“I’ll say it again, you are surrounded by us!”
This statement clearly infuriated Jaquan. He sneered and fired a few shots at Malachi. “You’re dreaming!”
A gunfight erupted. Kieran immediately pulled Lucia into a corner.
Malachi hid behind a building. “Keep shooting, and when we catch you, you won’t have any chance left!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Jaquan glanced at the black car that was emitting smoke. His expression turned complex. He quickly retreated toward a boat that had been prepared by the seaside.
There shouldn’t be any police deployed in the sea because the number of officers present was far from enough to capture him.
“Nelson!” Jaquan shouted to the black figure. “I will definitely avenge!”
With that, he fired a few more shots at the black car under the cover of his henchmen. Bang! Bang! Bang!
The black car smoked even more, and a woman’s scream came from inside.
The familiar sound caught the attention of both Nelson and Malachi. Nelson’s face changed drastically, and he strode forward.
“The car is locked, and there’s a time bomb inside. If you can’t get her out, she’ll die for sure!”
Jaquan had already boarded the boat and said from behind cover, “You must suffer as I did.”
The boat quickly started up, and bullets hit it without causing any damage.
A flash of light crossed his face, stained with blood. He revealed a grim and ruthless smile.
Callie frantically pounded on the car window, trapped inside. She had just finished a phone call when the vehicle suddenly sounded an alarm, and she discovered a time bomb hidden under the seat, counting down rapidly.
The commotion outside endangered the car. Callie knew she couldn’t sit still; she had to call for help.
“Help! Cough… Help!” Callie choked on some smoke.
The bomb’s countdown was ten minutes, and time was ticking away.
Suddenly, a figure appeared outside. He found an iron rod from somewhere and first smashed the driver’s side window, followed by a familiar voice. “Callie!”
Callie looked up and saw Nelson’s face turn pale quickly, veins bulging on his neck. He reached out his large hand to her. “Come here! I’ll get you out!”
Callie was trapped in the back seat, raising her hand in despair. “I’m locked in, I can’t get out.”
“Move back!” Nelson roared, stepping back and starting to smash the rear window with the iron rod.
Hearing the loud bangs outside, Callie burst into tears. “Nelson! There’s a bomb in the car! There’s no time!”
The smashing didn’t stop.
Malachi arrived quickly, anxious. “We’ve already called the city’s bomb squad! The fastest they can get here is twenty minutes!”
Callie shouted, “The bomb will explode in eight minutes.”
“Stay calm, with us here, you’ll be fine!” Malachi tried to reassure her loudly.
Callie couldn’t calm down; she cried even harder. “Malachi, I won’t die here, right? If I die, I don’t want to die disfigured.”
She cursed Jaquan a thousand times in her heart.
At that moment, with a bang, Nelson shattered the window. His expression was grim. “Stop talking about dying; you won’t die!”
With that, he leaped through the broken window into the car and said to Malachi, “Her hands are cuffed. Find scissors, quickly!”
