Chapter 96

BONNIE
Bonnie slowly started to wake up as she heard a barking noise in the distance. Shit. Was it a dog or was it a wolf? She didn’t know and she couldn’t really tell. Her whole body was frozen and nothing
was making sense.
Maybe she could play dead and the animal wouldn’t bother her. Not that Bonnie could get up and run. She couldn’t feel anything and she knew this wouldn’t end well. She was also a slow runner and it was completely dark outside. Bonnie would trip before she could even start running.
She could hear the barking getting closer and closer. Tears filled her eyes as she laid on the ground. She didn’t want to die today but there was nothing she could do. She didn’t have the strength to call out or even try and fight the dog off.
“Bonnie!” someone yelled.
Tears rolled down the side of her face. She couldn’t recognize the voice calling out her name. Was it bad guys coming for her? Was she still on Rogan’s property or had she crossed into another enemy territory? [SR1] [CS2] [SR3]
She felt something wet touch the skin on her arm, making her weakly whimper. The barking noise got louder. She just wanted quiet. Why was he barking so loudly and so much?
“Quiet, Sim,” someone yelled.
“Daddy’s here,” someone whispered. “You’re safe now. I’ve got you.”
There was no way Daddy was here right now. Bonnie really needed to stop calling him Daddy. She’d done so well and then hearing him refer to himself as Daddy made her want to call him that again. It felt so right.
“I’m going to carefully pick you up,” Daddy gently said. “You’re okay.”
Bonnie didn’t believe this was Daddy. He wasn’t out here looking for her. He wouldn’t do that. Not when she’d told him Ethan wanted her to spy on him. He didn’t believe her about telling her brother no. Why would he?
She felt herself slowly being turned over and picked up. The heat from the person was slowly soaking into her and she let out a sigh. That felt so amazing.
“I’ve got you,” he whispered. “You just relax in my arms and I’ll keep you warm.”
Bonnie cracked her eyes open and looked up. Rogan was actually holding her. What was he doing out here? She pulled away from him. Even though she wanted all the heat he was giving her, she didn’t want to be near him. He’d left her alone, hadn’t responded to her, and didn’t want her anymore.
“Let me go,” she weakly whispered. “Point me in the direction of the road so I can get going.”
Daddy looked down at her with worry in his eyes. Why was he worried?
“What’s wrong?” Daddy asked. “Why did you leave?”
She stared at him for a couple of seconds before she closed her eyes. All she wanted to do right now was go back to sleep.
“Bon,” Daddy said.
She sighed. She really needed to stop calling him that.
“What’s wrong? Why did you leave?”
“I don’t want to talk about it,” she whispered. “Just point me in the direction of the nearest road and I’ll be on my way. I’ll be out of your hair forever.”
That was what he wanted.
“You’re not going anywhere,” Da-Rogan said. “I’m not giving you up. You’re never leaving me.”
Tears streamed down her face. He didn’t want her anymore but wanted to keep her. Probably to get back at her brother for doing something he had no intention of doing. Ethan didn’t hurt innocent women or children.
“We were made to be together and nothing is getting in the way of that,” Rogan said. “If I have to tie you to my bed until you agree, I will. You are never leaving me or Raynar again.”
Bonnie opened her eyes and stared at him in shock. This was a lot for her to take in right now.
“You would do that?” she whispered as her eyes started to tear up again.
She didn’t know why she was crying right now. What he said shouldn’t be making her cry.
Rogan gave her a small smile. “Shhh. You don’t need to cry. Daddy is here and is going to take care of everything. You won’t have to worry about anything ever again.”
Bonnie didn’t believe him though. Why would she when he’d left her? When they had left her.
“It’s not true. You didn’t want me anymore,” she whispered, tears streaming down her face. She wanted to be let go so she could leave.
“That’s definitely not true, Bonnie,” Rogan replied. Was he just saying things to say them now?
They had been walking the whole time they were talking. How far had she walked?
Bonnie hadn’t realized she’d gotten so far.
“I think there’s blood on her leg,” Angelo said. “Let’s hurry and get her back to the house so I can take a look at it.”
She should have been alarmed at the mention of blood on her leg, but she wasn’t. Maybe it was because she was feeling so numb.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” Daddy asked.
She laid her head on his chest and closed her eyes. All she wanted to do was sleep and relax. He was so warm and it was making her even more tired than she already was.
“Didn’t feel anything,” she whispered. “So numb.” “Shit,” Daddy said.
Bonnie could hear the panic in his voice.
“What do you mean numb?” Angelo asked urgently as they picked up their speed.
Bonnie didn’t answer though. She didn’t want to.
“Bon?” Daddy asked. “Can you answer Angelo, please?”
“No,” she whined. “No talkie.”
“You’re talking,” Angelo pointed out. “Just tell us.” “Numb,” she mumbled.
“We’ll get more out of her when she’s warmed up and more coherent,” Daddy said. “We’re almost there, Bon. Just a couple more minutes and then Angelo is going to look over you. We need to see if you need to go to the hospital.”
“No,” she whined. “No lookie.”
“Yes, Angelo is going to look over you. It’s not up for discussion.”
Bonnie pouted as she snuggled into his arms. The wind had started to pick up and she could feel the coldness but at the same time she was still numb. Was she alright? Was she almost dead?
“No wants to die,” she whimpered.
“You’re not going to die,” Daddy whispered. “I’m not going to let that happen.”
She shook her head against his chest. “Nearest roads. Needs to gets back to my brother’s house. Hitchhike.”
Daddy growled and if Bonnie was in her right mind, she would have been scared, but she had no reaction. She was so exhausted and numb, she didn’t think anything would shock her at this point.
“My woman will not be hitching a ride from someone else. You’re never leaving me,” Daddy said in a low voice. “And don’t think that again.”
Bonnie tried to push against his chest to get away from him, but his grip was so strong around her.
“Lets me go,” she whimpered.
“No, Bon. I’m never letting you go. You won’t be leaving my sight,” Daddy insisted.
She continued to try and push herself away from Rogan but he wouldn’t allow it. Exhaustion took over her body and she slumped against him.
“Such a good girl,” Daddy whispered. “Just relax while we go back to the house and Angelo checks you over.” “No,” she whimpered.
“Yes. Now hush and relax.”
