BONNIE
Bonnie walked around the house again, exploring until she’d seen every square inch twice. It was absolutely boring, but she didn’t know what else to do.
She was currently playing on her new phone. She discovered Daddy had at least put games on there for her. Some were puzzles, coloring, and action games but she would rather have a puzzle and coloring books in real life than on a phone app. But she couldn’t complain too much.
Maybe she could text him asking if he can get her real puzzles and coloring books. The worst he could say was no. With that thought, she pulled up his contact and started to type.
BONNIE
Can I get some real puzzles and coloring books with crayons or markers?
She hoped he said yes. And maybe this would bring him back to the house. Bonnie didn’t like being alone. It didn’t sit well with her.
DADDY
Sure. I’ll order some and bring them when they arrive.
He’d programmed his name to be Daddy in the phone he’d given her. He was really trying to show he was her Daddy, and part of her liked it.
Daddy was taking control and showing her who was boss.
Bonnie’s stomach grumbled and she rolled over onto her back. It had been grumbling for a while now but she’d tried to ignore it. Cooking wasn’t her favorite thing at all. In all honesty, she would rather starve than cook but she needed to eat to keep her strength up. And food had also been withheld from her for who knows how long.
Even if she did hate cooking, she wanted to eat. To feel herself chewing, tasting the delicious flavor, and enjoying it filling up her stomach.
She sighed and pushed herself off of the floor and started making her way toward the kitchen. In the fridge earlier, she’d seen milk, butter, and some protein drinks but that was it. She’d also managed to find some boxed mac and cheese which sounded absolutely delicious right now.
Bonnie pulled out a pot, filled it with water, and put it on the stove. She just needed to wait for the water to boil and then put the noodles in. Or was it put the noodles in now and then once it boils, the noodles were done?
She couldn’t remember and she honestly didn’t think it would hurt either way. Opening up the box, she pulled the packet of cheese out and dumped the noodles in the pot. She was just going to have to wait and see if this was the right way or not.
Bonnie waited until the water started to boil before she turned off the stove and pulled the pot off. She quickly grabbed a strainer and put it in the sink. This was the part she was always nervous about. She somehow always managed to hurt herself trying to drain the water.
“You’re okay,” she whispered. “It’s super simple.”
Bonnie grabbed the handle of the pot with one hand and the strainer with the other. She slowly and carefully started to pour the water and noodles out of the pan. She heard a creak behind her and startled. Quickly turning around, she found nothing.
Searing hot pain on her hand made her unable to focus on anything else. Crying out, she dropped the pan and it hit the ground. Tears streamed down her face. What was she going to do? What should she do?
Bonnie looked down at the ground and saw the noodles and water all over the floor. Without thinking, she found paper towels and started to clean up the mess. She needed to get this taken care of before Daddy got back. No doubt he wouldn’t like the mess on the floor.
Tears were still streaming down her face as she worked. Well, there went her lunch. Not that it mattered. There was no way she would to be able to eat now with her hand was hurting so much.
She gripped onto the counter with her good hand and took a deep breath in. Her vision was starting to swim and she felt lightheaded. The pain in her hand was like a thousand sharp needles going into her skin and she couldn’t get away from it.
Sobbing, she threw away the soggy paper towels and dirty noodles. She needed to do something about her hand. With each passing second, it was hurting more and more. The urge to throw up was bubbling up inside of her.
Running cold water, Bonnie ran her hand under the stream. Hopefully, it would help. Sticking her hand under, she took several deep breaths as the tears continued to stream down her face. She was still feeling lightheaded and nauseous. When was this going to end?
After what felt like eternity, when her hand was numb, Bonnie turned off the water and sat on the floor. She didn’t even attempt to dry her hand off. She was exhausted and in pain. Leaning her head against the cupboard, she tried to relax her body.
Should she call Rogan? Or would she bother him with her need?
She looked down at her hand and saw how red and angry it was. Bonnie knew she should probably call Daddy or even Angelo to tell them about her injury, but she didn’t want to bother them. Daddy seemed busy with things, at least he always said he was, and Angelo was the doctor. No doubt he was busy.
Bonnie laid her head down on the floor and held her hand to her chest. Maybe it would stop hurting after a couple more minutes. The longer it hurt, the more she wanted to puke and pass out.
Tears were still streaming down her face as she laid on the floor. Even if she wanted to call Daddy, she didn’t think she would have the strength to get back up and find her phone. Had she left it in the living room or had she brought it back in the kitchen with her? But it didn’t matter right now. Bonnie just needed to survive with this until the pain subsided or someone came to the house.
