After dinner, Dad, Greg, Derick, and I gathered in my office, to decide what next to do.
Ripley left immediately after dinner, back to her home.
” With the information from Henry, there is a mole in our midst, someone who has betrayed this pack and the laws that govern this pack, I cannot have a rat in my midst,” I say.
” Someone has done this, and we must find out who is responsible for giving out information concerning Macy,” Dad says.
I am still confused about how this information got to the ears of an enemy when only a few of my family members knew who Macy is to me, my brother didn’t even know until today. It makes me realize that the culprit is more than closer than I imagined.
We all stayed up until late that night, trying to get on any information we could grasp. But it seemed difficult with us not knowing the location where she was being held.
Miles contacted Derick earlier to inform him of the little information he and his team could gather.
Miles sent a file via email, it was video coverage gathered from the different CCTV from Macy’s apartment to where her car was abandoned.
Derick played the video on his laptop, and we all watched it together, we watched how she leaves her apartment rushing and drove off in her car, we watched the video in silence then I spot a black Jeep tailing her car, it looked like they had been waiting for her like they had been keeping an eye her all this while.
The Jeep follows her car behind until she is a few meters away from my pack’s borders, before overtaking her, making her car stop; two men covered from their heads to toes with only their eyes visible come out of the Jeep in front, we watch closely as they open her car door and drag her out forcefully. My mate tries to struggle with them, but they are too strong for her, one of the men brings out a handkerchief and presses it on her face as she struggles, she stops moving after a few seconds, and we watch them carry her helpless body into their Jeep and speed off.
My body shook angrily at what I just watched, these hoodlums will pay massively for touching my mate, I imagined my wolf tearing into the neck of that lunatic Henry, while he gasps and pled for his life, I would finish what I didn’t do a year ago.
” This is all they could gather, it seems like she disappeared after they took her. All the CCTV from that point she was taken was blank for two hours after the incident, these fuckers had everything planned out.” Derick explains as he shuts down his system.
I stared up at my family with me in my office, they all looked tired, especially Dad. This whole drama and stress seemed to have affected him, Derick looked sleep-deprived.
” That will be all for now, you all need to rest. We have to ready ourselves for tomorrow, and we need our strengths.” I tell them.
” You are right son, we all need our strength for tomorrow, I’ll go on then your mother must be worried now,” Dad says as he retires back to his room.
I looked up to see both my brother and Greg still rooted in their seats, with no expression on their faces.
” Did you not hear me, go to rooms and rest,” I repeated myself.
Derick meets my gaze, and he shakes his head at me.
” I am not sleepy, Liam, I want to wait up in case of any news,” he says, staring at me.
I turn to Greg, and he shakes his head at me too.
I sigh at their behavior, I know it is best to simply let them be, wouldn’t want to start an argument right now about going to bed.
As for me, how could I sleep knowing that my mate is in the hands of some deranged lunatic, I did not know whether she has had anything to eat or drink since she was taken, and I had no idea how she was faring.
Rage has not been able to feel her emotions either like he used to, It felt like she just vanished, but deep down we know that was what happened. I was angry, so angry with myself and everything that was going on. Not only that, but I haven’t even introduced her to my world yet, and she is already starting to get in danger. It made me wonder if she will accept me when she finds out who I am.
After a few hours of checking on some places with the description given by Ripley, I decided to go out for a midnight stroll.
My Beta and brother were still very much awake, and seated in my office checking up on some locations, they refused to rest, no matter how many times I tried to ask them, so I let go.
I walked into the woods, took my clothes off, and shifted into my wolf as he darts off, we needed this run, or we might probably run mad with his constant whimpers and groans in my head.
Macy POV
(earlier that morning)
I tried calling Derick again, but his line was not connecting, as I drove at full speed heading towards Waterfall. I noticed a black Jeep following me, but I did not pay any attention to it.
My eyes were red and puffy from crying all morning, I did not know what I was going to say to each of them, all I wanted was for them not to fight because of me. It would break me to watch them fight, with me being the reason, how would I face Mr. and Mrs. Torres? If they come to learn that I am playing with their son’s feelings.
I drove for an hour, and I was getting close to Waterfall territory, I was only a few meters from entering the community when I suddenly heard a loud screech, a car from nowhere overtook mine, making me hold the brake and stop my car.
I looked closely and realized it was the same Jeep, I noticed earlier that was tailing me, but I gave no attention to it.
Just then I saw two men, walk up to my car door and open it with full force, I screamed at their actions.
” Who are you people and what do you want?” I asked trembling, looking at them, they looked scary with every part of their body covered with clothing apart from their eyes.
Without saying a word, these men dragged me out of my car, I struggled in their hold, trying to run away, but I was no match for them.
One of them brought out a handkerchief, and before I could resist, he pressed it to my face with force, I try to struggle but the moment I inhale whatever harsh substance was applied to the piece of clothing, I felt myself become weak, and in no time everything went blank.
