A dark grey wolf was galloping in the middle of the forest. He smelled the scent of vampires that were around the waterfall. The wolf quickened its pace to quickly catch the vampire.
The wolf arrived at the side of the river that led to the waterfall. He found the vampire standing on the other side of the river. The vampire was smiling and showing his fangs to the wolf.
“You’re persistent too, McKirby. This isn’t their territory anymore.”
The dark grey wolf shifted himself into his human form. He stood up straight after returning to humanity. He clenched his hands into fists, restraining himself from the rage the vampire was deliberately provoking.
“It’s my job, Ancel; you violated the Idris Covenant. Mikael just needs proof of what you did. This is where I am; I will prove it because a werewolf was killed in this incident.”
“That won’t happen because I’m always faster than a dog.”
“Not before I separate your head from your body.”
The man had turned back into a wolf and jumped up on all fours. His feet rested on the large rocks in the middle of the river to make it to the other side. The vampire did not stay still. He also ran fast, but instead of running away from the wolf, he approached him, and they met in the air.
The wolf’s fangs reached the vampire’s arm and bit it until it was separated from his body. Groans of pain echoed in the air. The vampire didn’t falter with his sharp eyes; he got up after his body hit one of the large rocks in the middle of the river.
The vampire went for the wolf’s flank. They duelled on another boulder. The wolf’s claws tore into the vampire’s chest, but the wolf felt pain in both hind legs. The vampire managed to break the wolf’s pelvic bone, causing him to slip and fall into the river.
The vampire saw the wolf’s body fall over the waterfall and disappear. He groaned in pain a second time as he clung to a rock to keep from being swept away by the rushing river. A vampire had managed to pull Ancel from the riverbank and lay him on the ground.
“Where’s the wolf?” said another vampire.
“It got swept away. Shit! That dog almost tore my heart out. Get me out of here before the other wolves arrive.”
“Alright, Ancel!”

At the Red Crescent Moon’s pack house, Edith could hear the baby crying next to her. The sound made Edith’s happiness perfect. She held the little baby on her lap, and her tears just flowed. Her exhaustion was replaced by looking at the baby.
“My little caramel, you have such a beautiful eye colour.”
Suddenly, Edith heard the door open and saw Seth walk into the room with Emma. Edith could see the change in Seth’s face as he became happy upon seeing her.
“By the Moon Goddess, I almost went crazy waiting out there. Are you okay, Edith?”
“I’m fine, just a little tired.”
“After nursing your baby, you can rest. We will take care of your baby. Once everything is done, the pack will perform the welcoming rituals for the new family. It’s just a small ritual that doesn’t take much time. You can come too if you’re in a better state, dear! Call me when Edith is done breastfeeding. I have to bathe your baby.” Emma said as she turned and left both of them.
“All right, Emma.”
Edith breastfed her baby. It was painful, but pleasant. It was Edith’s first time. Giving birth to and breastfeeding her baby made Edith feel something new in her life. She saw the tiny hand moving against Edith’s skin.
“Thank you, baby. I have no words to say to you. This is so amazing. I’m so happy to see that you’re okay. I was so scared because Ashley wouldn’t let me in.”
“You’re a werewolf; childbirth is very emotional. Ashley probably took that into consideration. Julian’s birth was unexpected, and I had a hard time. I have to admit Ashley is a great pack doctor, so I got through it all. Okay, Julian. Your father wants to see you!”
“Julian? Oh, my little wolf.”
“It looks like I can trust your intuition from now on; he’s a boy.”
Edith handed the baby to Seth. The man grabbed it and seemed enthusiastic about the baby. He was so happy as he looked at the baby and said, “The colour of his eyes is different; how come?”
“You’re supernatural beings, so don’t be surprised if your baby’s eye colour is different. I can confirm she’s a hybrid, but we still don’t know what Edith is. I can see a golden aura emanating from his body.”
Ashley walked into the room and answered Seth’s questions. She replaced Edith’s depleted IV bottle with a new one.
“Which means he might be the golden wolf!” added Ashley.
“I thought it was just a legend,” Seth said to make sure.
“What are you guys talking about?” asked Edith as she straightened her seat.
“The golden wolf is a legend among werewolves. He has supernatural powers that surpass those of ordinary werewolves. While we ordinary werewolves have sensitive senses and great strength, the golden wolf has the ability to cast magic and control the elements found in nature. As long as werewolves have existed in this universe, the golden wolf has remained a legend. The Moon Goddess seems to have destined you two. Scientifically speaking, the genes of Edith, who has ‘unrevealed’ magic abilities, and Seth’s genes, who is a werewolf, could have happened. That’s just my conclusion, but Emma will tell you the full story. I’ll take your baby to Emma for a bath. Seth, you can help Edith recover,” Ashley explained.
Ashley walked out of the room with Edith’s baby. Edith was pensive as she thought about what Ashley had said. She thought Ashley’s explanation made sense, but the whole thing left a big question in Edith’s mind. If she was in danger, then so was the baby.
“Hey, what’s wrong? You seem nervous,” Seth asked.
“I was just thinking about something. You said I was in danger, which means Julian is too.”
“Edith, remember, there’s me. I won’t let that happen. Now don’t worry about that or what I can do to help you recover. You want to follow our ritual, don’t you?”
“Oh yes. Please help me clean myself up in the bathroom; I’m so sticky.”
“My pleasure.”

“Today, we have a new member. Beta Seth and Beta Female Edith have had a son. They named him Julian, and we will welcome him with honour because he is the legend, The Golden Wolf.”
Emma began the new member’s birth ritual solemnly. All werewolves simultaneously shifted into wolves and bowed on both feet in honour of the Golden Wolf, except Seth. Seth lifted his baby into the air, and a white light from the moon shone down on the baby afterwards.
“Moon Goddess, we present our new member, Julian. Please bless him with your grace,” said Seth with a resounding voice.
The white light enveloped the baby’s body, ripping it from Seth’s hands and sending it flying through the air. Seth shifted himself into wolf form and howled at the baby, followed by howls from all the wolves of the Red Crescent Moon Pack.
“Julian, the Golden Wolf. I endow you with the tenacity and wisdom of Alpha Christian, the toughness and courage of Alpha Seth, and the compassion of your mother, Luna Veela Edith,” said an invisible figure.
Seth straightened himself up on all fours. He thought his hearing must be wrong. He was not the Alpha, but his father was the Alpha, and Edith was the Veela.
But the Moon Goddess was never wrong.
