Sequel Chapter 50

Angelina’s POV:
I knocked on Ian’s door and patiently waited for his response.
“Angelina, come in,” he answered loudly.
I opened the door and hesitantly walked in.
He sat behind his desk, looking at his laptop.
“Morning, uncle,” I greeted as I closed the door behind me.
“Morning, dear. Do take a seat,” he responded, then closed his laptop.
I moved to the couch and sat down, facing him.
After my mother had told me everything and what was going on, I couldn’t believe it. But then again, she could never joke or lie about something like that.
Now everything became clear to me. I finally knew the reason why I was ordered to return to the pack without an actual explanation.
“Uncle, I heard what is going on from my mother, but just to confirm, are you truly going to ambush the coven?” I asked.
“Of course, that’s why you were asked to return back home. If anything goes wrong on that side, we will have to find a healer ready in our pack,” he answered.
“Uncle, pardon my question, but how could you trust a hybrid and put your own pack in the way of danger?” I asked, raising my voice.
“It’s not the whole pack that’s going that side, only a few family members are. And I’m sure your mother filled you in on why I have decided to ambush the coven. There is no one that can change my mind because I’m set on going through with it,” he answered seriously.
I could see it in his eyes that he was telling the truth, and there was nothing I could do about it.
“Alright, uncle. I understand, and I will follow your orders. All I ask is to be given the actual day you will be leaving, that way I can be prepared,” I answered.
“In the next five days,” he answered.
“Okay, I will pre-”
I cut my sentence short when the door flew open. Evan and Ryan entered, looking very angry, and they were emitting a powerful aura.
“Alpha, how could you?” Ryan asked, raising his voice.
“Be specific,” came Ian’s command.
“Did you order Lexi to track down the coven witch?” he yelled as Evan placed his hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
“Brother, relax and breathe. You might be upset, but you should remember that you are standing in front of our Alpha,” he reminded him, and that seemed to work.
He took a deep breath and released it.
“I’m really sorry for yelling and barging into your office like this. It’s just that, as we speak right now, we are still worried about Lexi. We have no idea if it’s your orders or someone else asked her to track down the coven witch. Although she managed to pinpoint where the witch is currently, she wasn’t in good condition. The spell caused her to collapse, and for a day, she was unconscious. We are only here today because she regained consciousness,” Ryan said.
“Alpha, we heard it all from Nana (Ian’s mother), and we totally support what you want to do. But we have come here today to ask you to keep Lexi out of this. She’s due this month, so she can’t fight nor cast dangerous spells. If you need help, then use us,” Evan said loudly.
Ian stood up and moved closer to them as they both took a step back, clearly in fear.
“That’s good to hear. I will need you boys beside me when we go to that side. Also, I’m really sorry for asking Lexi for help. I was very selfish to not think about her condition. I apologize,” he said, surprising me.
The twins looked at each other, then smiled and faced him.
“It’s okay, as long as we can help you, Alpha, we are happy. So when do you plan on leaving?” Evan asked.
“We leave in five days by traveling through the portal. That side may be dangerous, and some might be severely injured, so I want none of you to lower your guard no matter what,” he answered seriously.
“We understand, Alpha. I’ll make a phone call to Lexi,” Ryan said calmly.
“When you do, please tell Whitney to stay behind with her. That’s an order from me and Amelia. I have a bad feeling that things may not go as planned on that side,” he said as Ryan nodded, then turned and walked out of the office.
When Evan looked at me with a raised brow, I felt uncomfortable.
“Is this supposed to be Blade’s little pup?” he asked as I glared at him.
Little pup! Ha. Could he not tell that I was a woman? I wasn’t little in any way.
“Yes,” Ian answered without looking at me.
“What’s with that glare, little pup? Do you want to fight me?” he asked as I chuckled softly, then stopped.
“If you continue teasing me, old man, I will not heal your wounds if you ever get injured on that side,” I answered, surprising both him and Alpha Ian.
“Alpha, did this little pup just threaten me?” he asked between laughter.
“Yep,” Ian answered, then walked to the window opposite his chair, looking out.
“Wow, if I didn’t know better, I would say she takes after Roxanne,” Evan said as I smirked.
So Roxanne had the fire to stand up for herself? That was nice to know.
“Is there anything more you want to say, Angelina?” Ian asked seriously.
“No, uncle. I’ll now take my leave, so please excuse me,” I said, then walked to the door.
“Oh, the day you will be departing, I’ll organize everything. Right now, I’ll take a small tour of the clinic to meet everyone,” I said, then walked out without waiting for his response.
There was no going back because everything was decided and set by him.
Although my healing ability was at its peak, I still was very concerned about everyone’s safety, mostly my father’s. If something were to happen to him, mother would lose herself. Sadly, he couldn’t stay back no matter what because he was still the Delta of our pack.
Why the hell wasn’t Roxanne or Kyle taking over? Uncle Ian wasn’t old, but he needed to step back sooner or later. I wanted my old man to rest too from his duties. That way, he could spend all of his time with my mother.
Hopefully, it was going to be soon because I hated the thought of him overworking.
As I walked out of the pack house, I could hear the loud voices of warriors training. I wasn’t skilled in any way, but I still felt lucky with the ability I had.
