Jasira gulped the water down her throat washing the sweet salty taste in her mouth. She slumped to the bed after capping the bottle water relishing in the sadness that she lost the taste. Rolling to the other side of the bed, a loud sigh left her mouth.
What was this feeling that was overwhelming her? She hated him yet
her heart flipped in joy when he called her beautiful. Why does she feel butterflies in her stomach when he caressed her cheeks like he had never seen a beautiful sight other than that?
“Ugh!” She groaned rolling to another side of the bed. Why won’t the thought leave her head? This is getting annoying.
She lied down on her back facing the ceiling with reddish cheeks. Sometimes your body denied you what you want so much, despite hating Alejandro her body kept rejecting the hatred towards him. “This is very annoying!” She screamed frustrated into her hand before broking into a low sob.
“Well, it’s nothing.” She said to herself after some minutes of whallowing in pity. Basing her mind on the thought, she felt a bit better than before. She grabbed her phone on the nightstand to play some games, putting all the thoughts aside as she focused on the games she was playing.

Jasira woke up with a spinning head and pounding heart. Sweats tricked down her forehead to her face as she lied stationary on the bed facing the ceiling. ‘Mom, dad, Joe.’ Her scream hunted her even when she was awake. She shut her eyes close trying to blocked the ugly memories off her head but it was not working. She hated her life for this, the nightmare was hunting her again and now she don’t have drugs to escape from it. How long can she even escape from it? It has been ten years yet it’s fresh in her memories like it happened yesterday.
She sat up, making the comforter drappled to her waist. Just the movement set her into another strong episode of headache. She had to leaned backward, and rest her head on the headboard and slowly massaged her temple to calm down.
After staying in that position for a while, she finally became steady pushing all the thoughts off her mind, she was ready to start a new day, thinking about that made her heart skipped. She was still in this stupid manor and every day was a problem for her. She hissed at the reality that her life would never be good again but what could she do about it? Absolutely nothing so she was just going to accept this as fate.
She rolled the comforter off her body so she could be free before crawling out of the bed. The cold floor made her feet shiver as she walked on the floor, why did forget to wear her socks to sleep yesternight? She quickly slide into her bathroom slippers and walked wobbly into the bathroom.
A yawn escape from her mouth as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. She looked like she just wrestle finished with her puffled reddish face.
She caressed her fingers through her face and sighed, she felt a ping in her chest just by looking at herself. She never cared about her look before but why was she worried now? She was becoming another version of herself. Or is it because she wanted to stay beautiful for Alejandro?
“Of course, not.” She cackled loudly while slamming her hand on her forehead. “Jasira, you better erased that thought from your mind.” She warned herself and she laughed at her idiocy.
A loud sound that expelled from her stomach made her stop her silly act, she brushed her teeth quickly and have a bath. She didn’t have anything before sleeping yesterday because her leftover was almost finished. She really need real food but the thought of stepping out and getting into trouble like other time scared the fuck out of her. No, she rather starved than be in such a situation again. The ugly situation is the one that lead to her first sex with Alejandro. She cringed up just by remembering that.
After having her bath, she expected to found Alejandro sitting on her bed like his normal thing but surprisedly, the bed was empty. She didn’t know why there was a pinch in her heart and a shallow feeling overwhelming her. She should happy he isn’t here but she was sad instead.
What is happening to her? Why is she being like this? She let out a tired sigh before trudging heavily toward the closet. She settled for a red flared sleeveless gown that stopped above her knee.
She grabbed her phone from the dresser to call her mother when the door whacked open suddenly making her jerk up which caused her phone to scatter all over the floor.
“Shit.” She cursed staring tearfully at the spoilt phone. Tears welled up in her eyes just the thought of how she was going to get money to repair it. She just got this phone recently, why did fuck does it have to spoil now?
She look up to see Alejandro fixing his eyes on her pieces phone, disgust ran up on his face, his lips were twist to a side as he scorned at it. She felt her inside burning just by looking at him. How could he be angry at this moment when she was the one who supposed to be angry that he didn’t knock before entering. Just because this was his house doesn’t mean he should be stupid enough not to know how to knock.
