“No. But there was a problem with the plane’s engine. I had to take another flight which got delayed I don’t think I’ll be there tomorrow. I’m sorry beautiful.”
“You don’t have to apologise Bruno I understand.”She couldn’t hide her disappointment.”Some things are beyond our control.”
“Please don’t be sad, I hate the look of despair in your eyes. I miss you too beautiful I’ll do everything I can to make sure I come home in time.”

“No tears. Those gorgeous eyes must glow with love.”The line was quiet it told him she was crying and trying to hide it from him.”Sage please. Don’t cry I hate tears in your eyes.”
“I’m not crying.”She lied.
“I hate it when you lie to me. Geez Sage I hate your vulnerability, I hate not being there to hold you and comfort you, to tell you everything is gonna be okay. I hate this distance between us but mostly I hate more not being able to look you in the eye as I tell you how much I adore you, how I refuse to live a life without you how the distance has made me realise how deeply I have fallen in love with the mother of my sons.”
Sage whole world spun around her before it stood still. Did she hear him right? Did he just say what she-… No he couldn’t have. All the air left her lungs.”What did you just say. What do you mean. What are you saying?”She couldn’t even browse her words.

I’ve fallen in love with my wife.”Sage was astonished, she knows she should say something, anything but she couldn’t, his words has left her speechless it has changed her world, her body was numb with happiness. “Beautiful I’ve gotta go. Sage was still in shock long after the call, sleep was the last thing on her mind. I love you Sage Romero.. that’s what I’m trying to tell you. I’ve fallen in love with my wife.. I’ve fallen in love with my wife.. I love you Sage.. I love you.. She jumped out of bed and wore her robe she went to the dock where she sat down and placed her feet in the water. Bruno loves her, he loves her. She asked God to send her an angel who’d love her someone she’ll call her own, someone who will love her for life, a perfect love. She’s finally found him, her prince charming and no one will take her love or happiness away. The way she was so excited sleep wouldn’t come that night her excitement was clear the following day when Bruno’s family came to wish the boys and bring them gifts.
“Where’s Bruno?”Their aunt Carmen asked.
“He’s in Greece and couldn’t make it.”
“Such a shame it’s their first birthday he should’ve been here since he wasn’t there for the birth.”Sage looked at Liam and Logan they seem more interested in the gifts than anything else.
“Yet she’s so happy.”Lana said, the jealousy clear in her tone.”Don’t celebrate too soon things have a way of falling apart.”
“Lana please. Not now.”Carlos said.”You more than welcome to leave if you don’t want to be here this is a family gathering and the last time I checked you’re not a Romero.”Angry she stormed out Sage didn’t care Lana won’t ruin her day she knows the other woman hates her. All she thinks about is Bruno the seconds and hours couldn’t run faster so he can come home she too cannot wait to tell him how much she loves him, she wants him next to her. To feel his arms around her, smell his scent, hear him say those magical words while making love to her. She wants to stay with him for the rest of her life, she wants to give it all, her mind, heart, body and soul. He blew her heart away.
“Lana was right. You look happy, you have the look of a woman in love.”Maya told her. How can two sisters be so different.”Marriage suits you.”
“Or the love that brother gives her.”Hugo said.”I know my brother can be an old romantic if he wants to be. Do you know he plays the piano very well but he won’t play for anyone.”
No she hadn’t known but the other night she had heard the piano playing in the family room Sage had been drawn to the music that’s why she had come downstairs but when she’d got there it had stopped asking Bruno had got her an answer of it had been his I-Pod she didn’t probe and had taken his word for it now she knows it had been him.”He’s shy.”Maya said. She wouldn’t put Bruno and shy in one sentence Bruno is many things but shy isn’t one of them. “Come on birthday boys it’s time to cut your cake. Margarita told us you baked it specially for them.”
“Yes.”Sage said.”Since they cannot eat any sugar this cake doesn’t have any but you’ll taste it’s still delicious as a cake that does have sugar and all the icing.”
“I should come to you for a few tips.”Maya said.”I wanna know how you coped and handled them being diabetic we know these little ones love everything that is sweet. We’ve been told our little ones also have a high risk of becoming diabetic since it runs in the family.”
“I’ll be a phone call away.”Sage said.”Don’t hesitate to come over.”
“Rafael and Sofia would be so happy.”Carmen said.”To see how well their sons turned out and how far they’ve come.”Her eyes fill with tears.
“Mom please.”Camilla said.”No tears it’s a special day.”
“I have a right to express my joy how ever I want. Where is your sister.”
“Probably at home sleeping after a night of fun.”Camilla said.
“Your sister will never change her ways. But let’s celebrate Liam and Logan’s special day.”Everyone spend most of the day Camilla had to go back to work.
She still hasn’t heard anything from Bruno, Hugo had called him his phone goes straight to voicemail. She cannot believe Bruno loves her it feels like a dream everything seems lighter all the colours more brighter the world is beautiful she’s seeing the world in a different light, she’s bursting with joy inside, her heart is blooming with unconditional love for him the second she sees him she’ll jump on him and confess her love too.”Thank you for coming.” Sage told Carmen and Maya later that day when she walked them to the door. “The company had been great.”Hugo and his uncle had left earlier on.
“Next time it would be me inviting you over for a one year birthday party.” Maya’s belly is growing by the second Sage is surprise she can still move around as if it’s nothing.”Come over for brunch sometime when Bruno won’t be here. I know it must be lonely in here alone Hugo goes away on music tours alot these days mostly I’m alone too so please don’t hesitate to come over and bring Liam and Logan too.”
“Thank you Maya for the invitation.”
“Goodnight dear.”Carmen said.”Let Bruno give me a call.”Sage nodded, she waved them off before going inside and helping Margarita with the boys they already got their shots now it’s time for their bath. The second they began walking there’s no stopping them from doing mischief, sometimes they even hide away from her and she has to look for them before giving them their shots, looking after them became more harder. Liam is always trying to get out of his crib to go to Logan so the two of them can be naughty together, Logan only does what Liam do and it seems Liam is becoming naughtier by the day when Bruno isn’t here his cheekiness seems to worsen, looking after one child needs an army with her two she feels like she needs a whole force. She found Margarita busy bathing them Liam on the other hand was splashing water all over thankfully Logan isn’t encouraging his behaviour.
“I thought after the day’s activities they would be exhausted and asleep by now.”Sage said joining Margarita.”They seem more awake than ever especially Liam.”
“Give them a few minutes you’ll see if you’ve noticed Liam always calms down when Logan is asleep and as you can see Logan is about to fall asleep.”
Sage glanced at him.”Ever since the surgery he isn’t like before he gets tired quickly.”She helped Margarita in finish bathing them.
“Don’t be worried senora he’ll be fine. Do you need me for anything else I’d like to have an early night if you don’t mind.”
Sage understood she’s been up on her feet the entire day, catering for them and helping with the boys she must be tired too and at her age she needs rest looking after the boys isn’t an easy task.”You can go Margarita I’ll put them to bed and since Bruno isn’t here you don’t have to work tomorrow. I’m here you rest and take the day off.”
