Castor PoV.
I woke up in the morning while Godiva was still fast asleep. Her presence calmed me down a bit after a day of meeting with several Apha from the 3 allied packs, and the result was that we would still form an alliance in shadow.
I attracted a select few warriors who guarded Blackmoon’s vital financial sector. Nightclubs, casinos, weapons factories, and corporations. Given the number of Death Sanguine that used to reach 20 vampires, I would recruit about 8 to 10 werewolves for the alliance.
We also agreed to use the training facility at the Eclipse Guardian pack to hide our activities. Alpha Moses was kind enough to contribute by lending land and buildings for warriors who joined the alliance.
Unlike Alpha Elmer of the Thunder Canines pack, who supplies all training activities with considerable funds. I’ve received a check from Alpha Elmer, and I’ve assigned Alvise to cash it. His background as a conglomerate in the northern region made it easy for him to provide liquid funds to the alliance.
I got out of bed and allowed Godiva to continue sleeping. Every love language that we shared was an exciting moment for me. Even without mating, I felt the energy recharge she gave me.
I got a report from Pollux that she was exhausted after training yesterday. I forgave her because it was her first time doing it. I slightly regret not being with her yesterday.
I wanted Godiva to be a strong Luna. With the arrival of the Sanguine Shadows, Godiva must be able to equip herself with defenses. Pollux and I won’t be by her side forever. I have to take care of the werewolf world, and Pollux has to take care of business in the human world.
I doused myself under the shower while thinking hard. Should I send one of my warriors to investigate the Sanguine Shadows? I want the certainty of knowing their movements.
As soon as I got out of the shower, I immediately thought of Pollux. I haven’t seen him since yesterday. We’ve only been messaging each other through our cell phones.
[Pollux?]
I used the mind link to call him. There was no response from Pollux, so I called a second time. He answered in a hoarse voice.
[What’s up, Cas?]
[Meet me at the office in half an hour.]
I prepared to compromise with Pollux. When I came out of the walk-in closet, I saw that Godiva was already awake and sitting on the bed, stretching her arms.
“Good morning, Alpha Castor. Are you feeling better?” She asked with her mouth wide open from yawning.
“Yeah, thanks. I’ll ask Iride to prepare breakfast. From now on, you must pay attention to your food intake. You should also practice, and the rest of the time you can use to relax your own body. I apologize if I haven’t paid much attention to you these past few days.”
I brushed her long gray hair and tucked the hair behind her ear. There was something different about Godiva’s appearance. Her body was getting fuller by the day. I think she was starting to enjoy her new identity of being a Moon Goddess descendant werewolf and was happier because of it.
Anyone should take pride in being something special, right?
I believed in that. Godiva was motivated because I saw the sparkle of happiness in her eyes. Although she still sometimes felt insecure about herself, it was our job to bring up her confidence.
“I understand that you are busy. Being the leader of Moonstone and Blackmoon must not be easy, even though you are also assisted by Alpha Pollux. Can I ask you something, Alpha?”
“Ask away.”
“Are you bothered by the news about your father?”
“I’m not too bothered about it. Let him do what he wants; I don’t care anymore.”
I didn’t want to discuss this matter with Godiva. Every time I thought about it, I would become upset myself and would want to challenge my father. I’d rather use my time to take care of other things.
Godiva did not discuss it again. While walking to the room, I asked Iride to prepare our breakfast with the mind link. I also explained to Godiva, who accompanied me to breakfast, all the training she had to do.
She did not complain as much as Pollux had told me. Do the two of them still argue much? Sometimes I think about the interaction between them. They could get into an argument, and afterward it would be back to normal.
I looked at Godiva, who was eating her food with gusto. I even asked Iride to bring more breakfast, and Godiva finished it without any leftovers. As long as it made her happy, I would not mind her appetite.
“Alpha Castor, can I visit the restaurant again? I miss Alfonso.”
“I allow it, but still be accompanied by a warrior. If there is any change in plans, you must contact me immediately.”
“Thank you. Sometimes I feel bored just sitting and walking around the mansion. I also want to go outside by myself. You know-me time?”
I smiled and nodded my head. She looked happy when I allowed it. I asked Alvise to set Godiva’s agenda for today with the mind link.
He replied to me in a breathless voice. I pretended to be unaware of the situation and ordered him to organize Godiva’s agenda anyway. Mating season is only a week away, and I think Alvise stole a head start.
[Prepare two bodyguards for Luna Godiva and you, meet us in the study in five minutes.]
[I will, Alpha.]
I chuckled to myself at having managed to prank him. I looked at Godiva who shook her head after taking her eyes off me. Without me realizing it, Godiva must have heard our conversation. That’s why she reacted like that.
She said goodbye to me. I kissed her forehead and waited for her to disappear behind the direct access door to her room. I hurriedly put on my clothes and walked into the study.
Pollux arrived a few minutes after I put my phone on the desk. Alvise also arrived looking a bit disheveled. I snorted at him and still pretended not to know.
“I have an idea to spy on the Sanguine Shadows. Are you guys okay with this?” I pulled out a chair to sit down then looked at him as I waited for an answer.
“‘Suit yourself. You said the Elders haven’t agreed on this warrior alliance yet. I think this is a good idea. After all, they must have a tendency towards Godiva. I saw it clearly when Virgil looked at Godiva,” Pollux said smoothly.
“I agree with Alpha Pollux. Vampires cannot be underestimated. You remember Virgil’s words at the Consulate that he would never forget how his lover died.”
“Ah, I almost forgot that. In that case, who do you suggest to do this reconnaissance task?”
“Uhm. There are two warriors who are proficient in disguise and human technology. I suggest using the human way to obscure our tracks.”
I considered Alvise’s suggestion. I thought the idea was pretty good. Virgil would definitely be outwitted this way.
Some human technology is also quite helpful for us werewolves. We’ve adapted to human habits. I would ask Alvise to prepare everything. All for Godiva and the survival of our race.
