In that moment, I felt like a piece of meat being eyed by a predator.
And Kael-he was as fierce as a wolf.
Suddenly, I regretted coming to his apartment. I had only thought about avoiding Evelyn’s prying eyes and figured Kael’s place would be more convenient.
But I hadn’t anticipated that after dinner, I’d become the dessert in Kael’s eyes.
His kiss was aggressive, forcing its way past my lips and deep into my mouth.
He gave me no room to resist.
I pounded on his chest, twisting my body in a futile struggle.
But it was useless. With one hand, he easily pinned both of mine.
He bit my lip, sucking on it greedily.
Under his assault, my body grew weaker and weaker until I had no choice but to lean into his embrace, letting him hold me up.
As expected, I was no match for Kael in moments like these.
While he kissed me, his hands roamed freely, exploring my body with a roughness that made me whimper.
Yet, despite the pain, I felt my desire grow stronger.
My arms wrapped around his neck, and my body pressed closer to his.
His hands burned against my curves, undoing the buttons of my shirt one by one before slipping between my thighs.
My body trembled uncontrollably with excitement.
I could feel the rapid rise and fall of his chest, his low groan of satisfaction vibrating deep within him.
Finally, he lifted me and laid me down on the bed.
The softness of the mattress enveloped me, bringing a sense of comfort.
He stripped off my clothes, his hands caressing me until my body felt as soft as water.
I clung to his arm, marveling at its strength and firmness.
The sheer power of him mesmerized me.
When he entered me, I shuddered uncontrollably, the sensation radiating from the depths of my heart to every corner of my body.
My vision blurred, and all I could focus on was the heat between us.
I knew I was done for.
Even though I knew I should stay away from Kael, that I shouldn’t have any more contact with him, when he was inside me, I knew I couldn’t leave him.
My body was addicted to him.
In bed, we were simply too compatible.
He knew all my sensitive spots, driving me to the brink of madness with every touch.
He was incredible, turning me into someone I didn’t recognize.
It was no wonder that someone as reserved as me had once made the bold decision to propose being his bed partner.
For me, it had been a leap of courage.
But who could have known that Kael wasn’t human-and that I’d caught the attention of monsters?
That night was long. Kael kept me awake, turning me over and over until my rationality was completely shattered.
In that moment, all I could think was to abandon reason and surrender to the passion.
Of course, that mindset only lasted until the next morning.
When I woke up, I immediately got dressed and left, as if a monster were chasing me.
I couldn’t even wait for Kael to wake up.
I couldn’t face him. Every time we were together, I’d regret it once I came to my senses.
I was human. He was a werewolf. How could we ever be together?
Today was Kael’s match. After changing into fresh clothes, I headed to the Eagle Club and threw myself into work.
Since most of the preparations were done the day before, there wasn’t much left to do.
I had given the VIP tickets Kael gave me to Evelyn and Judy early that morning.
They were thrilled.
“Seraph, thank you!” Evelyn hugged me and kissed my cheek. “This is the first time I’ll get to watch a match up close. I’m so happy!”
“I bet you got these from Kael, didn’t you?”
“Of course not,” I laughed. “You know I work part-time at the club. Staff get allocated tickets.”
Evelyn chuckled.
“This is so cool!” Judy whistled.
“What about you, Seraph? Don’t you need a ticket?” Evelyn asked.
“I’m staff. I’ll be on standby during the match. Isn’t that like watching it?” I smiled, easing Evelyn’s concerns.
As I wiped down the counter, my mind drifted back to last night’s madness with Kael.
His body was still as strong and sturdy as ever, his arms like iron pillars.
Even now, the memory made my heart race and my cheeks flush.
It all felt so strange, and my emotions were a tangled mess.
One moment, I wanted to distance myself from Kael; the next, I craved his touch.
But thinking about his match tonight, my heart tightened with worry.
Just then, a voice cut through my thoughts.
“You think Kael actually likes you? If he did, he wouldn’t let you work these dirty jobs, you whore!”
It was Vivienne.
I turned around and saw her standing there, her hair tied back in a ponytail, her face made up with precision, and her lips glistening with shiny lipstick.
She wore a light blue tank top paired with a white miniskirt, exuding sensuality.
But her words were as sharp as ever.
I wasn’t about to be kind to someone like her.
“Whether he likes me or not, he’s gentle with me in bed. Unlike you-he won’t even let you near his bed. Is that right, Vivienne? So many girls have been in his bed, but not you.”
I wasn’t entirely sure, but based on what Kael had told me last night, I felt confident enough to say it.
Vivienne’s face turned pale, her eyes glaring at me.
“You think you’re special? You’re just his sex toy. I’ll be his fiancee one day. He’ll respect me too much to sleep with me so casually.”
“Keep telling yourself that,” I scoffed, returning to my work.
“Seraphina, don’t say I didn’t warn you. You and him aren’t the same. He and I are the perfect match. His father would never allow you two to be together.”
Her words struck a chord in my heart.
I turned to study her. Could Vivienne be a werewolf too?
She didn’t seem like it-she was too brash.
But then again, who knew? She was close to Kael.
Just then, Lucian’s voice came from the doorway.
“What’s going on here? Seraph, are you okay?”