“You should be knocking before coming in here for real.” She hissed loudly as she bent down to picked the scattered phone.
Alejandro stared at her in disbelieve not being able to believe what she just said now. He scoffed before he lunched toward her and crouched down slowly as he seethed in anger.
“Did you just say that to me?” His deep cold voice seething into her body like a needle, she jerk her head up and she gasped seeing his cold dark eyes.
He grabbed her hair and yanked her up. “My hair.” She cried holding the root of her hair to lessened the pain but it only worsened.
“Huh?” He barked. His blue eyes turned darker to a midnight blue. Shallow and void of emotions.
“I’m very sorry.” She begged wringling out of his hold but it was too tight for her.
“Shut the hell up.” He thundered.
His muscles bunched further, so tense that she trembled beneath his touch.
He held her tighter against his hand and twisted her neck in such a way she could stare at into his darkened eyes.
She struggled against his hold sobbing as she shut her eyes tightly. She couldn’t glanced up into his terror-filled eyes. What was she thinking saying that to him? He was not going to forgive her this time around?
Fear crawled up her body and she trembled greatly as she felt Alejandro’s free fingers crawling up her face, warning her to open her eyes. She could felt his icy claws digging into her sweat-slicked cheeks threatening to tore it open if she didn’t opened her eyes immediately.
“Open your damn eyes.” He warned digging his nails deeper into her skin. He was at the tip of drawing blood.
Jasira let out a loud groan when he forcefully dug his nails into her cheeks and blood split out.
She snapped her eyes open immediately, bile rose to her throat seeing blood rolled out of her cheeks like water.
“Another rule, speak to me with respect, and don’t you ever hiss at me again.” He warned jerking her head up so she could stared at him.
“Understand.” He barked angrily and she jerked in his clutch.
“Ye.. yes.” She stammered feeling her stomach swirling with fear crawling all over her body.
“You got it?” He asked for re-assurement between his gritted teeth.
“Better.” He snarled dropping his hand from her hair like she was a disease. She fell on her knee with a loud thud which doesn’t bothered him.
Jasira was stepping over her boundary. He might appreciate her ferocity behavior and fearless attitude but she was forgetting the fact that he was the devil. He felt nothing as he watched her bend her head with her hair covering all of her face. She drawled her knees to her chest in such a way to shrink so she could hide away from him.
It pulled nothing out of him. He didn’t care if she was hurt or not, he had a lot of things to be worried about and a lady he bought with his money was not one of them. He scorned at her before he hissed and stormed out.
Jasira refused to glance up even after hearing the door snapped close. Her eyes were wide open, showing a lot of the sclera. She didn’t want to cry even when her eyes burned while keeping her tears at bay. She hated her life, the life Alejandro chose for her. She hated him also and this stupid manor.
She sniffed drawling her knee tightly to her chest, maybe if they never met, everything would have been okay. Or if her mother was never sick, she won’t have accepted the devil’s money.
A drop of blood dropped on her knee. She bought her finger to it and swiped it away. Her heart pulled tightly again and she sniffed again.
She pulled herself together and stood to her feet. She exhaled and inhaled.
Exhaled and inhale.
Exhaled, inhaled and exhale. She stood before the mirror, watching the blood roll out of her cheeks.
Her heart burned and filled with hatred for just a person. The man who forcedly took her freedom away from her. The man causing her pain one minute and made her feel alive with his hands another. She thought he was not the devil they tagged him as when he ordered the maid to gave her food. When he released her when she tried to escape but she was wrong and that made her heart burn badly.
She swore she was going to make him paid for everything even if she lost her life at the process. At the back of her mind, she knew that was a mere threat from a tiny girl like her to the devil. A wish and promise that could come true. She splashed the water on her face frustrated.
She scrubbed out the blood and glanced at his nails-scar on her cheek and jaw. The jaw was fading but the cheeks looked red and ruddy, dried blood lingered around the wounds.
She snapped her close and inhaled deeply. She would make him pay as she would revenge her family’s death.
