LITTLE MISHAP

“This is the spare cloth I have.” Maddie is handing me a short and crop top. I looked at it in disbelief, shifting my gaze back at her.
Why did I have to forget my P. E. clothes?
“You do know this doesn’t hide anything,” I whispered, cringing at the extremely short shorts.
“You will have to make do with it; Sofie doesn’t have any spears.”
I sighed but replied nonetheless. “I don’t want my ass to be on display for these perverted boys in school.”
“It’s not that bad; beside, you have a sexy ass.” She complimented me, and I gave her a blank look. “Just put it on; we need to get to the gym. I don’t plan on running extra mills just for coming late.”
I looked at the clothes in my hands and took a breath. I had no choice but to participate. I went into the girls changing room, changing out of my clothes to the other. They both grabbed my body, aligning every feature.
After I was done, I packed my hair up into a ponytail before stepping out of the room. Maddie’s eyes widen when she sees me, and a sly smile forms on her face.
“Damn girl, you look hot. Though I don’t know if Hayden is going to like this, there is no way you can avoid getting any attention. Not with those killer legs, asses, and boobs.” I didn’t know if it was a compliment or a warning, but I’m guessing it was the later.
“You aren’t helping here, Maddie.” I say growing aggregated by the second.
“I’m saying you look good-like, way too good. But I’m sure everything is going to be fine. Hayden and the boys have practice, even if they don’t. I doubt he would beat any guy that looks your way..” She rumbles out all at once. Trying to assure me. I would be lying if I said it worked.
“Let’s just go.” I say, walking past her. I felt a hard slap on my ass and turned to look at Maddie with a puzzled and disbelieving look.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself.” She smiled sheepishly, her hands raised up like a deer caught in a headlight.
I rolled my eyes at this, still feeling the stinging of her hands on my ass. We both made our way out of the changing room to the gym for our next class.
I pushed the door open, and it made a cringing sound. Maddie was the first to walk in before me. Suddenly the room went silent. I didn’t need a genius to tell me that I was the centre of attention. I was almost tempted to race out of the gym class, just to avoid this awkward moment.
I hurriedly made my way to where Maddie and Sofie were. I took a seat on the floor beside them, feeling lustful eyes on me.
“Okay, wow.” Sofie voiced out, looking out of words. “I don’t think you said you had spare clothes for her,” she asked Maddie.
“Yeah.” Maddie gestured.
Sofie scoffed, speaking again. “This is hardly a dress, Maddie; it covers nothing.” She counters. “You look hot, by the way, Bree, but don’t make the mistake of bending down if you don’t want to flash those perverted boys over your ass cheek.”
I followed her gaze, and right behind me were a group of boys whispering amongst themselves, licking and biting their lips. Their eyes are on me. I rolled my eyes at this, shifting my gaze from them.
“It’s a good thing Hayden isn’t here.”
” Really.” Maddie was caught off guard by the sound of the gym door being banged open. We all turned to look at who it was, and a shiver went through me when I saw an angry-looking Hayden on the way. He looked around the gym before settling on me. He stood for a moment, taking in my appearance, his jaw clenched and his fist white as snow.
“Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.” Sofie whispered as we both watched him stomp towards us.
I subconsciously stood up when he got to my side. He didn’t say anything. He took off his jacket and threw it over my shoulders. Since it was bigger than me, it easily covered half of my body. My lips parted as I tried to rack my brain for what to say when I heard a whistle being directed at me.
“When you are done, pass her to me. I will be sure to make her time worth it.” A boy shouted from behind me, and the rest of the room laughed.
It all happens in a flash; the next thing I know is Hayden grabbing a hold of the boy’s shirt as he repeatedly pounds his fist on his face, and I stand there in shock.
Bone cracking and jaw breaking were all I could hear while Hayden kept on plumping his fist. I felt someone shaking me, and I turned to look at Maddie and Sophie, giving me a worried look.
“We need to stop him before he kills the boy.” Sofie mutters, watching the crowd of students gather around them.
Dylan and Daniel raced inside the gym, running towards Hayden. They both held each side of his arms, trying to pull him back, but Hayden was too adamant and kept pushing forward.
“Let go of me. I’m going to teach him a lesson; that way, they all know never to disrespect my girl.” He says, managing to get out of Dylan and Daniel, rushing back to the semi-conscious boy on the floor.
