As she spoke, she grabbed the wine from his hand and drank it all in one gulp.
But even after she finished, Jaquan’s expression did not change, and Mollie’s torment did not stop. Callie choked out, “What do you want! I’ll clean it up for her, just let Mollie go!”
Saying this, she crawled to the woman beside her, gritting her teeth and trying to overcome her dignity. The woman was frightened, not expecting Callie to actually dare.
Jaquan’s expression grew darker. He grabbed Callie by the waist and demanded, “Where is my father?”
Callie shouted, “I don’t know, I really don’t know! Nelson used me, he didn’t tell me!”
Jaquan pressed his thumb against her lips, applying force, wishing he could kill her.
Callie was thrown aside and struggled to get up. “Make them stop, Jaquan, make them stop first!”
The man looked at the woman groveling before him, unmoved.
The woman beside him saw this and understood that her chances of survival were slim. She took it upon herself to say, “Jaquan, let me take her away and deal with her, so she doesn’t dirty your eyes.”
Jaquan squinted his eyes and suddenly kicked the table leg. The bottles on the table fell and shattered on the floor.
“Get out.”
The woman was so scared she couldn’t move. After a moment, she gasped and hurriedly ran out.
Scarface also understood and stopped forcing Mollie to drink, dragging her out the door.
The room was left with just the two of them.
“How much do you know?”
The question was subtle. Callie’s mind was a mess, filled with Mollie’s screams, unable to think clearly.
“What are you asking about?”
Jaquan picked up a glass of wine and poured it over her head bit by bit.
“Being able to send Mollie back to get something means you’ve already seen it. Callie, how much do you know?”
Red wine poured over her head. Callie endured the humiliation, feeling not just wronged but extremely angry. “Are you asking about Holly?”
Jaquan met her straightforward gaze without flinching.
“I didn’t expect that Charlotte had a former name, Holly.” She laughed.
Laughing, she slumped to the ground. “But she didn’t always look like this, Jaquan. You have quite the plan.”
Jaquan’s gaze lingered without hiding. “Your face has helped me a lot.”
Callie took a deep breath. “I underestimated your hatred for Nelson. Your game started even before I appeared.”
In fact, Callie hadn’t read the entire document, but she had guessed most of it.
“You started grooming a woman years ago. She had to be without parents or relatives, independent and kind from a young age. You secretly funded her through high school and college. If nothing unexpected happened, she would naturally come into contact with Nelson. Under your arrangement, she would return to the Ellison family as Maevelyn.”
Callie imagined all this and couldn’t help but admire Jaquan’s plan and patience.
“But unfortunately, an unexpected event occurred. Nelson secretly got married, and the leading lady was me. So you started approaching me, using your methods to learn everything about me. Because of me, Holly couldn’t get close to Nelson and faced obstacles in returning to the Ellison family.”
Callie coldly curled her lips. “But you should thank me because if it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have known precisely who fit Maevelyn’s criteria or gotten the DNA to pass off as hers.”
