Garren’s POV:
I looked at my bloody hands, then at the small group trembling in front of me. A few dead bodies lay next to them, and the guards stood at the far end, avoiding my gaze.
It wasn’t my intention to take it this far, but they pushed me to do it. The letter they received was a clear call and warning. Some came willingly, while others played stubborn. I had to go into their mansion and personally retrieve them, or at least their dead bodies, to set an example.
As news spread, they all came in fear, and the guards knew better than to try and stand against me. Having witnessed the downfall of the coven, they were well aware of what Roman could do.
“I’m sure you all know why I called you here,” I said lazily, then crossed my legs on the golden chair.
“No… we have no idea,” a female answered in a low, cracked voice.
“All of you here are the remaining heirs of each powerful vampire bloodline. Everyone has dreams now that the coven is no more, and most of you want to play god, which is cool, but sadly not on my watch. The Coven is gone, and we need a new leader,” I said as a tall man stepped forward.
“Are you saying you want to be our leader?” he asked in a furious tone.
I stood up and grinned, then slowly walked towards him. He quickly looked behind and noticed everyone moving backwards, leaving him standing there alone.
When I reached in front of him, I pressed my hand on his shoulder.
“I am not saying that,” I said softly, as a sigh of relief escaped him.
“I am telling you,” I said, then dropped my hand.
“As of today, I am your leader,” I said, then turned my back to him.
If he really had balls, he would try to attack me. But if he was a coward, he would shut his mouth and step back.
When a few minutes went by without him taking action, I laughed, then went back to the golden chair and sat down.
“You are free to leave if you don’t want me as your leader,” I said honestly.
A few turned to leave but stopped when I spoke.
“But keep in mind that I will kill you if we ever cross paths. Never should I ever hear your name from any supernatural being or any of your bad deeds. It will never end well on your part because my witch won’t only find you, she will wipe away your whole line of sires,” I said loudly.
They all turned back and stood in one spot.
“I’m glad to see that you have come back to your senses. Now, have we come to an agreement?” I asked.
“Yes,” they answered.
“Tomorrow, you will all come to my mansion to take a pledge and give your oath. You might as well run away at night while I’m not paying attention,” I said playfully, then gestured for them to leave.
They all left in a second, leaving the guards still looking at me.
“Your very existence had been for the coven, which was very selfish of them. You stayed day and night, most days protecting them from all danger without rest or feeding. Now that they are gone, your lives are in your hands. I want no one to guard me because I’m more than capable of protecting myself. I suggest you go out there and experience what it truly means to become alive. You can always return whenever you feel like it. You are not heirs, so you are of no use to me,” I said, then stood up and walked out of the castle.
“Do you think a lot of them will leave tonight?” I asked Roman.
“Those cowards won’t leave your side. Only one or two might attempt,” he answered.
“Then what will we do about those who might attempt?” I asked.
“What else would we do besides killing them?” he answered as I smirked.
“I love that idea,” I said, then moved in a flash, heading to my castle. Once I reached the door, I stood still and frowned.
Loud screams were coming from inside. I pushed the door open and found myself in the room where the screams were originating.
When I looked at the ladies, I sighed softly.
Jersey and Roxanne were tickling Thelma on the ground, causing her to scream loudly and beg them to stop.
“We won’t stop until you laugh, lady. You lack facial expressions as if you have a lot of fillers and botox in your damn face!” Roxanne said loudly, as Thelma screamed even louder before finally bursting into laughter.
“Finally, she is laughing!” Jersey exclaimed.
I stood there with a smile on my face. This was the first time I had seen them this close.
“Time out, we need more whiskey,” Jersey said, then stood up and stumbled a bit. I tried to move, but stopped when Roxanne backed away from Thelma and pointed a finger at me.
“Why is it bloody?” she asked, stuttering.
“You mean my hands?” I asked as Jersey lifted one of her hands and a staff appeared in it.
“Blood, is Garren injured?” Thelma asked once she stopped laughing.
“Did you just call me Garren?” I asked in disbelief.
“Well yeah, isn’t that your stupid name?” Roxanne asked as they all burst out in laughter.
“They’re drunk,” Roman reminded me when he noticed how annoyed I was becoming.
“I know, right? Did he think we would call him Roman?” Thelma asked as they laughed harder.
“What the fuck are you guys taking?” I asked seriously.
“Show him, Jersey. Show him,” Thelma demanded.
Jersey raised her staff and recklessly hit it on the ground as three glasses of whiskey appeared right in front of her.
In one cup, I could smell plain whiskey, while in the other, it was mixed with wolfsbane. The last glass had a mixture of whiskey, blood, and cial. Cial was a flower taken from an old ancient tree that was hard to find. The flower only bloomed once every ten years. It was known to break down a vampire’s immune system when overdosed, but it also got them drunk if mixed with whiskey. It was sometimes compared to red Otis, although red ortis was worse because it was deadly to every living being, even in small doses.
“So you guys have been drinking to get drunk?” I asked.
“Well, yes, duh. Now can you leave us alone? We don’t need men here, right?” Thelma asked, as they all agreed loudly.
“Alright, I’m leaving. Just don’t overdo your drinking,” I said, then turned and got out of the room, shutting the door behind me.
I stood there, thinking of a way to convince Roxanne to come to bed early. I wanted us to chat a little bit before she fell asleep.
“Did you see the master’s big, bloody hands?” Thelma asked cheerfully.
“Yes, they say big hands equal a big dick,” Jersey responded, as I widened my eyes in disbelief and turned to look at the closed door.
“Why are you popping your eyeballs at me?” Roxanne asked lazily.
“Is it big? We are curious,” Jersey asked, as I frowned deeply in shock.
Were they really discussing my cock?
“Yes,” Roxanne answered, then giggled.
“Show us the size with your hand,” Jersey ordered.
I was about to touch the door handle when Roman spoke out.
“Don’t ruin their fun,” he ordered.
“I guess you are right, they are really having fun,” I answered silently, then turned and walked away.
They needed this a lot because the past months have been hard for all of them.
