“Gau-tosser huh…”
Seth teased Gautier to provoke him. He saw the wry grin on Gautier’s face, which meant that he understood Seth’s harsh words to him. Afterwards, Gautier was able to control his emotions again.
“Do you want to fight as a human or a wolf? I’ll give you three seconds to answer.”
Seth raised three fingers in the air. He folded his fingers one by one slowly and got no serious answer from Gautier. After folding his last finger, Seth made a move to attack Gautier in human form.
Seth ran quickly towards Gautier, but just before Seth’s hand touched Gautier’s face, the werewolf shifted back into wolf form and managed to bite Seth’s hand with his fangs.
“Shit!”
Seth instantly shifted his form back into that of a wolf. He immediately bit Gautier’s tail because it was the part of Gautier’s body that he managed to reach. With his strength, Seth bit Gautier’s tail firmly and pulled so that Gautier’s bite on his hand could be released.
Seth managed to free his hand from the black wolf’s bite. Now, two wolves had come and stood staring at Seth. Both of them grinned, showing off their sharp, slobbering fangs.
[One of them has a broken right rib, Seth.] Seth’s inner wolf voice informed him about the white wolf that had just arrived.
“Good, then we attack him first.”
Seth let Chris fight the white wolf with broken ribs. He knew that his father was not very good at fighting, so he baited the white wolf. He would finish his business with Gautier and the grey-brown wolf.
Seth growled back. He watched carefully and made a strategy to defeat the two wolves. He would attack Gautier first because Seth had heard Gautier purring softly when Seth pulled his tail earlier. The wounds he sustained would make it easier for Seth to immobilise him.
“Enough!”
Seth heard the voice of the witchwoman shouting loudly. Suddenly, Seth could not feel his body. Again, he had to stay motionless due to temporary paralysis. The witch had locked Seth’s entire body with a magic spell.
He also saw that his father was also silent, exactly like him at this time. Seth could only growl forcefully at the witchwoman to rebel, verbally. Seth watched as the witch walked beside him with an evil grin on her face.
“I will leave the battle for all of us for another day. Goodbye, sweet wolf.”
The witch swung her arms in the air. Instantly, Seth saw the wall in front of him turn into a portal. The witch allowed the rogue wolf, who was with her, to enter first. The three wolves, who were in the same room as Seth, had already stepped into the portal.
Seth also heard the quick steps of the fourth wolf that appeared from behind. The four of them entered the portal, leaving only the witch woman. The witch walked up to Seth and rubbed his head, then down to his muzzle.
“We will meet again, dear…”
Seth stared with his wolf eyes at the witch. He longed to rip her face off but was helpless as his body was stiffened by the spell. He looked at the witch’s details one more time before she disappeared behind the portal.
About half an hour after the portal closed, Seth was finally free from the magic spell. He immediately approached Chris, who had also been freed from the spell. Both of them immediately shifted into human form and searched for the whereabouts of the other pack wolves.
At the corner of the corridor, Seth and Chris met Eva, who was sitting on the floor. Seth saw that one of her fingers was broken and her temple was covered in blood. Chris quickly lifted Eva’s body and carried her to a wider area, while Seth kept walking to find the other wolves.
“Alpha, we lost them. They were tough wolves; we were overwhelmed by them,” Jadden said when he was in front of Seth.
“Where’s Will and the others?” Seth asked.
“Two warriors were badly injured, and one warrior was killed by the woman’s magic reflection. Will is helping the two injured warriors.”
“We gather in the front hall together with those injured wolves. I have to make sure Eva is okay. She’s also seriously injured.”
“Yes, Alpha.”

“I’ve sent a message to the Idris Council about this attack. Hang in there, Eva. Their doctor will be here soon.”
“Please seat me in a more comfortable position. I will open the portal so that your Luna can heal the wolves immediately. You must summon the wolves; I can only hold the portal for a minute.”
Chris understood. He straightened Eva’s body by leaning on the sofa. Once Eva had nodded her head, Chris immediately stepped out of the room to inform the wolves who were in the front hall.
With the help of the vampire staff, the Red Crescent Moon wolves had arrived at the room where Eva was. Eva immediately swung her hand to open the portal. With a few stifled groans of pain, Eva held the portal open until all the wolves were inside.
Just as Chris was about to help Eva lie back down, the doctor sent by the Idris Council came into the room. Chris quickly made room for the doctor in the long maroon robe to examine Eva. Chris knew that Eva had to be treated by a witch doctor as well, since all her injuries were the result of magic spells.
“Eva has a deep wound in her belly. She has a curse and needs to be treated with Redera leaves. I had to go back to the office to ask the Idris Council for permission to use the leaves. The redera plant is rare, so they guard it closely.”
“Just do it, doctor. I’ll hold out,” Eva said to reassure the doctor.
“I know you will survive. I’ll be back soon. Alpha Christian, please take care of Eva.”
“Yes, I will.”
Eva stared at the departing witch doctor. Chris was surprised to see the witch doctor open the door in the opposite direction. During his time at the Black Bold, he had only learned that the door could open both ways.
“The witches of the Idris Council will use the door plant to connect to buildings that they consider important.”
“What a unique way. Ah yes, I have to leave for a while to see how Geoffrey is doing. Once my wife comes, then I will leave you with her.”
“You’re not afraid that we’ll quarrel?”
“I hope I will never fight with you, Eva. She’s in awe of you.”
“Wow, in all your years together, this is the first time I’ve heard such a sincere confession. Tell me, What makes Hope admire me?”