Bonnie closed her eyes tightly. Her vision was still wonky and going black around the edges, almost like she was about to pass out. Maybe it would be better for her to pass out than feel the pain right now. But at the same time, she didn’t want to pass out. What if something happened to her?
Before she could think or do anything else, she felt herself slowly drifting away and passing out.
ROGAN
What have you done with Miguel?” Lucius asked.
Rogan sighed. “I gave him a slow and painful death.” “Really?”
Rogan looked at Lucius and rolled his eyes. “Yes, that’s what I fucking said. He deserved it.”
Miguel really did. All his men knew they didn’t harm innocent people and he had harmed an innocent woman. It was punishable by death and everyone in the family knew that.
Did he find pleasure in giving Miguel a slow and painful death? Absolutely! It was a way for him to let out his aggression. What better way than on the person who’d caused Bonnie such horrible pain?
“So, what are you going to do about Ethan?” Lucius said.
“I don’t know yet. Ethan has been sending guys into our territory, roughing up some of my men,” Rogan replied.
“And what are you going to do about it?”
“Contact him and arrange a meeting. We need to talk about things.”
“And Bonnie?”
Rogan sighed. “I need to talk to her first before I do anything.” “About?” Lucius asked.
Did he really need to explain?
“Come on. Spell it out for me,” Lucius said. “Need to make sure you aren’t going to push her away from you.”
“I’m not going to do that.”
“I don’t know. First impression wasn’t good. Yelling for her to be put in the basement and telling her not to cry either.”
Rogan sighed and nodded his head. “Okay, sure. First impression wasn’t the best, but I know it would have been the same for you!”
Lucius shrugged his shoulders. “We aren’t talking about me. We’re talking about you.”
“I think I would like to talk about you right now.”
“Nope. Not happening. We need to make sure you don’t mess it up with Bonalicious and Raynar.”
Rogan leaned back into his chair. Lucius really wasn’t going to give up. There was no way out of this.
“Fine. I’m going to woo her,” Rogan replied. “Simple. She feels the spark between us. I’m going to show her I’ll be the best Daddy to her, and make her see we belong together.”
“And how does she feel about Raynar being in the mix?”
“I introduced Raynar to her before I moved her to the guest house. I briefly mentioned him also being a Daddy to her if she wanted, but no pressure.”
“And how did she take that?”
“She was overwhelmed and I told her she didn’t have to answer now. Asked her to think about it.”
Rogan hoped she would say yes. But he knew not everyone wanted to have a relationship with two men. And he couldn’t blame her if she didn’t.
“What do you think she’ll say?” Lucius asked.
Rogan shrugged his shoulders. “Don’t know. When I see her next, I’m going to ask if she has any questions.”
“And when will that be?”
“Soon. She asked for some puzzles and coloring books. I’m not going to withhold those things from her.”
Sometimes Rogan thought his men saw him as a monster. And sometimes he was, but not to innocent women and children.
“Security at the house?” Lucius asked.
“I wasn’t followed there. Don’t worry. I made sure of it and there are guards there for her. To make sure she is safe and doesn’t try anything.”
“You lock every window and door?”
“Who do you think I am? Of course I did. I couldn’t have her trying to escape. I even told her they were all locked and it would open if someone put the key and code in. She understood. I also gave her a phone to call you, Angelo, Raynar, or myself. Just to let you know.”
“Ah, so that’s how you figured out she wanted puzzles and coloring books.”
“Finally getting with the program.” Rogan chuckled. “But yes, that’s how I found out. And if she tries to contact anyone else who isn’t preapproved, I’ll get a notification and can either accept it or not.”
“You still have the cameras up around the house? How many times have you checked it since you left her there?”
“None, yet.” Rogan sighed. “Come on, let’s look.”
Rogan pulled up the security camera footage. He guessed she was probably in the living room or one of the rooms he showed her. But as he looked through the camera feed, he didn’t see her.
“Where is she?” he whispered.
Dread filled his stomach as he continued to search every camera screen. Where was she? The feed went to the kitchen and he glanced around. His breath got caught in his throat as he saw feet and hair sprawled on the floor.
“Shit!” Rogan yelled as he pushed away. “Call Angelo and tell him to meet me at the other house!”
He raced down the hallway and out to his car. He needed to get to her, fast.
Everything was a blur as he drove really fast toward the other house, not caring about anything. The only thing on his mind was getting to Bonnie. What happened to her? Why was she laying on the floor?
It looked like she’d passed out. Fear coursed through him as he parked the car and raced toward the house.
“Bonnie!” he yelled as he let himself into the house, and raced to the kitchen. “Bonnie!”
Why had he decided to leave her alone? He should have known she would hurt herself somehow while he was gone.
“Bonnie!” he yelled as he fell to the floor beside her.
