Morrison Steelhart had shockingly commanded the final attack on Amerosia.
Did Morrison Steelhart not worry about the safety of his son, Thorne Steelhart? After all, Thorne Steelhart was his most beloved child.
No one dared to question Morrison Steelhart’s orders. As the High Sovereign of Great Lyria, his word was absolute.
Morrison Steelhart lifted his head and commanded, “Bring in the Grand Mentor!”
Moments later, an elderly man with one arm entered.
If Chris had been present, he would have been utterly stunned. This one-armed elder was none other than Ethan Stone!
Who would have thought that after arriving in Aethelgard and surviving a harrowing ordeal, Ethan Stone had been saved by Morrison Steelhart? Since then, Ethan Stone had remained in Great Lyria, eventually becoming its Grand Mentor.
Ethan Stone looked at Morrison Steelhart with respect. “High Sovereign, what do you require of me?”
Morrison Steelhart gazed at him and said, “Grand Mentor, my son Thorne Steelhart has been captured by Archer Wintersong’s daughter. I ask you to lead a team to rescue Prince Thorne.”
Ethan Stone smiled faintly. “High Sovereign, rest assured. I will personally lead the cultivators and bring back Prince Thorne.”
The next day, morale in the Amerosia army reached its peak.
Everyone believed that Great Lyria had reached its breaking point. The outcome of the war seemed inevitable.
However, Seraphina remained vigilant. She ordered the entire Amerosia army to maintain high alert, anticipating a possible attack from Great Lyria.
Inside the war tent, Seraphina and her advisors were holding a meeting. Thorne Steelhart, the Great Lyria prince, was brought in, bound.
Thorne glared at Seraphina and the others, cursing angrily. “Release me! Otherwise, my father will not forgive you!”
Seraphina glanced at him indifferently and said, “Don’t worry. I won’t kill you. But until the war ends, you’ll have to endure staying here.”
With a wave of her hand, she ordered, “Take him away.”
The guards dragged Thorne Steelhart out.
Though his face darkened with rage, Thorne Steelhart understood his precarious position and dared not act recklessly.
Afterward, Seraphina scanned the room, her expression serious. “Great Lyria will likely begin retreating in the next two days. But before they withdraw, they will surely launch one last fierce attack. All of you must remain vigilant and prepare for their next assault!”
“Yes!”
The officers nodded solemnly before exiting the tent.
Meanwhile, Chris was still disguised as a low-ranking Amerosia soldier.
He had no intention of revealing his identity, especially with Alexandre Leite and Elias Dorneles also present in the military camp.
These two were not ordinary enemies-they were backed by the influential Sword Clan and Flower Clan, respectively. Both clans were among the most powerful in Amerosia, with even Elysium-level cultivators in their ranks.
Chris didn’t fear Alexandre or Elias, but he knew the consequences of provoking their backing clans. Unless absolutely necessary, Chris would not expose himself.
That night, Chris had a foreboding feeling.
Something big was about to happen.
Suddenly, shouts pierced the silence.
“Attack!”
“Kill them all!”
“Charge!”
The Great Lyria army had launched a ferocious assault on Amerosia’s forces.
In mere moments, the battlefield descended into utter chaos.
Amidst the fierce clashes, Ethan Stone and a small group of men infiltrated the Amerosia camp.
Ethan Stone’s mission was clear: rescue Thorne Steelhart.
“That’s the tent!”
Ethan Stone quickly located Thorne Steelhart’s holding area.
Several Pinnacle-level guards stood watch outside. However, they were no match for Ethan Stone and were swiftly dealt with.
After clearing the guards, Ethan Stone entered the tent.
“Prince Thorne!”
Inside, he saw the bound Thorne Steelhart.
Thorne’s face lit up with joy. “Grand Mentor, have you come to rescue me?”
“Prince Thorne, I’ll get you out of here.”
Without wasting time, Ethan Stone untied him. The two then exited the tent together.
As soon as they stepped outside, Ethan Stone’s face fell.
Surrounding them stood rows upon rows of warriors clad in red armor.
These were the Emberwood Guards, Amerosia’s elite.
Seraphina emerged, her gaze cold as she addressed Ethan Stone. “Ethan Stone, to think you’ve betrayed Amerosia and sided with Great Lyria. You’re nothing but a traitor.”
Ethan Stone instantly realized they had walked into a trap-Seraphina’s trap.
Without hesitation, he shouted, “Retreat!”
With Thorne Steelhart in tow, Ethan Stone and his men fought their way out.
The clash was intense.
Lindsay Windson, among Amerosia’s forces, also joined the fight against Ethan Stone.
Upon noticing her, Ethan Stone’s eyes brightened.
He recognized Lindsay Windson as one of Chris’s friends.
Without hesitation, Ethan Stone lunged at her.
Lindsay Windson, unprepared, was quickly subdued and captured.
At that moment, Chris arrived.
Seeing Lindsay Windson in Ethan Stone’s grasp, Chris’s expression darkened.
“Let her go!” he shouted, drawing his Dragon Slayer sword. He charged at Ethan Stone without hesitation.
Ethan Stone was taken aback. “Chris? I never expected you to come to Aethelgard as well. Men, kill him!”
Ethan Stone’s rage boiled over. Chris had once severed one of his arms and killed two of his disciples.
At his command, several Pinnacle-level cultivators attacked Chris.
Chris roared, “Die!”
Swinging his Dragon Slayer, he sent one cultivator flying with a single slash.
The battle escalated. Pinnacle-level cultivators fell one after another under Chris’s blade. Wherever Chris went, he left a trail of destruction.
Witnessing Chris’s overwhelming strength, fear spread among the enemies.
Ethan Stone, seething with anger, ignored Chris and retreated with Lindsay Windson and Thorne Steelhart, heading deep into Great Lyria’s territory.
