Roxanne’s POV:
I stood there, looking at him in concern for a few minutes. When he sat upright and slowly stood up, his body was trembling.
He opened his mouth to say something but shut it when he looked behind me. He quickly ran into the pack house, surprising me.
“Wow, he really is scared of you,” I whispered softly to Jersey, then turned back and looked at the car that was approaching us. By the scent, I could tell it was Garren.
“Not me, he is more afraid of my master,” she answered.
I quickly rushed to the car once it had parked. I grabbed the door and opened it.
Garren looked at me, then got out. As soon as his feet touched the ground, I jumped on him with tears filling my eyes.
I couldn’t believe he was actually here, in my arms.
“Did you miss me that much?” he asked.
“More than anything,” I answered in a cracked voice and held him tighter as he wrapped his arms around me and moved with me to where Jersey was standing.
“Master, welcome,” she greeted.
“Thank you, Jersey, for keeping me updated on everything. If not for you, I wouldn’t have known how much my mate wanted to see me,” he said softly as tears rolled down my cheeks.
So that’s how it was. She was acting natural and didn’t tell me that she was calling him and updating him on what was going on.
A few times, she saw me sitting alone in the living room in silence, and she would tease me about missing him. I quickly brushed it off, but in truth, I really did miss him.
“Hey, go on in. I’ll take over from here,” he said softly.
“Alright, master,” she answered, then turned and walked back into the pack house.
“I want to see your face,” he whispered, then slowly let me down.
I looked at him with blurry vision as I tried to smile.
He moved his hands to my wet cheeks with a sad smile, then leaned in and kissed my forehead.
“I’m sorry I came late. It took Roman days to put everyone in my territory in line. We worked so hard hand in hand so we could be by your side on the actual day of the party,” he whispered.
I grabbed his collar and tiptoed, crushing my lips against his as he responded and kissed me back.
Now that he was here, everything felt lighter, and my mind was at ease. I wanted to just be in his arms for hours and trash the party.
He grabbed my shoulders and gently pushed me back with a loud breath.
“I am not going anywhere without you, so please be at ease,” he said as I moved my hands and wiped away my tears.
“I just missed you so much,” I said in a cracked voice.
“And I missed you a lot as well,” he answered, then linked his hand with mine.
“Come, I have something for you,” he said and then walked back to the car with me.
He opened the door to his car and leaned in to grab something.
When he turned and faced me, he had a silver box in his hand.
“What’s that?” I asked softly.
“It’s yours, so open it,” he answered, then handed it to me.
I pulled back my hand and grabbed the box.
“Go on, open it,” he said when I hesitated.
I slowly opened it and looked at the pink diamond necklace in awe.
“I missed you so much and I thought of what I could get you. I know I’m enough, and that being by your side is enough as well, but that still doesn’t mean I don’t want to spoil you. This necklace was my mother’s, and she saved it for the woman who would own my heart. I would have given it to you sooner, but I wanted to do it once everything was settled,” he said as I wiped away the tears that rolled down my cheeks.
“It’s beautiful,” I whispered huskily.
“Allow me,” he said, then took the necklace from the box and put it around my neck.
“Perfect,” he whispered, and then kissed my shoulder as I sighed softly in relief.
When I saw two cars drive up to where we were, I quickly wiped away my tears.
The cars stopped a few meters away from us.
Whitney and Leo stepped out of the first car, and the twins, together with Lexi, stepped out of the second car.
I was more surprised that Lexi was carrying a child when we had heard nothing about the baby’s birth.
I quickly rushed to their side to welcome them all, while Garren slowly walked over to where we were, exchanging greetings with them.
“Wow, that necklace sure does stand out. It’s beautiful,” Whitney said as I blushed.
“Thank you, Aunt,” I answered.
“You are welcome, dear. Is everyone in? Sorry, we stopped at the border for a while, that’s why we are late,” she said.
“It’s fine, Aunt, and you are right on time, so please go in,” I answered.
She excused herself and went in, as the rest followed.
I looked at Garren and raised my hand towards him.
He moved and grabbed it, and then we walked back inside the pack house where we found everyone talking loudly. They all seemed happy and shocked at the same time over Lexi being with a child.
“I heard no fucking word about her delivery,” my father said loudly.
“I’m so sorry, Alpha Ian. I wanted to surprise you. That’s why I asked them to keep it a secret,” Lexi answered, and that instantly seemed to calm everyone down.
“We understand. We are just happy to see you after a long time and meet the pup,” my mother said as everyone agreed, then shifted their gaze to Garren.
He looked at me for a second, then back at them.
“I’m sorry. I came here unannounced. I just wanted to be here with my mate and to greet you all,” he said as my father smiled.
“Of course, you are welcome. You are my daughter’s mate, after all,” he said, and everyone seemed to be happy over his response, besides Larson, who looked terrified and was trying his best not to show it or look our way.
“Ladies! It’s time to serve some liquor and then some food!” Angelina said loudly through our mind link, and in just a few minutes, a few she-wolves walked in with trays of wine, whiskey, champagne, and glasses, serving everyone.
The room was filled with laughter while everyone started chatting and laughing happily.
We weren’t expecting Kyle and Larson to make an announcement of their departure because it didn’t matter much to us. What mattered was that they were happy.
Besides that, everyone was in high spirits because the whole family was there for one another, and it was going to be that way forever.
