Liam’s POV
Greg and I got to town that morning and parked just in front of Macy’s office building, waiting patiently. Just like the last time, I asked Greg to pick a car with tinted glass, just to be on the safe side.
My wolf and I are happy we’ll be seeing her again today, Rage has been muttering none stop in my head since this morning for me to introduce myself to her as our chosen and then take her home with us. I wish it were that easy.
“When you said we were coming to town, I didn’t Imagine us sitting in a parked car, doing nothing but staring at an office building for hours.” Greg says in a boring tone.
“What did you think you were coming here to do, uh? You thought we’d be seated in a Bar taking shots or in a Restaurant having lunch?.”
“That sounds better than us sitting here doing nothing, Alpha we could just go inside and see her then you guys can talk.”
“Greg I’m here for my mate who doesn’t know about me, you don’t expect me to just go into her office and see her, she’s going to be confused, so I just want to take things slow.”
“So what we just sit and wait until she’s out.”
“Yes that’s what we’ll do, we sit and wait for my mate.”
One thing about having a mate is the fact that you can do anything for your mate and not regret a thing. I am willing to wait all day long for her, and I’ll never get tired of waiting. That’s how strong the mate bond is. I don’t care if Derick is willing to reject his mate because of Macy, but what I know is I am not giving up on her, not now, not ever.
After some hours of waiting, Rage was starting to get more excited because it was her closing time, and at any moment she’ll come down. I was looking forward to seeing her too and talking to her. It was at that moment I saw two men walking in her car’s direction, dressed in black and face caps on their heads to hide their faces.
“Alpha, I think those two are here for trouble.” Greg says
I watched them approach her car and just like we suspected, they were here for trouble. They brought out a screw, to try to open her car. Just then, her scent hit me, which means she was headed this way.
In no time she arrives, shocked by what’s in front of her she pulls out her phone, trying to call the cops. I think these thugs aren’t scared by her threats to call the cops as I see them bring a dagger out and point at her. At that moment, I lost it, how dare these weak humans threaten my mate with a weapon?
“Greg get those burglars, but don’t kill them just make them take a nap.”
“Yes Alpha, I’ll have fun doing it too.”
we both came out of the car, Greg moved with Werewolf speed and handled the thugs quickly in no time they were lying unconscious on the ground.
My mate was watching everything unfold before her eyes, She looked shocked at what she saw and tried to run. I moved with speed and stood at her back, without realizing she turned and hit my chest with her head.
I see how shocked she was at seeing me, with the look on her face, I’m guessing I’m the last person she expected to see right now.
“You… what are you doing here?” Macy says with wide eyes staring at me
“Are you okay?”
“Yes, yes I was just about to go home before this, what happened. Did you do that? Are they alive?”She asks at once, shaking.
“Come with me, I’ll take you home. Come on it’s not safe out here, and it’s freezing.” Without wasting time, I take her hands in mine, I feel the sparks as our skin meets. I have heard of these feelings, the sweet electric sparks that you feel when you touch your mate, and now I have felt it too.
The feeling is cut short as she pulls away fast, looking baffled at her hands and then back at me. I open the car door for her, She gets in the car, and I follow suit. Greg gets in the driver’s seat and drives off.
Being this close to her and not able to touch her was killing not just my wolf but me as well, it was becoming difficult to control the bond and control Rage as well, but in no time he took control for a second.
“I missed you, mate.” Rage says out loud as he takes control forcefully
I watched through his eyes to see her confused face, looking at us.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, give me back control Rage! Let me handle this, or you’ll spoil things for us.” I told him, Rage was being stubborn, and I forced back control in no time. Greg watched us through the mirror, I can’t believe he did that.
“What was that you just said?” Macy says
“Nothing I said nothing.” I try defending
“No I think I heard you say missed you! So, what was that?”
“Macy you must have heard wrong because I heard nothing like that.” Greg says, trying to cover up
“Yea you must have heard wrongly, I said nothing.”
“If you say so then maybe I heard wrong.” she says still looking confused.
We came to a stop in front of her apartment, just 7 minutes away from her office, she steps down from the car and I do the same.
“How do you know where I live? I mean, you guys didn’t even ask for the location of my house.”
“I just know, Macy.”
“That’s startling, you mean you just know where I live!.”
“Yes Macy, I just know, is there a problem with knowing where you live?”
“No not at all, of course there is no problem, I just thought that…that you didn’t like me.”
“What! You think I don’t like you.”
“Yes, that’s what I think.”
“Why on earth would you think that? What is the reason you think I don’t like you, Macy.”
“Well because at Mrs. Torres’s birthday party your behavior toward me showed that you didn’t like me. For example, you left my hands hanging when Derick introduced us, do you know how embarrassing that was for me, how wouldn’t I think that you didn’t like me.”
“Well there is a reason I behaved like that, and I promise I’ll tell you in due time, but for now, I’m sorry I made you feel that way.”
“Apology accepted, um Liam do you guys want to come in for tea?” I am shocked at her request, right now I just stare at her
“Well, it’s just my little way of saying thank you for bringing me home safely.” I can never say no to an offer like this
“Alright then if you insist.”
“Is Greg not coming along.”
“No, he is good, he’ll wait down here.”
“Okay.”
“Have fun Alpha, don’t worry about me, I’ll have my earphones on, so you can be loud as you’d like.” Greg says through the mind link.
“Shut the fuck up, Greg!.”
