Glen’s POV
A few days had gone by, and everything was going well.
Riff was around but spent a lot of his time in his room with Sophie. My parents were always together as well, helping around the pack, and the pack members had accepted what couldn’t be changed and what had happened with grace.
The only thing that didn’t sit well with me was how Harley acted a bit distant.
She was there for me and my brother, but there were times she kept to herself and talked less than she did back in the company.
It was like the talkative, cheerful woman I fell in love with was replaced by a mature, quiet, distant one.
“Son, where is Sky?” Dad asked behind me when he walked into the living room.
I turned in my seat and looked at him with a smile.
“Probably in his office,” I answered simply.
“He isn’t there; I checked,” he said calmly.
“Did you mind-link him?” I asked seriously.
“Not really; I figured he would be here with you or Riff since he isn’t in his office,” he answered.
“Try mind-linking with him then,” I said simply.
He moved closer with a warm smile plastered on his face and then ruffled my hair gently.
Ever since the spell was undone, he usually made gentle brushes through my hair or patted my back, and at times he hugged me out of nowhere.
It’s not that I didn’t like it or that I was complaining. It just felt like he was seeing me as a little pup.
“Dad, I am not a little pup,” I whispered, making him laugh loudly.
“Of course, I can see that,” he answered, then moved his hand to my back, patting it.
“But you are still my pup whom I love dearly. I missed your childhood and teenage years. But I refuse to miss out on your adult life,” he said and then dropped his hand.
“That’s why you should allow me to spoil you a little. It’s something funny and uncomfortable for an Alpha to do, but I want to…” he hesitated and lowered his gaze.
“Do it for your sake as well as mine. It makes the guilt I feel lessen,” he answered in a pained tone.
I quickly stood up and walked to where he was standing.
“I told you I had forgiven you from the bottom of my heart. Moreover, it wasn’t your fault or doing,” I whispered, then gave him a quick hug.
When I pulled back, I smiled widely to really show him how I had truly forgiven him.
“There you are, my other favorite Alphas,” my mother’s voice came from the corridor.
“You guys were here?” Sky asked as soon as he walked in with her.
“Yes, and you were with Mom all along?” I asked back.
“Of course, we were having a walk,” he answered simply.
“Wait, did something happen?” he asked in concern.
“Not quite,” our father answered and then moved to where our mother was and linked his hand with hers.
“We wanted the two of you together because we have something we want to tell you,” he said as I widened my eyes.
“Don’t tell me,” I whispered with a rapidly beating heart.
“Are you guys expecting another pup?” Sky asked at the top of his voice, shocking them.
“What? Did you not think of the same brother?” he asked me.
“Well, to be honest, I did. It was the first question that went through my mind as well,” I answered honestly.
“You two have rendered me speechless,” our mother said in a low tone.
“As much as that would be nice, that wasn’t the actual news we wanted to share,” our dad responded.
“Clyde!” our mother exclaimed, making him chuckle.
“What? I wouldn’t mind at all having another pup with the she-wolf I hold dear to my heart,” he answered as our mother’s expression softened.
Just then, looking at each other, we could both see how much they loved each other.
“Guys, we are still here,” I said to remind them.
“Right,” our father answered and then cleared his throat.
“So Berta and I talked about a lot of things yesterday. We came to understand that none of you will be going back to human territory because this will now be your workplace and home,” he said.
“We also can’t leave the company closed for long. Not because we are short of money, but because we can’t afford to let go of the people who helped us grow and made our company a better place,” our mother continued.
“That’s why Berta and I have decided to go back and live in human territory,” he said simply.
“What?” Sky and I asked together at the top of our voices.
“You have heard correctly; your mother and I will be going back to human territory and never coming back. Well, we will be visiting the pack but not staying for long,” he answered.
“Your father knows how to run a company as much as I do. Us working together will be amazing. Also, we truly need to have our own honeymoon phase and vacation, so what better place than human territory?” she asked, making me smile.
I understood completely what she meant. They were apart not by choice and missed out on a lot.
“Will you be okay?” I asked softly.
“Of course we will be. When we take over the company, we will have a lot of fun. Don’t worry, they all know me, and if something arises that I can’t handle, I will make sure to call you over,” she answered.
“Okay,” I said, then looked at Sky, who now had an understanding expression on his face.
“Just make sure to go on a lot of dates and be happy together, Mom and Dad,” he said seriously.
“Of course. You should also hurry up and mate with Harley and give us grandpups,” she answered.
I palmed my face and chuckled softly.
“Mother, stop saying embarrassing things, please,” Sky said with a soft laugh.
“It’s really not a joke. Hurry up and give us grandpups. We won’t run this company forever; we are growing old. So hurry up and give us a lot of grandpups who will take over the company as well as this pack,” she said, laughing loudly.
“We understand,” Sky answered seriously, making me laugh.
“What’s so funny?” he asked as I laughed even louder.
“You guys,” I answered, then looked at everyone seriously.
“I just love you all,” I said, and they all warmly smiled back.
“Come here,” our mother said, spreading her arms wide.
I walked there and hugged her, then was surprised when I felt Sky and our fathers’ arms wrap around us as well.
