Edith was putting some clothes into an open suitcase on the bed. Edith rolled her eyes as she put on the last suit. She wiped the sweat dripping down her temples as she looked at Seth.
“It’s done. After working on it for an hour, it would have only taken me half an hour or even less. You’re making me unfocused, Seth,” complained Edith.
Seth just grinned. He removed his hand from Edith’s waist and laid himself down on the sofa to look at Edith. It seemed like Edith’s charm would not run out even if Seth looked at her all day long. The thought of Edith’s plain body without clothes occupied Seth’s mind. He thought that he should savour his wife because, in a few hours, he would be leaving England for France.
“Have you ever travelled far in wolf form?” asked Edith, breaking Seth’s reverie.
“Not yet. There are more convenient means of transport; why should I tyre myself out by running and swimming? I don’t like sweating for something like that. Any other sweat is fine,” Seth said as he grinned mischievously at Edith.
“By the Moon Goddess, give your Alpha some mind control on this one,” said Edith as she shook her head.
“I don’t know why I like teasing you so much, baby. Your cheeks are so red now! Do you want to sweat, as I said?”
“Can I refuse? You even dared to bite my neck, you naughty werewolf.”
“I need to replenish my supernatural energy before leaving.”
Seth had already pulled Edith onto the bed. In the next few minutes, only the sounds of moaning and swearing filled their room as a reaction to the pleasure the two were experiencing.

Edith nodded at Jen, who walked back into the school building. She waited on the pavement near the entrance. She was reluctant to go back into the classroom to accompany Jen, who was retrieving her mobile phone that she had left behind. She turned to face the school building to see Jen running into the building.
Edith felt something sharp touch her neck. A few seconds later, Edith felt her vision begin to blur and become completely dark.
When Edith opened her eyes, she looked at her surroundings. She could smell the dampness wafting through the room. Her eyes took in every detail of the room she was in. She wanted to know where she was.
Edith moved her hands, but she couldn’t because her hands were tied to the chair she was sitting on, as were her feet. She wanted to try and scream for help, but her mouth was covered by the tape.
Edith heard the sound of someone talking. The voice came closer and closer, making Edith prick up her ears. She heard the voice talking about her. She made movements with her hands to loosen her ties. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t let go.
Edith wished she could use her strength to break free. Nope, she was unable to use her powers because she had never practiced.
There was a creaking sound as the door opened. Edith focused her gaze on the door, where a man was walking towards her. The man grinned, showing off his two fangs, and said, “Hello, Edith Sherwood, or rather, Edith Novakovic, Half Blood Veela, The Last Descendant. My name is Maxence.”
Edith just mumbled incoherently. She moved her hands and stomped her feet repeatedly.
Maxence removed the tape from Edith’s mouth and said, “Sorry for making you uncomfortable. Our Elite Hunters had a hard time defeating that brown wolf, so I was just keeping watch.”
“What did you do to Jennifer?” asked Edith with emotion.
“We left her lying outside at your school,” replied Maxence casually.
“You’re a vampire, aren’t you? What do you want?”
“We want your blood. Unfortunately, we can’t move around freely. Tonight we leave for France.”
“Let go of me!”
Maxence shook his head. He just grinned at Edith and paid no attention to Edith’s screams that echoed in the room.
“Your blood is so tempting, Edith.”
A moment later, Maxence moved quickly towards Edith and sank both fangs into Edith’s neck. She sucked greedily until Edith cried out in pain. Just as Edith started to feel weak, she heard the sound of the door opening, and in a split second, Maxence’s body was already moving away from her.
Edith saw Kai pull Maxence’s body and throw it into the air pipeline in the upper corner of the room. Kai’s speed could not be seen clearly by Edith, so she could only see Maxence, who was slammed to and fro because of Kai’s attack.
Finally, Edith saw Maxence’s body lying on the floor. At that moment, Kai approached her and asked, “Can you move?”
Edith shook her head weakly. She could only move her hands slowly as Kai untied her. Kai carried Edith out of the room.
With blurred vision, Edith saw several bodies lying outside the room where she had been kept. She felt her legs were no longer able to walk.
Kai lifted Edith’s body and carried her. He ran quickly to leave the place. Kai saw Edith faint on his lap. He had to immediately give help to Edith, whose blood was almost drained.
Kai felt indecisive. He had to save Edith, which meant he had to bring Edith back to his pack. Red Crescent Moon was his gloomy patch of the past, and Kai struggled very hard to come to terms with his past.
Taking Edith to the hospital will create a stir because of her unnatural injuries. But Kai has a different kind of passion for Edith. He doesn’t want anything bad to happen to Edith, even though he also wants her blood in the beginning.
Kai arrived at the double doors of the pack house. He kicked in the door and rushed to lay Edith down in the nearest place he could reach. Panic filled the great hall of the pack house. Anxious looks coloured the faces of every werewolf who came into the room.
“Where’s Seth?” shouted Kai.
Will ran from the workroom to Edith. He gave Kai a glance and then said in a loud voice, “Jed, call Doctor Ashley, and you call Emma! The warriors tighten the guard and let Alpha Seth know as soon as possible.”
The werewolf commanded by Will immediately ran to do the Gamma’s command. Will turned his gaze back to Kai.
“Why is Luna with you, Kai?” Will asked, gritting his teeth.
“Better you help Edith first!” replied Kai with no less emotion.
They were both ready with their fists, but Ashley and Emma arrived in the hall.
“One of you, help me lay Edith down on the gurney,” cut Ashley as she showed the gurney she had prepared upon arriving in the great hall.
Will lifted Edith’s body to be laid on the gurney. He glared at Kai, who was just standing still, watching the current events. But Kai did not return Will’s gaze but instead directed his gaze at someone in the hall.
“Kai, you’re back…”
