Chapter 618: It Was Indeed My Own Choice

“Yes!” Johnny’s voice rose as he continued, “We have reached the point in our relationship where we’re ready to get married. And I’m going to meet her parents!”
“But you haven’t known each other for very long.”
Ulric thought they were moving forward too fast, like children playing house, not serious at all.
Although it wasn’t surprising that Johnny would do something reckless like this, the fact that he wanted to marry Tilda made Ulric feel compelled to remind him since Tilda was Rosalind’s best friend.
“Didn’t you fall in love with Rosalind at first sight? Rosalind didn’t agree to date you back then, but Tilda has agreed to be with me now.”
“Would you have refused if Rosalind had agreed to be your girlfriend back then? Would you have said it was too soon, or that it wasn’t serious enough?”
Refusing was definitely out of the question.
Ulric had no response to that.
“Don’t worry, buddy. I’m serious this time. I want to get married and have a couple of kids, like Jake and Floyd! You’re with Rosalind now and have children, so I need to step up my game too.”
After a few more reminders, Ulric hung up the phone, while Rosalind was asking Tilda on the phone.
“Did Johnny threaten you? Tell me, don’t be afraid. I’ll stand up for you.”
On the other end of the line, Tilda hesitated before saying, “He did do something a bit over the line, but agreeing to be with him was indeed my own choice.”
“What made you change your mind so suddenly?”
Rosalind remembered that Tilda not only disliked Johnny but even hated him.
When they picked her up at the airport after returning home, they even ended up in a fight! How could things change in just a few days?
“Well… I found his parents really nice, and Johnny does seem genuinely serious.” Tilda could feel that Johnny treated her differently.
Otherwise, with his limited patience, if there were any woman acting this way, he would have already cut ties with her. How would he keep pursuing her?
If Howard did these things, it wouldn’t be surprising. But this was Johnny, someone admired by many women who didn’t need to please any woman.
“And what about you? What do you think?” Rosalind didn’t want her to rush into a relationship so carelessly. “Do you like Johnny?”
There was a long moment of silence on the other end of the phone.
“He’s quite handsome, more so than any of my ex-boyfriends.”
“Just because of his face?”
Tilda laughed dryly a few times. “If I said anything else now, even I wouldn’t believe it! We’ve only known each other for a short time and haven’t really gotten to know each other yet. What attracts me for now are his wonderful parents and Johnny’s handsome face.”
Otherwise, they wouldn’t have started anything at all.
After all, Tilda really disliked people who had been involved with Sirena.
“Johnny just mentioned meeting your parents. Are you two planning to get to know each other for a while or… get married so quickly?” Rosalind sensed from Tilda’s words that she hadn’t really fallen for Johnny yet. If they got married now, it would definitely be unrealistic.
“Don’t listen to his nonsense! I just agreed to date him. Talking about marriage is way too early. Even though I’m quite attracted to good looks, I’m not stupid!”
Rosalind felt relieved hearing her say that.
“Alright then, as long as you know what you’re doing.”
“Don’t worry. I’m not someone who loses their head over love. Otherwise, I would have agreed to date Johnny long ago.”