His words sent butterflies down my stomach, but this wasn’t the time; I needed to get him to stop. I rushed in front of him when I saw he was about to land another hard blow on the boy’s face. His fist paused in the air, and his green eyes were directed to mine.
“Enough, Hayden; he isn’t worth it.” I whispered, taking a hold of the fist in the air. I opened it, locking my hand with his. He sighs and begins to step back when the gym door opens for the third time since I got here.
“Mr. King.” The loud voice of the principal boomed throughout the room. The crowd quickly dispersed, while two boys, whom I’m assuming are the boys friends, came to pick him up.
Hayden rolled his eyes, turning to face him. “Yes,” he answered in a very bored tone.
“To my office now.” He shouts his way, filled with rage. “And you too, Miss Adams.”
“Bree has nothing to do with this.” Hayden steps in, hiding me behind him. “If anything, she tried to stop me. You should be thankful.”
I stocked my head out from behind Hayden to see the principal jaw clenched, with visible rage.
“Very well then.” He stares. “To my office, Mr. King,” he turns to leave.
Hayden spins around to look at me, softly patting my head. My face was filled with worry, visible for him to see.
“Don’t worry, nothing is going to happen. That old fuck can’t do shit to me,” he says, assuring me. He helped out on his jacket, fully in my body. “Don’t ever wear this outside; I don’t know if I will be able to stop myself next time,” he says sternly, then turns to leave.
“Don’t worry about Hayden; principal Bradford can’t do anything to him.” Dylan assures. He missed Maddie on the lips before he and Daniel made their way out.
“Wow, that was…” Sofie stated, with Maddie completing it.
” epic.”
“Tell me something I don’t know.” I pressed my head into the jacket, and Hayden cologne filled my nostrils. “I will catch up with you guys later; I need to know if Hayden is okay.” They both nodded, and I waved at them before making my way out of the gym.
I walked towards the principal office, taking a seat at the bench placed in the hallway in front of his door, waiting for Hayden to come out. I didn’t have to wait for long as the door opened and Hayden came out, closing the door behind him.
I took a hold of his hand, dragging him along with me out of the hallway. He gave me a confused look, probably wondering where I was taking him. I stopped when I got to my destination, opening the nurse’s office.
I walked in with Hayden behind me, pushing him into the bed. I looked through the cabinet for a first-aid kit to treat the bruise in his knuckles. I dabbed the antiseptic harshly on his knuckles, and he flinched from the sting of pain.
“I see you are pissed.” He mumbles, flinching back once more.
“Good that you know.” I scoffed.
“It’s not like I got into trouble of any kind. I told you that fucktude couldn’t do shit to me; my family is a huge sponsor of the school.” He says, sounding a bit arrogant and cocky.
I pressed hard on his bruised knuckle and groaned, letting out a series of curses. “That still doesn’t give you the right to start a fight.” I said to him, like I was scolding a child.
“Then he shouldn’t have said those words to you.” I gave him a blank look at his attempt to try and justify his actions. When he saw my face, he let out a defeated sigh before speaking.
“It was wrong for me to hit him. I will try my best to retain myself, even though I know it’s going to be hard. Please don’t be angry..” He says it tiredly.
“I appreciate you standing up for me; I just think there are better ways to do that.” I say as I wrap the cotton around his hand, clipping it. “I don’t want you to get into unnecessary trouble because of me.” I said, resting my forehead on his chest.
“You are not, so don’t worry yourself about it.” He assures me. “As long as it’s you, I don’t care. You will always come first to me before anything else.” I laughed lightly, his words having an effect on me.
I raised my head to stare into his eyes, and slowly we started leaning in. Our noses were touching; our lips were almost touching.
“We should probably leave before the nurse comes in. We don’t want her meeting us in such a compromising state..” I said, moving back.
His hand stretched to grab mine, pulling me back towards him. I gave him a confused look, which was rewarded with a smirk on his face.
“Where do you think you are going?”
“To class.” I stated it in a matter-of-fact tone. “You do know we still…” I didn’t get to finish my words since Hayden’s lips cut me off. His lips were soft like always, and I melted and took his hold.
We kissed for some time, with his hand safely at the back of my head and my hands clenched against his chest cloth. We pulled away for breath with a smile plastered on our faces.
“Now we can go to class.” Hayden says, taking a hold of my hand. We both got out of the nurse’s office, smiling from ear to ear.
