Seraphina
I had never seen Kael so enraged. He was like a madman, dragging me out of the restaurant with force.
Magnus tried to stop him, but I didn’t want to involve Magnus in this. I told him to let me go, knowing full well that Kael was a werewolf, while Magnus was just a human. If Kael wanted to kill Magnus, it would be effortless for him.
Fear gripped me at the thought, so I urged Magnus to release me.
As we exited the restaurant, I saw Vivienne standing there. She said something provocative to me, but I treated her words like air. I knew I had to address things with Kael first.
At first, I thought Kael would take me somewhere secluded to talk, but to my surprise, he intended to bring me straight to his apartment.
I resisted immediately.
Kael’s strength was not something I could fight against, and this time, he was determined. He picked me up effortlessly, leaving me no room to struggle.
When we reached his apartment, he tossed me onto the bed and kissed me aggressively.
His tongue pried open my teeth with ease, sweeping through every corner of my mouth. The dominant and overpowering aura he exuded made it hard for me to breathe.
He pinned me beneath him entirely, his hands roaming my body, kneading my breasts with rough intensity. The mix of pain and stimulation drew a moan from me despite myself.
Even though I wanted to resist, my body betrayed me, growing weak under his touch.
I knew I needed him. Ever since we had been intimate, I felt like a depraved woman, constantly craving his body.
Yet, my rationality screamed at me to stop this.
“Please, stop,” I pleaded, struggling against him.
But Kael had already stripped off my clothes, his hand slipping into my jeans.
No, no, no-this couldn’t go on.
I fought harder, thrashing against him.
“Seraphina, don’t deny it. I know you want this too,” Kael whispered, his breath hot against my ear as he bit it gently.
My ears had always been a sensitive spot. As soon as his teeth grazed them, my body went limp.
I wanted more. I wanted Kael to take me, to claim me completely.
No, stop it…
Suddenly, the dream I had of becoming a werewolf flashed through my mind.
No, I couldn’t let this happen!
My body had already changed since being with Kael, and I didn’t want his touch to turn me into a full-fledged werewolf.
But Kael wasn’t listening. His mouth moved over my body, biting and sucking, as he pulled my jeans off and slipped his fingers inside me.
The electrifying sensation coursed through me, spreading to every corner of my being.
My body’s desires grew stronger and stronger, but I knew I had to stop this.
With all my strength, I shoved Kael away.
I didn’t know where this sudden burst of power came from, but when I pushed him, Kael stumbled back a few steps.
He stared at me in disbelief, clearly shocked that I had managed to push him off.
“Seraphina, what are you doing?” he asked, his voice hoarse with frustration.
It was obvious he couldn’t understand why I would reject him.
But I had to do this. I had no other choice.
“Stop this, Kael. Unless you want me to hate you,” I said firmly, hastily pulling my clothes back on.
My body felt weak, my hands trembling as I struggled to dress myself.
Damn it. I hated feeling this vulnerable.
Kael looked at me intently. “Seraphina, why are you resisting me? Don’t you like me anymore?”
“I don’t like you, Kael. I’ve told you before-we should separate. You’re a werewolf, and I’m human. Stay away from me!” I shouted.
I feared that Kael’s continued proximity would eventually turn me into a werewolf too.
All I wanted was a simple, ordinary life. I had no desire to become some strange creature.
Yes, werewolves had extraordinary abilities and unmatched strength in battle, but I wasn’t someone who enjoyed conflict.
I was even more afraid of gaining such powers.
“No, no, no-you’re not human,” Kael said, pulling out a photograph and showing it to me.
I was stunned. It was a photo of me as a baby with my parents. I had no idea how he had found it.
Then I remembered Kael’s extensive connections. It would have been easy for him to investigate me.
In the photo, I was wrapped in a blanket as a newborn. My parents held me, their faces filled with joy. They looked so happy.
“Seraphina, the symbol on this blanket-you might not know, but it’s the totem of the Ebonwave Tribe, a werewolf clan. That tribe no longer exists, but when we see this mark, we know which clan it belongs to,” Kael explained.
I stared at the black shadow-like mark on the blanket. At first glance, it looked like any ordinary pattern.
I had never thought of the blanket as anything special.
But after Kael’s explanation, I examined it closely and realized it resembled claw marks left by a wolf’s paw.
Could it really be connected to werewolves?
“So, Seraphina, stop running from the truth. You’re a werewolf,” Kael said. “You’re not your parents’ biological child. They adopted you.”
“No! You’re lying!” I threw the photo aside. “My parents told me I’m their biological daughter!”
Could it be true that I wasn’t human?
I had lived my entire life as a human. There had never been anything unusual about my body-until I met Kael.
After meeting him, everything began to change.
I was convinced Kael was making this up to manipulate me.
“Stop lying to me, Kael. I won’t believe you!”
Kael claimed to love me, yet he allowed Vivienne to hurt me and stayed with her. Now, when I rejected him, he came up with this ridiculous story about me being adopted?
What a joke. I looked so much like my mother-her light brown hair, her black eyes.
Everyone who saw us said I resembled her.
How could I possibly not be her biological child?
“Seraphina, what do I have to do to make you believe me?” Kael asked, gripping my shoulders and staring into my eyes.
He seemed genuinely frustrated, as though he was at his wit’s end.
“Let me go, Kael. Be with Vivienne. That will make your father happy. I have my own life…” I said, closing my eyes to avoid meeting his gaze.
Saying those words hurt, as though my heart was being torn apart.
But what choice did I have? We were never meant to be together.
“Damn it, I refuse!” Kael growled, his teeth clenched. “I can’t lose you, Seraphina. Not unless I’m dead!”
His grip on my shoulders tightened, the pain radiating through me.
