Sequel Chapter 40

Book:The Dominant Alpha (Series) Published:2025-3-10

Amelia’s POV:
I sat quietly next to Toni and Whitney while Uncle Leomord stood near the entrance of the living room, looking at us. We were all taking in the situation we were facing, which was very sad and annoying.
I had no idea where Ian and the kids were. All I knew was that we needed to sort everything out as soon as possible.
“I think we should leave,” Whitney said softly as she stood up.
“I think that’s the best decision. I’ll mind-link August to start the car. He should be in one of the rooms,” Uncle backed her up.
I looked at them seriously, then at Toni, who looked very deep in thought.
“How are you feeling?” I asked in concern through our mind-link.
“Sad, but I’m way better than Neo. He is way beyond pissed at our son’s confession,” she answered.
“Did he go with Ian to the office to talk to Larson?” I asked, knowing he would do just that.
“Yes, they went together with Blade to try and talk some sense into that boy,” she answered, then kept quiet.
“I’m here,” August announced immediately as he walked in.
He was shirtless, and sweat was running down his forehead.
“Did you go for a run?” Whitney asked.
“Yes,” he answered and then gave a slight bow to show his respect.
Everyone was trying to understand and come to terms with Larson’s rejection and confession. Hours were going by with us just sighing and making small talk. Aurora was very annoyed at this, but I couldn’t think of anything else to do because Larson wasn’t my son.
“Go and start the car. We are going back to our territory,” Uncle ordered and informed him.
“Right away,” August answered, then walked out of the room.
He looked very relieved hearing that they were going back to their territory. Truth be told, anyone in their right mind would, because the situation was only getting worse.
“Are you just going back like that? Shouldn’t we talk this through as a family?” I asked softly.
“Amelia, there is nothing to talk about. The decision isn’t ours but the boy’s. We came here to help find Roxanne, which we did. Now that she is safe and sound, we have to go back. Lexi may be in good hands back at our pack, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t concerned about her health,” Whitney answered in a respectful tone.
I sighed, then stood up and faced her.
“I understand, but can you at least say goodbye to Ian?” I asked.
“No, I’m sure he is busy right now, so I don’t want us to disturb his discussion. Just relay our goodbyes to him on our behalf,” Uncle answered.
“Fine,” I said in a low tone and gave Whitney a hug.
“Greet the twins and Lexi for me,” I whispered, then pulled back.
“Of course,” she answered and walked out of the room.
Uncle nodded at me before following her.
“Everything is turning into a nightmare,” I whispered under my breath while I moved back to sit down.
Immediately, Ian, Blade, and Neo walked in. Toni and I stood up.
“I desperately need a drink,” he said when he sat down opposite us.
“Me too,” Blade whispered and then moved to the wall, leaning against it with his arms crossed.
“Did he change his mind?” Toni asked seriously.
“That damn brat is as stubborn as you. Do you think he could easily accept her and change his mind? See what happens when you pamper that child too much. Now he’s acting as if he is on top of the world and there is nothing we can do about it,” Neo answered her coldly once he was standing next to her.
She frowned deeply, then shifted her gaze to the side.
“Neo, you don’t have to talk to her like that. As it is, she’s already feeling terrible,” I said honestly.
“I know, Amelia. It’s just that he’s so strong-willed and stubborn like Toni is. Ian tried talking some sense into him, but it was of no use. He told him how beneficial it would be to accept Tamara, but he couldn’t budge. That bastard even had the guts to walk out on us!” he exclaimed.
“So your talk did nothing?” Jeannie asked in a whisper when she walked in with Kyle behind her.
“No, it did nothing,” Blade answered.
“Does Garren know anything about this?” I asked in concern.
“No, we left him with Roxanne in the study room. They were both happily having a little chat,” Kyle answered.
“That’s good. Let’s keep it from them because if he finds out about this, his guard will be way up. Who knows what he might even do to Larson,” Ian said, then looked around.
“Where the hell is Felix and the rest? I need to get to her now before she….”
“I’m here,” Felix’s voice sounded in the corridor, cutting him off.
Her voice held sadness, pain, and anger.
She walked in with Chase beside her, who was holding her arm as if she could fall any second.
“Felix, what’s wrong?” Ian asked loudly when he noticed her tears.
He was very worried, as I was, because this was the first time we were seeing her look this weak and drained.
He stood up, and he was about to go to her when she shook her head.
She looked at Chase, then moved her free hand to wipe away her rolling tears.
“Tamara wanted nothing to do with this situation, and she didn’t want to stay another second here. She begged us to let her go somewhere, and we obliged as her parents who want the best for her,” Chase answered, shocking everyone in the room.
“Where the hell did you choose?” Jeannie asked, screaming.
“My friend’s place. I called and talked to her about everything, and she agreed to look after her for as long as Tamara would want to stay,” he answered.
“Which friend, Chase? Why not let her stay here in Alpha Ian’s pack? I know this won’t make much sense, but that is the very reason we decided to come to this pack. She was so sad, and we thought a change of scenery would be good for her. That’s why I texted Lee secretly, telling him where we were,” Jeannie said.
“Jeannie, enough! She’s our daughter, and we have the right to choose for her. I know that you are all worried about her well-being, but I can assure you that the choice we made was thought through clearly,” Felix said in a cracked voice as the room went silent.
She rubbed her fingers against her forehead, then dropped her hand.
“Now then, if you don’t mind, Chase and I are going back home because right now I want to be left alone with my bond. You can stay behind with Lee because it really doesn’t matter. It would actually be good,” she said, then walked out of the room with Chase.
“Did she just tell me to fuck off?” Jeannie asked in a small voice.
“No, she didn’t. She is just asking us to give her some time to pull through everything. If you don’t mind, you and Lee could stay in our pack for a few days,” I answered.
She shook her head and smiled sadly.
“I can’t leave her side no matter what. She might need her bond right now, but with time, she will need a fellow woman to talk to. I will go with Lee and do everything we can to make her feel better,” she said.
I nodded and looked at Ian, who nodded back.
There was nothing left to say anymore. Everything was done, and what was left to do was to accept it all.
