Chapter 111

Book:The Alpha's Hot Chase After Divorce Published:2025-3-10

Rex’s POV.
I stood there as I couldn’t find the best word to say right now. For five years now, I have protected her whereabouts and being here too, no one could ever figure out why I was here.
So far, I have been able to protect her whereabouts and I have pushed their attention towards me being here for purely business.
“Why should I trust you?” I looked at him as I furrowed my eyebrows. There was no way I could bring myself into accepting him.
I raised my eyebrows this time around as I looked at him. “Why should I be your ally?” I said with a frown on my face as I looked at him.
“You know, I am not here alone. I still have three of my pack members here and remember the blonde lady? She was the one that took your ring.” He said calmly as he tilted his lips.

“Oh!” The blonde lady chuckled softly as she turned to me. “I… I’m sorry.” She quickly apologized as she smiled at me.
I looked at her as I couldn’t help but smile. There was no way I couldn’t reciprocate her smile.
“How are you?” She asked me as she raised her eyebrows. “Oh! I remember you.” She said as she smiled broadly. “Rex King.” She said as she looked at me.
We indulged in a brief chat and the moment she left, I noticed a paper in my left side pocket and that was the note that brought me here to see who the anonymous caller was.
***
“Yeah, you seem pretty fine.” He grinned as he looked at me. “She is one deadly pack warrior and she shouldn’t be underestimated. She’s pretty and her skill? Topnotch!” He commended me as he smiled at me.
Before he could say another word, his phone rang and he accepted the call immediately.
“Hello, Derek?” He muttered as his smiley face soon turned to a frown.
“Hello, Collins Morgan.”
I overheard Clark’s voice from the background, causing me to squint my eyes. “What is he doing there and why did Collins call him Derek?” I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at him.
“What have you done?” He scowled as he frowned. “Where is Derek?” He queried angrily.
“Oh! You mean the blonde hair? He is lying down lifelessly on the floor as well as Logan. And… I’m with Rex’s ring.” Clark shrugged as Collins remained quiet.
“You don’t always win!!” Clark muttered.
“When it comes to family, to people I call family? I don’t joke with it!!” He said in a cold tone. “So, here he is, awake. I’m not that brutal when it comes to leaving a simple message. No fractured bones.” He said and I could overhear Derek coughing in the background.
“If…”
“Goodbye then!!” He interrupted as he ended the call, giving Collins no space to utter a single word.
He dropped his hand down as he looked at me. “Don’t consider yourself lucky because I wasn’t planning to harm you either.” He said in defense as he smiled one sidedly as he frowned his face again almost immediately as he looked at me.
“Is that it? Isn’t it amazing that you take me for a fool? I guess tables do turn and if Kingsley is the reason why you are here? Then I’m sorry to disappoint you that the scale will always be in my favor.” I scowled angrily as I looked at him.
I tilted my lips as I walked closer to him. “You were serious about it. Blackmailing me to know what I have kept hidden for five years.” I chuckled mockingly as I lowered my head.
I bit my lower lip as I tried to hold down my wolf from acting. I raised my eyebrows as I looked at Collins again.
“You might be whatever you think you are, but one thing, don’t get on my bad side because I am also as impulsive as any psychotic serial killer.” I smirked as I turned to leave.
I paused as I turned around as I looked at him. “Oh! Before I forget, you shouldn’t forget that family comes first and if I see you as a threat to my family, I will end your miserable life and don’t bother returning back to work.”
“I already dropped my resignation letter. What’s the need of working for a minor pay when I have an empire worth over half a billion American dollars?” He sneered as he frowned his face as tears swelled up in his eyes.
I smiled at him before walking away. I met Clark who stood at the entrance of the balcony as he looked at me as I approached where he stood.
“Thank you, Clark!!” I said with a broad smile as I took my ring from him.
“You see? At least I am not completely useless as you think.” He said as he chuckled softly as he looked at me.
“I never said you were completely useless to me.” I chuckled softly as I walked past him and he followed me from behind.
“So, who is the mystery man?” He asked as he looked at me.
“Collins Morgan.” I responded briefly as I continued walking back to the big hall. I walked down the stairs as Alphonso approached me.
“Thank you, Rex King.” He thanked me as he looked at the lady that stood next to him.
“You earned yourself this!! I must thank you for honoring my invitation.” He muttered as he wore a broad smile. “I hope you are enjoying your time here?” He asked as we walked down.
We walked outside the hall as we stood outside.
“You have got a lot of respect for yourself. How do you manage to achieve that regardless of everything?” I asked as I wore a broad smile.
“By being a friend to everyone, I guess.” He said as he turned to me. “I don’t forgive my enemies, I eradicate them as quickly as possible.” He said as he furrowed his eyebrows.
