Chase’s POV:
“So we only have to find a way, that’s all, right?” I asked Lee seriously.
“Yes, because the auction starts in thirty minutes,” he answered while looking in the mirror.
We made reservations in time and got a room right on top of the underground building where the auction was being held. The only problem was that we had no way to get in besides the main entrance. The whole place was heavily guarded and shielded with magic.
“Hey, I know your family crest is very important, but is it worth your life?” I asked softly.
He glanced at me, then frowned deeply.
“It is worth more than my life. Look, a crest to my people is like one’s identity. Just having the symbol of the crest on my clothes or car makes everyone know which family I belong to. Not only that, the crest is a generational item filled with unbelievable magical elements infused in it. Whoever has it gets to experience power beyond their imagination,” he answered as I raised a brow.
“So in short, whoever has it has their power enhanced tenfold?” I asked to be clear.
“Not tenfold, Chase. They become invisible if they learn of the elemental magic within the seal of the crest,” he answered.
“Okay, now I understand why it’s important. But tell me a little bit more about it,” I said seriously.
I wanted to know more about it before I could risk my life with him.
“Isn’t that a little too late to ask?” he asked when he turned and faced me.
“Better late than never,” I answered honestly.
“Okay. Our family crest is a ring,” he said, surprising me.
“What?” I asked in disbelief.
“It is a ring with magical symbols on it and our family name engraved on it. To most humans and supernatural beings, it looks useless, but to those that know about it, it’s worth a lot. Because with the right spell used on it, the seal may break. By that, I mean the ring takes on another shape, and that’s the shape of a scroll. The scroll not only holds secrets to magical elements, but it also holds secrets to power and greater magic,” he answered as I stood up.
“My gosh, why the hell would you put such a thing on open ground! If you ask me, I would have suggested you be the one to wear the ring every day. That way, you would protect it!” I exclaimed loudly.
“No, that wouldn’t work. Moreover, the ring is like a drug when worn. Whoever wears it becomes addicted to knowing and learning more about magic. If your mind is weak, you end up turning to the dark side and being consumed by it. I may be a worthy warlock, but that doesn’t mean I have what it takes to overcome the darkness,” he said seriously, then continued.
“My family knew the consequences of putting on the ring. That’s why they always kept it in a safe place. Although the place was open, it was safely guarded by magic-my family’s magic. Whoever has the ring must be a part of my family because that’s the only way to lower the shield of magic that surrounds the ring,” he said.
I took a step closer and patted his shoulder.
“In the wrong hands, it would be a dangerous weapon. I understand that. That’s why, no matter what, we need to get into the auction hall,” I whispered, then looked at the door when I heard a light knock.
“Finish getting dressed. I’ll answer it,” I said, then walked to the door and opened it.
I held my breath when my eyes landed on Samantha.
“Hi, honey. Do you like my black glitter long-sleeve see-through jumpsuit bodysuit or my nicely done long loose curls? Perhaps you fancy my gladiator sandals, high-heeled pumps, or my matte makeup that makes me look sexy?” she asked, as I swallowed hard.
“Fuck, she’s hot.” That’s the only thing that went through my mind.
“Breathe, handsome,” she said, as she opened her purse and took out red lipstick.
“Yeah, right,” I answered, then swallowed hard again.
This was the first time in my freaking life I was seeing her look like this. Felix, or should I say Samantha, I knew loved men’s wear. Although she did put on women’s clothing a few times, it was nothing like this.
My mouth was watering, and my cock was throbbing just from observing her put lipstick on her lips.
She giggled, then took a step forward and breathed in my ear. I felt a shiver go through my body, and my cock grew hard.
“You are easy to figure out,” she whispered, then moved her hand to my growing bulge.
She was doing everything on purpose!
“You guys should get a room as soon as we retrieve the crest,” Lee said as he approached us.
I cleared my throat and moved my free hand to cover my bulge. When the thought of him seeing my woman’s naked body clicked in my mind, I quickly took off my jacket and put it around her.
“Chase, what’s the meaning of this?” she asked in a loud voice.
“I won’t have him look at you. You are putting on a see-through outfit, remember,” I pointed out.
“But I have to be in this outfit to go with the two of you to the auction hall,” she said as I angrily glared at her.
“Not a chance. You aren’t coming with us,” I said seriously.
“But I have to. Look,” she said, then placed her hand on my chest.
“I’ll act like I’m there to make it convincing, and when you want me to cut the act and slaughter someone, I will gladly do it,” she said in a seductive voice.
I inhaled deeply, then exhaled, knowing full well that there was no way to turn her down.
“Fine, but after we are done, you will get on your pretty knees and suck me off,” I answered as she smiled happily.
Ever since we talked about our feelings and decided to be together, I became a little bolder with her, and she seemed to enjoy it the most.
“Deal,” she answered, then linked her hand with mine.
“Lee, let’s go,” I said, then walked ahead with Felix while he followed behind.
We made our way into the elevator and pressed the first floor.
I was nervous, but having her by my side made me at ease. When the elevator doors opened, we all stepped out and walked ahead.
Two huge men in sleek black suits stood guarding the entrance.
I looked at Lee seriously, and he looked back at me.
How the hell were we going to convince such men to let us in? Their aura showed how strong they were.
“Stay back, I’ll handle them. They are my kind,” Felix said, then let go of my hand and went ahead.
She said something that made the man hiss at her. When she hissed back, they quickly lowered their gaze to the ground.
“Know your place, losers,” she spat, then turned and looked at us.
“Come on in, guys,” she said with a smile as we quickly went in.
As we walked through the corridor filled with red lights, we could see a lot of doors on each side.
Lee raised his hand as he walked behind us.
When he stopped walking, we did the same.
“Lee, what is it?” Felix asked with concern.
He turned and pushed the door open, walking into a specific room.
“Come on,” Felix said as she walked in too, with me following behind her.
The room was empty, and Lee was busy rubbing his hand against the wall.
“What are you doing?” I asked, serious.
“Give me your hand,” he responded seriously, and I moved closer and did as he asked.
He held it, then closed his eyes, and I did the same.
I could feel him drawing my energy with each passing second.
When Felix gasped, I opened my eyes.
The ring was on top of a small red pill in what looked like an invisible safe.
“The invisible shield surrounding it may look simple, but it isn’t. Any slight touch can trigger it and send waves of shock to both me and you. That’s why I will give it my all to break the shield. If I fail, Felix, grab the ring immediately when I tell you to,” he ordered.
“Okay,” she answered.
He muttered a few incantations, and I felt my knees weaken and sweat forming on my forehead. He was getting more energy than I had anticipated.
“Felix, now,” he said. In a split second, she moved and grabbed the ring.
When he moved his hand away, the wall appeared back in place.
“It’s done,” he whispered, then let go of my hand as I stumbled.
Before I could fall, Felix gently grabbed me.
“I got you,” she whispered.
I moved and rested my head against her shoulder for comfort while Lee took the ring from her hand.
“Wait here, I’ll open a portal that will lead us straight to my family’s house,” he said, then went to the corner of the room.
“Wait, Lee, don’t you want to know who the culprit is, the one who stole the ring?” I asked.
“No, because he will attempt to steal it again, and this time, he will find us ready,” he said as the portal opened.
“This is easier than I thought it would be,” Felix muttered when we walked into the portal.
“I know,” I answered too, because it was really easier than what my mind had thought.
