“So when is the wedding.”
“We haven’t decided on a date yet but Luca suggested having something small in a month with only our family present, he said later on we’ll have something big.”
“He’s in a hurry to make you his wife.”Sage smiled.”Do you agree with him.”
“I think I might be pregnant Sage, I didn’t get my period last week or last month either.”Sage’s eyes grew wide.”And I haven’t told Luca yet.”
“Did you take a test.”Sage asked.
“That’s why I came here, so we could do it together I’m kinda scared and don’t want to do it alone.”Kim took out three pregnancy tests.”To be hundred percent sure.”
“I understand.”Sage said.”With these two I didn’t want to believe it because me and Br-..”Sage stopped herself just in time from telling Kim who the boys true father is.”We used protection so it kinda came as a shock when I found out I was pregnant and that too when I had been four months along.”Sage took Logan from her.”You know where the bathroom is.”Kim left and returned a few minutes later.
“I can’t look.”She said.”I’m anxious. Would you mind.”Sage quickly went to check.
“You definitely pregnant.”Sage said coming back.
“Are you sure?”Kim asked.
“I don’t think three different tests would be faulty but if you still don’t want to believe it there’s always a blood test.”Kim shook her head and stood up, she began pacing the room.”Kim. What’s wrong?”
“I don’t think I’m ready to be a mother Sage.”She said.”It’s a big responsibility what if I’m not cut out to be a mother. What if I’ll fail as a mother. I’m not you you make handling Liam and Logan look so easy but we both know how tough it actually is. What if it’s twins too how will I cope with the pressure.”She sank down on the couch again.”I don’t know Sage.”
“You nervous it’s normal I had the same fears with the boys but the second he or she will be born that maternal instinct will kick in immediately. You have nothing to worry about, you’ll make a great mother and Luca will be by your side to help.”
“Babies are such hard work, raising them is a full time job. How do you do it and you all alone with no one to help.”
“It gets easy once you get the hang of things. I’m used it to by now because I’ve been coping since they were born at first it had been hard but I had Sean to help Gina too.”
“I admire you for taking care of them and working a full time job. Not many mother’s would do that at least I will learn from you.”She caressed Logan’s cheek.”They so adorable and cute at this age.”
“Until they start crawling and walking all over.”Sage said, Kim smiled.”You’ll be fine in the meantime you can practice with the boys for when that time comes.”There was a knock on the door.”I’ll be right back.”She said giving Logan to Kim she hopes it wasn’t Bruno. She found another delivery guy at the door she had thought he would stop since she agreed to go out with him but clearly she’d been wrong.”Can I help you.”
“Delivery for Miss Palmer.”
“May I ask who send this.”She saw it was a gift box neatly wrapped with a red ribbon, there was no flowers. Thank God her apartment had enough.
“Can you sign here for me ma’am.”
“I asked you a question.”On cue her cell rang it was Bruno.
“Everything okay.”Kim asked, she nodded and dropped the call but after a few seconds it began to rang again. This man was too much.”Who is it.”
“Delivery guy.”Sage answered.
“More roses and chocolates.”She asked.
“No. Do you mind watching the boys for a second.”
“Of course not take as much time as you need.”Sage quietly closed the door behind her and answered the call.
“Did you get my gift.”He asked.
“As a matter of fact I did.”She was breathless as if he was here with her.”I agreed to go out with you will you stop sending all this gifts, I don’t want it.”
“Have you opened it.”
“No and I’m not planning to. In fact I can’t accept it.”
“You don’t even know what’s inside.”He argued.
“And I don’t want to know Bruno. Please stop with the gifts.”
“Do you want me to come over and change your mind.”
Him coming over would be a bad idea, the twins are awake and not only that Kim is here too.”No!”She softly yelled.”Fine, I’ll accept it.”
“That’s my girl.”For some strange reason she gets the feeling he has that sexy grin on his face.
“Don’t call me that.”She said.
“My girl? Why not you will be mine.”
“No I won’t.”She took the box from the guy, he left.”I don’t belong to anyone especially you and never will.”
“Keep on fooling yourself Sage.”A shiver went through her at hearing him say her name.”But we both know I’m telling the truth. Don’t we.”Sage bit her tongue if she can answer him she will only dig her own grave.
“This is the last gift I’m accepting. Don’t send anymore.”
“I thought you women love it when a man spoils and buy you gifts.”
“Not this woman.”She said.”I’m more of a sentimental kind of woman, only what cannot be bought is more my thing. Material stuff come and go Mr Romero now if you done sending gifts may I go and enjoy my bath.”
“Of course. Call me if you need anyone to wash your back.”
“That won’t happen.”She heard him chuckle and so badly wanted to strangle him. Kim’s gaze ran up and down her length when she joined her again, Sage set the box on the table.
“Secret admirer.”She pointed to the box.”First flowers, then chocolates and jewelry now this. Anyone I know.”
Sage wanted to lie but what is the point Kim is a friend and she trusted her. “Luca’s friend.”
“Bruno.”Sage nodded, she notice Kim didn’t look or seem surprised so it could only mean one thing, she figured it out.”Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I couldn’t.”Sage sighed.”I don’t know. How did you find out.”
“Come on Sage, the second I saw Bruno it clicked. The night of the party I saw how the two of you kept on throwing secret glances at each other.”
“No I wasn’t.”She gave Sage an are you for real look.”Was I?”
“Forget about that.”Kim said.”Look at Logan and Liam the spitting image of their father anyone with half a brain will put one into one if they can look at Bruno and the boys.”
Sage nervously bit her lip.”If you figured it out so easily then he will too. What about Luca if he can know he’ll tell Bruno in a heartbeat.”
“You can’t keep them hidden forever Sage. He has to know.”
“Gina said the same thing.”She admitted.”But I can’t he’s engaged and Lana is very beautiful.”
“I can’t Kim.”She groaned.”What if he hates me for ruining his plans.”
“He’ll hate you for not telling him about the boys. For what it’s worth he doesn’t strike me as the type of man who’ll run away from his responsibilities.”
“What if he demands full custody.”Sage said.”What will I do then.”
“Do you really think he’ll be that selfish.”
“I don’t know what to think but my two angels mean the world to me and I’ll do anything to protect them.”
