack?” He asked and shook his head in refusal. “No I don’t want to go to the park, let’s go to the zoo,” he protested with pouted lips.
He knows just how to make me give in to his request with that cute baby face. I must have done good in my past life to be blessed with such a beautiful and adorable baby.
“Alright then, the zoo it is. This weekend, it will be just the both of us, we will have a lot of fun. Happy?” I asked
He smiled and that moment it felt like I was looking at Logan.
I pray their paths don’t cross, or I have no doubts that Logan would suspect it’s his son at first sight.
Aidan was the exact duplicate of Logan when he was this age. Some time ago I came across one of his old photos while cleaning his room.
He was probably six or seven years in that picture and there was barely a difference between him and my Aidan.
“Mummy, can we see the Lions too?” he asked in excitement.
“Really? I thought you were scared of those.” I chuckled
“No mummy, I’m a big boy now, I am not scared anymore.”
I smiled and pinched his chubby cheeks.
“Naughty boy, now eat your food and quit chattering,” I scolded gently.
Just then my phone beeped, I checked and it was a message from Logan. He was in front of my house.
I jerked up immediately and my step parents stared at me in surprise.
“Crystal, is everything alright?” my stepmom asked with a quizzical expression on her face.
“Um, yes… totally.” I faked a smile. “It’s just that I am late and I need to go to college now,” I lied.
“Alright, be safe and don’t worry about Aidan, we would make sure he goes to school on time and also bring him back,” my stepdad assured.
I was glad to know that I had their support and they had my back.
“Alright then, goodbye and you smarty pants, be a good boy okay?”
“Okay mummy,” he smiled and I kissed him on the right cheek.
I picked up my notebook from the table and also took a napkin to wipe my mouth, then I walked out in a hurry.
Logan was already standing outside his car when I walked out, perhaps if I had waited a few more minutes he would have come knocking on my door.
He was dressed in a white tuxedo that made me wonder if he was going to a party or his office.
It had a shawl lapel and his inner jacket was beautiful. His inner shirt was a milk color.
If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, and anyone had told me about it, I would have thought that match would be a disaster, but it was a good pair
Or maybe it’s because it was on the body of Alpha Logan Stewart!
He looks good in everything he wears.
I think he should become a muse instead of a business tycoon, he would make every attire look fabulous and worth a try.
Oh, except for the fact that he wouldn’t smile while taking the picture shots.
“Hey, I wasn’t late was I?” He asked with a smirk.
“Nope, just on time. Let’s go before we get late,” I said
I was trying to get him off the property before someone from my family comes out and sees us together.
He was about to open the door for me when suddenly he froze, sniffing in the air like he had caught a strange scent, then he turned to me and walked closer.
He stopped right in front of me and sniffed my clothes.
“Baby!” He muttered and my heart jumped out of my chest.
“Huh? Baby?” I asked with a look of surprise.
Did he smell Aidan’s scent?
Oh no, this is terrible!
Everything I had worked so hard for has to come to ruins, my secret is exposed.
“I can smell a baby, were you with one recently? Where is he?” Logan queried, with his eyes darting around the environment.
My heart beat picked race as fear paralyzed my body.
“Um… No… No! I… I haven’t been around a baby in… a … a while,” I stuttered.
“But I can smell a baby’s scent on you, it’s very strong,” he insisted.
Damn it! He’s a werewolf so I can’t convince him otherwise, but I should think of a way to deceive him.
If he finds Aidan today, then only the goddess knows what he will do to him.
“Tell me Crystal, where is the baby? I know there is a baby close by, I can smell the scent on you, whose baby is it?” Logan queried.
The look in his eyes while he asked that scared me, he was too curious to find the baby. What do I do now?
His gaze fell in the direction of my house and my heart skipped a beat.
I said a silent prayer and just as if it was answered immediately, I saw a solution, a godsent solution!
“Yes, you are right. The baby is right behind you,” I said with a nervous smile.
He turned around slowly and saw the neighbor’s child that had just walked out of their house, heading towards our’s.
I breathed in relief.
“Oh, you see. I was certain I could smell a baby.”
“Yeah, now please let’s go,” I sighed and got into the car.
That was a narrow escape, I should be more careful around him next time, to make sure that my secret is safe.
Logan got into the car and drove out to the highway. I made sure to keep a little distance from him, so he doesn’t perceive the scent of Aidan on me again.
Maybe I should buy a nice body spray to use as a disguise after I am with Aidan, so he doesn’t suspect me in future.
We got to my college and he dropped me off at the gate, then he sped off.
