Jay’s POV:
“Ah,” I groaned in pain, then blinked a few times until my vision became clear.
My head was aching, but not as much as my hands and legs.
I frowned as I slowly looked at myself and noticed that I was tied up all around the place.
“What the fuck,” I whispered as I tried to move but couldn’t.
The ropes tied around my hands and feet made it hard for me to even stand or break free.
“Think, Jay, think,” I whispered to myself, then fell silent as everything played in my mind.
That man I talked to was definitely behind this. But who could have sent him to kidnap me? Was he acting on his own will or was he paid to do so?
For now, I needed something to cut the ropes and escape before he could realize that I was awake.
When I heard light footsteps approaching me, I immediately closed my eyes, pretending to be unconscious.
The footsteps stopped right in front of me, then a sigh was released.
“You know, I can tell that you’re already awake. Are you going to keep pretending or are you going to open your eyes and look at me?” a female voice asked.
I instantly opened my eyes and looked at her face without hesitation.
Her voice sounded so nice that I couldn’t stop myself from staring into her eyes.
“Jay, right?” she asked seriously as I smiled.
“Yes, and what is your name?” I asked softly.
She raised her hand and pressed it against her swollen stomach.
My smile instantly vanished as anger filled my heart. She was pregnant!
Just a second ago, I was smiling like a fool, forgetting that she was involved too. She was obviously with that son of a bitch who had kidnapped me.
“My name is…” I began.
“I don’t give a fuck. Now listen, you stupid bitch, call that son of a bitch here. I need to have a talk with him,” I demanded.
For a moment, she looked unfazed but then raised her hand and struck me hard across my cheek.
I groaned in pain, spat out blood, and smirked.
For a woman, she really had a strong hand. No wonder she wasn’t scared to be in front of me.
“Is this what that son of a bitch taught you? Violence? That’s pretty sad because if it were me, I would have taught you something fun and exciting,” I said, flinching as she raised her hand again.
I expected her to hit me, but instead, she sighed heavily and dropped it.
“Don’t speak ill of him or me,” she warned.
Or else what? Was she going to kill me? If they did want me dead, then I would already be dead by now. Why keep me around?
“I’m sorry,” I whispered as her expression softened.
“I guess hitting isn’t the only thing he taught you. I mean, look at you. You’re already knocked up. He must have bent you over in all possible positions, and you gladly took it like a fucking whore,” I said, then cursed when she slapped my other cheek using the back of her palm.
I bit my lower lip and swallowed hard as a trail of blood rolled from my nose.
“Do you wish for death?” she exclaimed.
I coughed slightly, then grinned. I had been in worse situations in my past, and this kind of torture was nothing compared to what I had endured.
“Are you fucking deaf or something? I said I want to talk to that son of a bitch. Did you not understand, you dumb bitch!” I screamed as she took in a sharp breath.
She slowly turned, then walked out of the place as I called out to her.
“Hurry up and call him, bitch!”
The place I was in did look like a garage, although there were no cars around. The necessary tools to free myself were at the far end on an old table, and on the dusty ground were some planks.
I focused my gaze at the entrance when I heard light footsteps. When the lady walked in with a first aid kit, I whined loudly.
“You again, why?” I asked angrily.
“Just shut up, asshole,” she responded, then put the first aid kit down.
“What do you want, lady?” I asked sarcastically.
She ignored me and took a cotton wool from the kit and a bottle of spirit.
“You know, you should be grateful to me,” she said when she opened the bottle and poured the contents onto the wool.
“And why should I be?” I asked seriously as she took a step closer.
“I took off the cloth covering your eyes and mouth. I also stopped Alec from killing you,” she said, then pressed the wool against the side of my lip as I flinched. The wound there was now hurting even more.
“Alec, is that the name of that son of a bitch?” I asked coldly.
She stopped what she was doing and looked at me seriously.
“Yes, it is,” she answered, then continued.
“For a husband, he sure is lousy. Asking his woman to take care of his business when she’s expecting, he really is a joke,” I mocked.
She threw the bloody wool down and growled loudly, startling me.
“He is not my husband, nor someone I have ever slept with, okay? And yes, I was raped, so feel free to make jokes about the bastard child I’m carrying!” she screamed at the top of her voice as tears filled her eyes.
Her hands were slightly trembling, and her chest was rising and falling.
No matter how I looked at it, it seemed like she was telling the truth, and that made me feel horrible.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…”
“Make fun of him fucking me when we aren’t even close to each other?” she asked, cutting me off.
I had no idea they weren’t close. All I wanted was to see the guy. That’s why I was trying to get her upset so she would call him.
“Look, I only want to talk to him, that’s all. So please help me out,” I answered softly.
She dropped the bottle from her hand and leaned in to pick up the first aid kit.
“I’m going to say this for the first and last time, so listen carefully. Alec isn’t a part of this country, and he is Olivia’s lover. He wanted to kill you so he could go with her and Micah to live happily in another country, but I intervened and asked him to spare your life. As of now, I will be the one taking care of you,” she said.
“What!” I screamed in disbelief.
She sighed heavily, then turned and walked away.
“Hey, hey! Get back here!” I called out loudly, but she didn’t return.
I was beyond furious and surely in disbelief.
