Johnny hugged her and they both fell onto the sofa.
“So, just stay here,” he said, leaning in to kiss her gently. “If you feel uncomfortable living in my house, I can transfer the property to you.”
“I’m not ready to get married so soon.”
“You don’t need to marry me. I can still give it to you.”
Tilda frowned. “Are you always this generous with women? This is a villa.”
Although she didn’t know the exact price, it certainly couldn’t be cheap!
“I’m only this generous with you,” Johnny said, his gaze unwavering. “You are the only one I’ve brought home to meet my parents. The others were just for fun.”
Tilda laughed. “That’s a classic line from a playboy!”
“I never promised other women anything! From the beginning, it was just for fun.”
Johnny wasn’t interested in pleasing anyone. Most of the time, he would meet someone at a bar, take them home for the night, and pay them off.
None of them stayed with him for more than a week.
Tilda smirked. “I forgot to ask, do you have any diseases?”
“What kind of diseases?” Johnny looked puzzled, then quickly explained, “Of course not! I’m very careful and always use protection.”
He was afraid too! Even without considering the risk of getting diseases, he didn’t want to accidentally end up with a child.
“From the way you say it, should I be praising you?”
“No need,” Johnny quickly replied with a flattering smile. “Once Ulric finishes his work, let’s have dinner with them again! We’ve met twice at the airport but never sat down for a proper meal. They’re going back to Sweden soon. Who knows when we’ll see them again?”
“In half a month, Rosalind will be back.”
Johnny raised an eyebrow. “Why?”
Tilda realized she had slipped and quickly waved her hand. “Just a guess!”
“Don’t let Rosalind come back. Let them stay together forever! Have you seen what Ulric has become? If Rosalind leaves again, I think he’ll die.”
“You have no idea how Ulric was during those four years after Rosalind left. He drove himself mad by filling his schedule with business trips, meetings, and overtime. His life revolved around work! The only free time he had was spent sending people to look for Rosalind and torturing himself by revisiting everything she left behind.” Johnny really thought his friend wouldn’t last much longer.
No human body could withstand such self-abuse.
He never saw Ulric smile during that time! It made Johnny work overtime too, just to avoid upsetting Ulric.
“Ulric really loves Rosalind,” Tilda commented wholeheartedly.
“And what about Rosalind? Does she love Ulric?” Johnny sighed deeply. “Honestly, I feel like her love for him doesn’t match what he’s given her.”
“Do you know that Rosalind almost died giving birth to Jake and Floyd? I was terrified when I signed the critical condition notice. I thought she wouldn’t make it.”
Tilda sighed, “You grew up in a normal family with doting parents. Naturally, you can’t understand Rosalind’s actions and decisions. But from my perspective, she’s given Ulric all the love she can.”
