Noticing the Malevolent Twins’ facial expressions, Derick sneered, “the Malevolent Twins, we may not be your match, but either Elder Frost or Elder Thunder alone can ensure you meet your end without a proper burial!”
Evan Malice glared sinisterly at Derick and Glenn, his aura menacing, but he ultimately did not make a move.
“The Malevolent Twins, I will count to three. If you do not leave, I will summon the two Elders!” Derick said as he flipped his right hand to reveal a warning jade talisman.
“You two old brats…” Seeing the Jade Talisman in Derick’s hand, Evan Malice’s face twisted in anger.
“Three!” Derick began counting down, staring at the Malevolent Twins.
“Two!”
“Hmph, you old brats, don’t let my brother and me run into you again. We’re leaving!” Evan Malice spat out a threat and, along with Derek Malice, transformed into a black light and vanished.
“Hmph, if it weren’t for the two Elders being occupied in the valley, those two ugly creatures would already be corpses!” Derick snorted angrily as he watched the Malevolent Twins flee.
“Forget it. There’s no need to bother. It’s best they know their place; otherwise, disturbing the Elders would be troublesome,” Glenn said calmly.
Behind a thick snow-covered cedar tree, Leo’s eyes narrowed at the mention of Elder Frost and Elder Thunder.
Since becoming enemies with the Runecarver Sect, Leo had learned about them. The Runecarver Sect had four Elders: Elder Blaze, Elder Frost, Elder Rain, and Elder Thunder. These four Elders were second only to the Sect Leader and had reached the peak of the upper-tier Spirit Saint realm decades ago.
This was why the Malevolent Twins chose to leave upon hearing their names; ordinary individuals could not force them away.
“Leo, should we still go in?” Seraphina asked Leo through a voice transmission.
Leo withdrew his gaze from the valley entrance and, after a moment of silence, nodded firmly. At that moment, the Nine-Petal Ice-Soul Lotus in his dantian was reacting more intensely, indicating its excitement.
“The Runecarver Sect occupies this valley and has stationed two Elders to guard it. There must be some treasure inside. We can’t let the Runecarver Sect have it,” Leo transmitted. “Seraphina, maybe you should wait here. I’ll go in alone.”
Seraphina glanced at Leo. Being intelligent, she understood that Leo said this to avoid dragging her into danger. After all, two of the four Elders of the Runecarver Sect were in the valley, and their strength was extraordinary.
“Let’s go together,” Seraphina replied.
“Alright,” Leo nodded, knowing Seraphina was worried about him facing danger alone. If they encountered trouble in the valley, Leo was confident he could escape with Seraphina.
“I’ll deal with those two old things first,” Leo said before disappearing.
“Who’s there?!” Sensing someone approaching, Glenn and Derick’s expressions changed as they shouted.
The next second, they saw a familiar figure rushing toward them.
“It’s you!” Glenn’s face darkened upon recognizing Leo.
Derick’s gaunt face turned icy cold. Both Glenn and Derick activated their spiritual power simultaneously.
Leo’s eyes were cold as extreme icy sword energy condensed in his hands. With a swift motion, two beams of icy sword energy pierced through the air toward Glenn and Derick.
The icy sword energy moved extremely fast. Glenn and Derick barely had time to retrieve their defensive talismans before the beams pierced their necks.
Derick’s eyes locked onto Leo as he tried to crush the warning Jade Talisman in his left hand. However, his body stiffened before he could act. Both men fell rigidly into the snow, lifeless.
Having successfully ambushed them without allowing Derick to crush the Jade Talisman, Leo breathed a sigh of relief. He grabbed the Storage Sacks from Derick and Glenn’s bodies.
Seraphina appeared beside him in a flash of fragrant wind. “Let’s go in,” Leo said, turning his gaze toward the valley entrance.
They concealed their presence and quietly entered the ice valley. The valley path was long and flanked by high stone walls. Snow covered the path, and snowflakes continuously fell from the sky above, creating a cold and white landscape.
After advancing about a hundred meters into the valley path, Leo suddenly stopped. “Wait,” he said.
Seraphina halted and looked at Leo.
“There’s an invisible Talisman array ahead,” Leo said solemnly as he gazed forward.
Seraphina looked ahead but saw nothing but a white expanse. Trusting Leo’s words, she extended her spiritual sense and detected numerous invisible Talismans forming an array. Each Talisman moved rapidly along a specific trajectory.
Such an invisible array could only be set up by someone highly skilled in Talisman Path. If any human Cultivator or beast touched any Talisman in the array, it would trigger an attack and alert the array’s creator immediately.
With Derick and Glenn guarding the entrance and an invisible array set up in the valley path, it was clear that something extraordinary was hidden within this ice valley.
“Seraphina, let’s proceed carefully and avoid touching these Talismans,” Leo reminded her.
Seraphina nodded. Leo flashed into the invisible array first, using his Mysterious Heaven Body Technique to dodge the floating Talismans. Seraphina followed gracefully, avoiding each Talisman as well.
In just over ten seconds, they both emerged from the array unscathed. They concealed their presence again and continued deeper into the ice valley.
After five or six minutes of walking through the valley path, they emerged into a vast valley filled with snow-covered boulders scattered around. From deeper within the valley came faint sounds of human Cultivators shouting and beasts growling.
Leo and Seraphina exchanged glances before hiding behind a large boulder and moving forward cautiously. Soon, they found themselves behind a tall boulder deep within the ice valley.
