“Really? You don’t want to call me Zayne?” Zayned asked with a smile. He turned over to his left side so he could stare straight at Betty.
“I mean…everyone calls you Zayne, I just want to be unique.” Betty hummed, she but his lower lip, wore a little frown that would make Zayne agree to her request.
Zayne sighed, laid on his back while he stared blankly at the ceiling. Betty, upon seeing she got no response from Zayne stood up and placed her hand on Zayne’s bare chest.
“What are you thinking?” She inquired.
“Vincent.” Zayne replied to her, his face was expressionless as he mentioned the name.
“What?” Betty asked, her face crawling up in confusion.
Zayne’s emotionless expression suddenly disappeared as a warm smile formed in his lips;
“Didn’t you want a unique name for me? You just reminded me of my mother. She was the only one in the world that called me Vincent, she never called me Zayne. And I also remember the scar that was right on her forehead” He explained to her. Betty slowly withdrew her hand, stared blankly into the air and nodded her head.
“I understand. But since the name is so special to you, are you sure you want me to call you that?” She asked with a voice filled with a mix of emotions. A part of her voice backed her statement as it sounded sincere, while another part seemed to tackle the first one.
Zayne pulled her, and she fell flat on his chest. He arraigned her hair to a side, and kissed her on the lips.
“In this life, there are three people who are the most special to me. Two are dead, and the remaining one is you! So, you are allowed to call me that.” He replied to her with a smile.
Betty chuckled happily as she slapped her palms against each other.
“That’s great. Thank you, Vincent.” She said with a wide smile.
“I have some news for you. Killian will soon be at your mercy, and not only that…that your previous mate…Sara, I will make her your concubine so she would be at my disposal.” The thought of it only made her so happy that she grinned from ear to ear.
Zayne sat up on the bed, stared at Betty as he tried to understand what she just said.
“You’ve approached Violet?” He asked her.
“Sure. I gave her something to feed Killian with which will slowly drain off his powers without him noticing. Just wait till his powers are almost drained and then finish him off. What a perfect plan!” She said happily, nodding her head as she complimented her beautiful plan.
“But what if Violet turns against you? How can you be so sure she wouldn’t betray you?”
“Betray? There’s no option for betrayal, she doesn’t even have a choice…right, unless she wants to die, then she can disobey my words. Her life is right in my hand, and I can end it when I deem fit.” She stated with an air of elegance, tightening her palm and crushing it as she uttered the last statement. She raised her shoulders and smirked.
“Vincent, I won’t heistate to eliminate whosoever that’s against you, even if it’s the moon priestess.” She said to him.
Zayne instantly wrapped his right hand around her mouth while he placed his left finger on his lips.
“Don’t say that, or else you might incurr the wrath of the moon goddess.” He warned while Betty simply hissed, rolling her eyes in irritation.
“What moon goddess? She seems blind to me. I was in that heavy rain, wriggling in pain, yet she couldn’t deliver me. If not for your timely intervention, I probably would have died from the excessive pain.” She rubbed his chest and fumbled with his nipples. A huge thunder accompanied her statement and it began to rain heavily.
Zayne’s heart skipped a beat as the thunder hit the ground. It took him some moments before he could relax and laugh at Betty’s remark so hard that his eyes became reddened and filled with water.
” I thought the thunder was from the moon goddess. You see why you have no reason to curse the moon goddess.” Zayne was barely done with his words when a sudden knock landed on the door.
Betty and Zayne flashed some glanced at themselves, after which Zayne put some clothes on and went to open the door.
“My Alpha. There’s a strange woman at the entrance of the pack, she has refused to leave no matter how hard we chase her, even the heavy rain couldn’t stop her from making a scene. She looked old and ragged and she kept on calling a name.” A guard said to Zayne, which some how piqued Zayne’s interest as he curiously bit his lower lip.
“What name was she mentioning?” Zayne inquired, adjusting the door so he could stand properly.
“Vincent.”
“What?”
“She just kept shouting Vincent and we don’t have any Vincent in the pack. We’ve tried all means but she wouldn’t leave. I think she is crazy.”
Zayne’s eyes darted around as he processed the message the guard just delivered to him. He shut the door, swallowed hard and glanced at Betty.
“I will be back soon.” He muttered before dashing out of the room.
Following the guard’s lead, he arrived at the scene in a few minutes. The rain was particularly heavy at the area, and yet, there was a disheveled woman weeping uncontrollably in the heavy rain.
Seeing the woman in such a situation, his heart hammered against his chest, which made him hold his chest tightly.
He braced himself up and took some steps towards the wailing woman.
“My son, where are you? Give me my son, don’t snatch him away from me, give me my Vincent!” The woman’s wails traveled down Zayne’s ears.
“Be careful my Alpha. This woman is crazy, we don’t know her identity and she might harm you.” A guard warned as Zayne slowly approached the woman.
Zayne ignored the guard’s warning and proceeded to kneel beside the woman.
Slowly, he raised the woman’s unkempt hair, revealing a scar that sent lightning strikes right in Zayne’s eyes.
“The scar…you are…Mother!”
