Chapter 638: Did He Also Come?

Book:Wrong Invitation For My Mr Right Published:2025-3-6

Which mother didn’t love her daughter?
Eva loved her daughter too.
But she had been hurt too deeply, so her desire to protect her daughter had reached an almost obsessive level. She would rather die than see her daughter marry someone she didn’t love for her sake. She feared her daughter would get hurt and end up like herself. How could that not be called “love”?
She just didn’t know how to speak kindly.
She felt that only scolding would make her daughter remember and listen.
“Mom, are you lonely down there?”
Rosalind gently stroked the tombstone, her eyes reddening. “Don’t worry. I will soon send the person who caused your death to meet you! If there could be a fair judgment, I could let go of everything and start my life anew. But if not, I have another way.”
In any case, those who harmed her mother wouldn’t escape!
At this moment, Rosalind’s eyes were filled with determination.
Her mother gave birth to her and raised her. She couldn’t just let things pass and let those crimes be buried while the culprits enjoyed their lives without any remorse.
Malcolm had been waiting at the cemetery below.
The staff passing by recognized him and greeted him, “Hello, Mr. Hines, here to visit your mother-in-law again?”
He smiled in response without explaining or denying it.
He stood there for a long time before seeing Rosalind walk down from above.
“Legs numb?”
He noticed Rosalind walking awkwardly.
Rosalind nodded, “Yeah, I talked a lot with my mom and forgot to change positions.”
“Let me help you. I don’t want you falling.”
The cemetery was on a mountain, and the way out was all downhill.
Rosalind initially waved him off but twisted her ankle after a few steps.
“Want me to carry you?”
“No need.” Rosalind shook her head but for safety’s sake, she placed her hand on his arm.
As they walked down, people who knew Malcolm greeted him.
Rosalind asked, “You know them all?”
“Yeah, I come often. If there’s a sudden rainstorm and it’s too heavy to leave, they let me stay in the cemetery office. We got to know each other.”
“Now they take extra care of Eva here! If I don’t come, they clean the tombstone regularly. They’re very kind.”
Rosalind looked at him and smiled, “My mom must be happy. She loved cleanliness. When Ms. Perkins was in the hospital, she always complained about wanting a bath. Because it wasn’t convenient to take a bath every day, she wiped herself down from morning till night.”
“Yes, I noticed! When I visited her at Central Union Hospital, she never stopped with the towel in her hand.”
“Thank you for taking care of her for so long.”
“You’re welcome! I might as well accept this or you’d keep repeating thanking me!”
Rosalind felt helpless. Malcolm seemed to treat everyone like children after taking care of kids so much.
As they neared the road, she looked up instinctively for where her car was parked.
Suddenly…
She saw a black Maybach driving away from the cemetery entrance.
The car moved too fast for her to catch the license plate number.
But…
Ulric often rode in a Maybach.
Did he also come?
“What are you looking at?” Malcolm asked gently.
“Nothing! Now that I paid my respects to Ms. Perkins, I am preparing to pack up and go to Sweden with Ulric.”
