Melody mumbling to herself, complaining about the small argument with her and Damian. While she mumbling to herself, she was washing the dishes in annoyance.
“Are you okay, Mel?” Celestia asks.
“Yes, I’m fine,” she huffs.
“Sounds like not,” Celestia chuckles. “Is there something wrong between you and Damian again?”
She grunts and puts down the dishes, “He’s so annoying!! He never listens to me! His ego is too high that I can’t even reach it!!”
“Mel, he’s in the hard time, you know that right?” Celestia smiles softly.
Melody sighs, leaning on the counter, “I know…I just…couldn’t handle seeing him torture by himself.”
“He’s just being hard on himself. Maybe you can gently talk to him. I believe only you can melt it away,” Celestia said.
“It annoyed me sometimes,” she rolls her eyes. “He never listens to me sometimes…”
“He’s just trying to fight the truth,” Celestia chuckles. She sits on the chair, pouring some tea for herself.
Melody pouted; she crossed her arms on her chest. She knows what Celestia is trying to say.
“Hey, did anyone see my jacket?” Matthew walks in.
“No,” Celestia answers without looking at him.
“You are the one who used it last time!!” He grunts. “Where did you put it!?”
“I don’t remember where I put it beside, it’s old,” she takes a sip of the tea.
Matthew gasped, his hands on his chest as if he was offended by her words. “Excuse me! I bought that last week! It’s not that old!
Melody, who standing there just watching their argument. She felt she was used to this argument already, since they have always been fighting.
“It is. And I got to say, you got a bad taste in fashion,” she smirks.
“I’m not. Between me and Victor, I’m the one who got the good taste in fashion. Not even you,” he scoffs.
Celestia narrows her eyes at him, “Everyone will stare at me if I walk down that street. They will take a picture of me, you don’t even know that.”
“That is because they never saw an ugly face like yours,” Matthew sneers.
“What did you say!?” She abruptly gets up, raising her voice. “How dare you talk about my face!?”
Matthew smirks, “I’m just telling the truth,”
Melody sighs, shaking her head slightly. She wipes her hands and takes off her apron. “I will be at Damian’s office.”
“Little flower!! Help me here! Celestia make fun of me!!” Matthew voices, asking for back, reach her.
“Handle it yourself! You are a grown up man!” Melody yells as she went upstairs.
Damian is typing on his laptop. As he focusing on his work, the door opens and he already guesses who it is. Since Melody is the only one who didn’t knock when she came in.
“What is it, love?” He asks without looking at her.
“Celestia and Matthew fighting again. I can’t handle it,” Melody said as she sits on his armchair.
“Yeah, they are always like that,” he said, nonchalantly. “It’s not like you didn’t used to it.”
Melody just hummed. She stared at his laptop screen, looking at the charts and some numbers.
“Hey…”
“If you are going to talk about Riccardo, I’m going to put paper in your mouth right away,” he warned her.
Melody rolls her eyes, “Whatever. You can’t just feed your ego, you know right?”
“I’m not-you know what? I don’t want to talk about this. It will make both of us argue,” Damian sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“That’s because you never listen to me,” she sighs.
“It’s not like I don’t listen to you…I just…didn’t know what to say,” Damian leans his back on the chairs.
“Riccardo tries his best to fix everything. Give him time, yeah?” She smiles. “I don’t want to force you anymore since you are trying your best as well.”
“But…at least let him speak. Okay?”
Damian listens to her words. He let out a small sigh and nods. Then, his hand reached to hers, intertwined their fingers together.
“I do this for you so that you can shut this up,” he scoffs.
“That’s rude,” Melody pouts.
“Anyway, I don’t think we should go out again this time,” he speaks out.
“Why?” Melody arches her eyebrows.
“Matthias is on his move right now. His men are outside and watching over you. Remember the car that you saw the time we went to your bakery?” Damian looks at her.
She nods.
“He’s just waiting for his chance to take you,” he explains.
“So, we’re just going to stay here?” She asks.
Damian was silent for a moment. His other hand tapping on his desk. He doesn’t want to lock his wife in the house. It might bring stress to her.
“I have to make a plan to make this stop-”
“Then, we use my plan!” Melody grins.
He looks at her with confusion, “What plan?”
“The plan where I said we use me as a bait,” she said innocently.
Damian’s expression darkened. He gritted his teeth as he remembered he had reminded her not to talk about this. But seeing her innocently smile like this makes him stop himself.
“Mel, I told you not to talk about this. We have discussed this and I disagreed,” he firmly speaks.
“But, if we don’t do this, Matthias wouldn’t appear,” she talks back.
“And I wouldn’t let you risk your life just to catch Matthias,” Damian glares at her. “Stop talking about this, I warn you.”
“Are you going to stay here and say ‘I need to find some way to get on Matthias’ over and over again? Yeah, keep doing that,” Melody scoffs, talking in sarcasm.
“Mel, I-”
The loud sounds startled them. It sounds like gunshots. Before Melody could speak, Damian grabbed her wrists and pulled her to the closet in his office.
“Stay here-DON’T even move,” Damian firmly said.
“Wait-” before Melody could speak, he shut the closet door.
She stays in the closet, with her heart pounding. All she hears is the sounds of chaos from downstairs.
